Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the current status of nutrition education via a free learning semester program (NE). The understanding of the program, the potential difficulties, and future initiatives for NE improvement were also investigated. Methods: A total number of 161 nutrition teachers from Gwangju and Jeonnam filled in a questionnaire and participated in this survey, which was performed from July to August 2019. Results: Our results showed that 8.1% of the nutrition teachers had taught nutrition education in free learning semester programs. The most frequently implemented model was subject selection, followed by club activities. Most of the nutrition teachers comprehended the purpose of NE. The attitude of nutrition teachers to NE differed by the understanding of its purpose. Positive attitude was evident due to a better understanding of the purpose by nutrition teachers. Nutrition teachers reported the most common difficulties of NE were the lack of preparation due to the heavy workload and the lack of a standard running program. The most effective method of NE was the activity classes. The experience of practicing NE influenced the choice of contents for each operating model. Nutrition teachers that were experienced in NE conducted via free learning semester programs preferred the selected topics model, but those without experience chose the career search model. Conclusions: Although some obstacles exist, nutrition teachers had a positive attitude and perceived well the importance of NE. Therefore, the awareness for the significance of NE of nutrition teachers needs to be improved. For better NE practice, it is necessary to reduce/ manage the workload of general food service. Furthermore, the development of standard running and promotion programs, and teacher training programs should be ensured.

This study was to investigate the effect of the statistics education program for the test-free semester. Two tests of questionnaires were used after revising some items for the subjects and statistical contents covered according to the purpose of the study during the 2nd semester, 2016. one was for finding students' attitude toward statistics and the other for understanding my career exploration. The statistics education program was developed for 5 lesson units and was applied to two classes with 53 students of one middle school in Gyeonggi-province. The results showed that students' understanding on career exploration was improved especially, in self understanding, perceiving career world related to statistics, and economical & educational understanding in statistical career. Also, the three areas such as interest, value, and effort among five areas about students' statistical attitude which was measured by the attitude test revised from the previous study, were improved with statistical significance. Moreover, we analyzed the degree of students' satisfaction over the program. Most of students were satisfied with the program saying that "I could not believe it is over now. The time has gone so fast." or "My mentor(a pre-service teacher) helped me a lot." Therefore, the program for the test-free semester should include the contents for exploring future-career and relating to real life.

The purpose of this study was to develop a free semester program using sustainable materials therefore improving the clothing & textiles section of the middle school textbook and the systematic and in-depth sustainable fashion education based on theme selection activity, as one of free semester system activities in the middle school. Our analysis on the programs, which was performed from 2018 to 2019, showed that the clothing & textiles programs were majorly focused making simple household items through basic needlework and knitting. The programs that related to the sustainable fashion education were environmental programs associated with other textbooks, or mainly included simple upcycling and were mainly operated as arts & physical education or club activities, rather than theme selection programs. According to results from a questionnaire survey on teachers incharge of the system, they had an intention of starting sustainable fashion education program or clothing & textiles section but failed due to low number of participants, practice cost, and time burden. Based on our analysis, this study proposed a 17-session based free semester program that includes the understanding of the sustainable fashions concept, classification of sustainable materials and systematic and stepwise practice in association with the middle school textbook clothing & textile section. The teaching materials developed in this study are expected to be incorporated in the program that helps students understand the right concept of sustainable fashions and respond to the pending environmental issue actively and systematically.

본 연구는 자유학기제 시행에 따라 실과(기술 가정)에서 진로교육의 활성화 방안으로서 가정교과통합에 따른 진로교육의 타당성과 방향을 탐색하고 이를 활성화하기 위한 진로교육 방향 및 모형을 제시하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 자유학기제의 의미와 동향, 교과통합 진로교육의 동향과 실과(기술 가정)에서 교육과정 분석 및 가정과교육에서의 진로교육 연구의 동향을 탐색하였다. 이를 통해 발견하게 된 것은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자유학기제의 의미의 모호성에도 불구하고 생애 전반에 걸친 진로교육의 중요성에 대한 요구가 증가함으로 진로교육은 확대되어 갈 것이라는 것이다. 둘째, 교과를 배제한 진로교육은 실효성에 문제가 있으므로, 교과를 중심으로 한 진로교육인 교과통합 진로교육의 중요성이 더 중요해질 것이라는 것이다. 셋째, 핵심 성취기준에 따라 실과(기술 가정)에서의 교과통합 진로교육에서의 핵심성취기준을 추출하는 것이 중요함을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 자유학기제에서의 가정교과의 진로교육 방향 및 모형을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 제한점은 자유학기제의 개념의 모호성에 따른 실천의 모호성의 문제를 제기하고 이를 해결하기 위한 교수 학습 과정 모형을 학교 현장에 적용하지 못하여 그 실효성을 확인하지 못했다는 점이다. 그러나 본 연구는 자유학기제의 실행에 앞서 교과 내에서의 진로교육 활성화 방안을 제시하였다는데 의의가 있을 것이다.

