Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) combined with time division multiplexing (TDM), in this paper called OFDM/TDM, can overcome the high peak-to-average-power ratio (PAPR) problem of the conventional OFDM and improve the robustness against long time delays. In this paper, the bit error rate (BER) performance of OFDM/FDM in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading. channel is evaluated by computer simulation. It is shown that the use of frequency-domain equalization based on minimum mean square error criterion (MMSE-FDE) can significantly improve the BER performance, compared to the conventional OFDM, by exploiting the channel frequency-selectivity while reducing the PAPR or improving the robustness against long time delays. It is also shown that the performance of OFDM/FDM designed to reduce the PAPR can bridge the conventional OFDM and single-carrier (SC) transmission by changing the design parameter.
MC-CDMA, a multicarrier (MC) modulation scheme based on code division multiple access (CDMA), is the most likely candidate for the next generation of mobile radio communications. The rate compatible punctured turbo (RCPT) coded hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) has been found to give improved throughput performance in a direct sequence (DS) CDMA system. However, the extent to which the RCPT HARQ improves the throughput performance of an MC-CDMA system has not been fully understood. In this paper, we apply the RCPT HARQ to MC-CDMA and evaluate by computer simulations its performance in a frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel. We found that the performance of RCPT HARQ MC-CDMA is almost insensitive to channel characteristics. The performance can be drastically improved with receive diversity combined with space-time transmit diversity. In addition, the comparison of RCPT HARQ MC-CDMA, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, and DS-CDMA shows that under similar conditions the throughput of MC-CDMA is the best in a frequency selective fading channel.

The performance of a multi-carrier CDMA system is analyzed considering frequency selective multipath fading and Near/Far effects. The number of multicarrier, multiuser, and arms of RAKE receiver, and the decay ratio of frequency selective multipath fading are used as a parameter for the performance analysis. More over, the distribution and the strength of multiuser interference are also considered. To evaluated the Near/Far effects in a multi-carrier CDMA system, three distribution models are assumed. In the first model. interference to carrier Ratio, I/C, ranges form -4 dB to 4dB, and at each 2 dB interval 20 % of multiuser is assumed to be uniformly distributed. In the second one, I/C ranges from -2 dB to 2 dB, and 33.3% of multiuser is assumed to be equally dispersed at each 2dB interval. The third model is 0 dB of I/C, that is, with perfect power control, multiuser are assumed to be evenly located. In this paper, multi-carrier CDMA system adoption RAKE receiver is proposed to mitigate the frequency selective multipath fading. Form the results, the third model(i.e. perfect power control)shows the best performance, and the narrower range of I/C causes the less effects to the desired signal, which reads to the better performance.

In this study, the performance of a 32-quadrature amplitude position modulation (QAPM) system is analyzed under a Rician fading channel condition when the maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity technique is used in the receiver. The fading channel is modeled as a frequency non-selective slow Rician fading channel corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). QAPM is available to improve BER performance without amplifying transmit power, and MRC diversity makes the performance improvement of QAPM system even bigger by intentionally maximizing SNR. Error performances are shown for the 32-QAPM system and a 32-phase silence shift keying (PSSK) system in order to examine the effects of fading severity, for various values of the Rician parameter, K. The dependence of error rates on MRC diversity is also analyzed. The simulation results show that the BER performance of the 32-QAPM system is better than that of the 32-PSSK system under the above mentioned conditions.
In this paper, we analyzed the performance of OFDM systems with adaptive equalizer that considers the frequency offset, the frequency non-selective fading, and two-path microwave Rummer's model channels. First of all, it is analyzed that the performance degradation, which is caused by the offset and the non-selective fading channel, through simulation. As the results of the simulation, the performance of the OFDM system is greatly influenced by the offset and channels. The more the frequency offset is, the worse the performance of the OFDM system is. However, if the adaptive equalizer is adopted to the OFDM system, the performance is enhanced up to the limited rang.
The performance of space-frequency trellis coded (SFTC) OFDM system is analyzed in frequency selective fading channel. Using a pairwise error probability upper bound expression, we design the code and interleaver that can maximize the diversity and coding gain. To alleviate the performance degradation due to the inter-antenna product terms, we propose a new SFTC scheme that employs non-overlapped interleaving for each antenna A new code is optimized for the non-overlapped interleaving and a practical sub-optimal decoding algorithm is proposed. It is shown that the proposed scheme can substantially improve the performance compared to the conventional scheme that employs identical interleaving for all antennas.
We consider the design of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transceivers f3r fixed wireless communications. The use of adaptive power control in the transmitter (Tx) can provide BER performance robust to fading and improved BER performance. The BER performance is evaluated by analytical and simulation results when multi-level QAM transceiver employing power control in the Tx is applied to fixed wireless channel with flat fading and frequency selective fading. The effect of power control parameters such as power control range and power control step size is investigated

In this paper, we extend SVR-MMSE detection scheme which is proposed in MIMO system to MIMO-OFDM system, and evaluate performance of the system in frequency selective fading channel. First of all, we explain about typical MIMO-OFDM system and detection scheme of constant modulus signals in this system. And compare proposed SVR-MMSE with Zero Forcing, Minimum Mean Square Error which is conventional detection scheme. we identify that the performance of the proposed system is shown different by varying doppler frequency in frequency selective fading channel using jakes channel model. The result of detection performance by the proposed SVR-MMSE in this simulation, it shows that proposed algorithm have a good performance in MIMO-OFDM systems.
It applied the linear tapped delay line structure to the least mean square algorithm and the recursive least square algorithm it investigated the mean square error characteristics of compensation algorithm. The purpose of this paper is to propose multi-tap update algorithm, which is superior to compensation capacity of data, and then compare and analyze it from the perspective of convergence characteristics at time invariant transmission channel and frequency selective fading channel.
