The purpose of this paper is to introduce the new way of location choice for free trade zone in Busan area by using Obata and Ishii(2003) model of preference discrimination score. And also, this paper investigates the result of Choi, Bong-ho(200l) that deals with the choice of tariff free area in Busan area. Empirical main results are as follows: First, the North Port(Sinsundae)and the New Busan Port are efficient. Final winer of location choice for free trade zone is the North Port(Sinsundae). Second, the ranking result of this paper for 10 potential sites of free trade zone shows the almost similar to that of Choi, Bong-ho(200l). Policy planner for location choice of free trade zone should introduce the preference discrimination score method by Obata and Ishii(2003), because this method shows the very positive empirical results like questionaire method by expert groups and common people in Busan which should cause the much time and much money.

The objective of the study is to propose to the strategy to make korean main ports to international logistics center in Northeast Asia. so this study's construction is constructed four steps. First, analysis the environment of economy, business and logistics industry in Northeast Asia. Second, analysis the constructions and characters of Free Zone Act. Third, analysis of Korean Government's policy about Free Zone. Forth, propose the growing strategy of Free Zone. In 1999 Northeast Asia was adopted in Korea, which will facilitate the process and strengthen the international logistics capability as a international logistics hub in Northeast Asia. But only adoption in the point of law is not enough to growing korean main seaport and airport to a international logistics hub. so various strategies are needed. In this study, we propose the growing strategies that are to establish and manage the free zone of ports and its hinterland are: the establishment of a long-term vision of international logistics complexes, the improvement of the proximity to markets/customers by way of linkage of global networks, the activation of the industrial complex in hinterland, the development of the skilled labor and the labor climate, the cooperation between governmental bodies and government/provincial bodies, continuous development of logistics infrastructure and so on.

This paper analyzes the comparative advantages and development prospects of the China (Anhui) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Based on a SWOT analysis method, this study finds that the Anhui Pilot Free Trade Zone has a set of comparative advantages, including location advantage, rich resources, industrial transformation and new industries, technological innovation capabilities, new patterns for development, and policy support. In recent years, by leveraging its key resources, Anhui Province has been committed to developing an open economy. Furthermore, its economic vitality has increased significantly under preferential policies such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Europe International Freight Shuttle, and the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Plan. As a result, the total foreign trade has continued to grow. The findings of this study highlight that the comparative advantages are of great significance to the development of the Anhui Pilot Free Trade Zone, which helped expand the scope and openness of the regional economy and foreign investment. However, to achieve the development objectives of the Anhui Pilot Free Trade Zone as planned, these comparative advantages must be developed and converted into a set of sustainable competitive advantages for the regional economy. Therefore, a few development suggestions are put forward.

The free trade zone would be evaluated at the point of granting exceptions of lease and disposal of land and manufactory, the organic relationship of the Manufacture and distribution, the reduction of rental value for foreign investment company and tax refund or exemption for customs duty that can be able to extend and draw new foreign investment enterprises. But despite of these, Free Trade zone, taking it in all its bearings, I considered its institutional problems and tried to find betterment of this.

The purpose of this study was to substantially survey the satisfaction of resident companies in Incheon Free Economic Zone to improve the investment environment of Incheon Free Economic Zone to attract more resident companies. This study implies that additional industrial lots should be secured and the restrictions against small/medium companies should be alleviated so they can grow into strong companies considering that the resident companies in Incheon Free Economic Zone are highly satisfied with their business in Incheon Free Economic Zone. As resident companies' satisfaction with administrative support, recruitment, and industrial infrastructure is low, Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority should understand and improve the specific complaints of resident companies.

Purpose - This study analyzes the effect of internationalization represented as exporting on firm performance on the subject of SMEs operating in Masan Free Trade Zone which has shown poor performance recently despite its status as the oldest and largest free trade zone in Korea. We also analyze the effect of firm size on firm performance, and the moderating role of firm size in relation to internationalization and firm performance. Design/methodology - This study uses multiple regression models for unbalanced panel data as the empirical tools for the estimation of the effect that internationalization has on firm performance (ROA or ROS). Our sample consists of 91 manufacturing SMEs among all 110 companies located in Masan Free Trade Zone as of 2017. Findings - The degree of internationalization has a negative impact on firm performance. However, firm size turns out to have a positive effect and play a positive moderating role in the relation to internationalization and firm performance. This seems to be because most tenant companies operating in Masan Free Trade Zone are small firms whose costs of internationalization may exceed the benefits. Empirical results also show that longer CEO tenure has a greater negative effect on firm performance. Originality/value - The originality/value of this paper can be found in 3 aspects. First, we conducted an empirical analysis on the relationship between the internationalization and firm performance of SMEs in a specific region, namely, Masan Free Trade Zone. Second, while most previous studies focused on listed medium companies, most of the sample of this study are small and medium non-listed enterprises. Third, it is witnessed that firm size has a positive moderating effect on the relation between internationalization and firm performance.

This study intends to propose a policy plan for the activation of the Busan Blockchain Regulation-Free Zone, which is selected by the government's comprehensive negative regulation policy. Unlike Europe and the United States, Korea is based on a positive regulation and aims at suppression, not activation. The Korean government proposed a transition to "comprehensive negative regulation" as a groundbreaking regulatory innovation policy to solve the problems of positive regulation. For this implementation plan, seven regulation-free zones were selected. Busan was selected as the Blockchain Regulation-Free Zone, and secured an opportunity to revitalize the stagnant regional economy based on the blockchain. This study is a policy study for the activation of the Busan Blockchain Regulation-Free Zone, and aimed to propose a method to create an industrial ecosystem with the discovery of a Busan-specific Blockchain service that can be commercialized in the Regulation-Free Zone.

Incheon Free Economic Zone's Songdo Area is a newly constructed city built on land reclaimed from the seaside and the surrounding area. Yeongjong Area is made after Land reclamation between Yeongjong Island and Yongyou Island began in November 1992. The first phase linking these islands to create the Incheon International Airport (phase 1) and the Airport Town Square community was finished in March 2001. However, if we take a look at the overall status of the project as it is carried on at present, it is hard to deny that the project is trapped inside the same legal restrictions as are all other existing cities, which permits Songdo Area and Yeongjong Area to meet only very minimum standards. This study intends to analyze and assess the Incheon Free Economic Zone's Songdo Area and Yeongjong Area of environmentally friendly construction and to rate its current development status, exposing any problems and offering alternative solutions. In this paper, the current state of constructions in Songdo Area and Yeongjong Area were reviewed. Then a quantitative analysis and assessment for the Songdo Area and Yeongjong Area constructions of apartments, complex buildings, office buildings, school facilities, store and hotel facilities were conducted by using green building certification criteria. Finally the synthetic results of environmental performance evaluation for Incheon Free Economic Zone's Songdo Area and Yeongjong Area constructions and follow-up suggestions were described.

Iksan Export Free Zone which was established for the export promotion, the employment augmentation, the technological improvement and the regional development promotion through the attraction of foreign direct investment is declining function with diminution of foreign direct investment, exportation and employment since the middle of the 1980s. The decline factor of the function was inherent in disregard of the necessary locational factors for Export Free zone's function promotion and without respect to conditions in a choice of location. And the present labor intensive industrial structure of region has some difficulties with a modification of Export Free Zone's industrial structure to a technology intensive industry. According to the lack of coherent policy, a limited plottage and a lack of the extensible space decrease the effect of agglomeration and economic of scale. And the lack of governmental policy to create a dynamic advantage comparative with an amelioration of the locational conditions of region diminish the regional attractive force to foreign direct investment.

Although the Free Trade Zone(FTZ) are actually competing with various strategies, the definition and structural understanding of activation strategies are not known very much Therefore this study has launched from this fact, and has the objective of obtaining the structural model for activation strategies in Gunsan FTZ, and understanding the components of activation in these region The process began by abstracting the components that composed the success factors in FTZ through recent research, and grouping it by the most core components. Also, by using the FSM(Fuzzy Structural Modeling) method to understand the structure of the grouped components, and the structural model for activation of FTZ was able to obtain as the result. When analyzing the obtained structural model, expansion of tax reduction, flexibility of law systems and good business environment came out to be the most important component groups, and especially flexibility of law systems and good business environment were the most effective component that effected all the other components overall.