본 연구는 학교도서관의 블렌디드 러닝을 활용한 자유학기제 독서동아리와 연계 프로그램을 중심으로 운영에 관한 사례를 분석하는 데 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 블렌디드 기반의 학교도서관 운영에 대한 연구모형을 설계하였으며, 자유학기제 연계 프로그램의 참여자를 대상으로 학교도서관 독서동아리 활동에 대해 사례를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 연구모형의 관련변인에 대한 안정성, 일관성 및 예측가능성 신뢰도 검증의 모든 영역에서 신뢰수준을 만족하였다. 둘째, 블렌디드 활동과 진로탐색 및 진로설계 활동의 상관관계분석에서 유의한 관계가 검증되었다. 셋째, 블렌디드 러닝의 활동과 진로탐색 및 진로설계 활동 영역에서 비대면 활동에 유의한 정적인 영향이 나타나, 자유학기제 독서동아리 연계 프로그램은 비대면 활동에서 긍정적인 효과가 높은 것으로 검증되었다. 마지막으로 학교도서관 독서동아리 지원의 지자체 연계 프로그램을 제시하고, 학교도서관의 블렌디드 러닝에 관한 운영을 제안하였다.

이 연구의 목적은 자유학기제 정책에 따른 학교변화의 사례를 분석하여 2016년의 전면 실시를 앞두고 있는 자유학기제 운영을 위한 시사점을 제공하는 데 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 A중학교의 학교변화 사례를 질적연구방법으로 분석하였다. 중요한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자유학기제를 통해 전반적인 학교변화를 유도하기 위해서는 학교 운영 구조적 측면과 학교 구성원의 심리적 측면에서의 변화를 동시에 추진해야 한다. 둘째, 자유학기제 운영의 초점을-학습 개선 또는 진로체험 중 어디에 둘 것인지를 선택하여 실천 전략을 구체화해야 한다. 셋째, 자유학기제 정책의 일관성과 지속성에 대한 학교 구성원들의 기대와 신뢰를 향상시키고, 교육청 차원에서는 교사의 교육활동과 관련된 수업시수 조정, 학급당 학생수 감축과 평가부담 해소 및 교사의 교육활동 이외의 업무를 경감시키는 지원 방안을 모색해야 한다.

자유학기제는 초등학교 진로인식, 중학교 진로탐색, 고등학교 진로설계를 연계한 교육정책으로서 중학교 진로교육 활성화에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이 제도가 2016년에 전면 시행됨에 따라 공공도서관도 자유학기제 기반의 프로그램을 개설 제공하여 왔다. 이에 본 연구는 부산지역 공공도서관 자유학기제 프로그램을 분석한 후 지역발전에 대한 기여도를 논증했다. 그 결과, 진로 직업탐색, 진로탐방 체험, 정보해득력 제고 프로그램은 지역의 지식문화, 독서문화, 학습문화, 생활문화, 여가문화에 기여했다. 다만, 진로 직업탐색 중 강연 전시와 직업체험, 정보해득력 제고가 여가문화 및 지역경제에 기여하는 바는 제한적이었다. 따라서 모든 공공도서관은 지식생태계 구조, 디지털 정보격차, 인문치유, 사회환경 문제, 미래 직업상 등에 관한 프로그램을 추가하고 정보해득력 프로그램을 필수적으로 제공하는 것이 바람직하다.

본 연구에서는 자유학기제 과학과 평가를 실행하면서 과학 교사들이 겪은 어려움과 이에 대한 해결 방안을 알아보았다. 본 연구는 자유학기제 과학과 수업 및 평가 경험이 있는 과학 교사 15명을 편의 표집하여 설문과 개인 면담을 실시하였다. 본 연구 참여 과학 교사들은 평가 주체 영역에서의 어려움으로 학생 자기평가 학생 동료평가시 정확한 평가 불가능을 가장 많이 언급하였고 이를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 구체적인 평가 항목 제시, 학생의 평가 능력 향상을 위한 연습 기회 제공 등을 제시하였다. 또한, 평가 내용 영역에서 객관적인 평가 기준 부족으로 인한 정의적 영역 평가 어려움을 해결하기 위하여 평가 실시 전 학생에게 평가 기준 제시, 교사 간 협의를 통한 기준 선정 등을 제시하였다. 평가 방법 영역의 수행 평가시 어려움으로 관련 자료 및 평가 도구 개발 보급 미흡을 가장 많이 선택하였다. 평가 결과 영역 중 피드백을 제공하는 과정에서의 어려움으로 많은 수의 학생에게 피드백을 해야 하는 부담을 가장 많은 교사들이 선택하였고, 교사 1인당 학생 수 감소 또는 교사의 수업 시수 감소 등의 해결 방안이 제시되었다. 평가 결과 서술식 기재의 어려움으로 가장 많은 교사들이 언급한 학생의 특성 파악의 어려움을 해결하기 위하여 교사 1인당 학생 수 감소와 행정 업무 경감 등의 해결 방안이 제시되었다. 자유학기제 과학과 평가를 위한 교과 협의회에서는 과정 중심 평가에 대한 동료 교사의 이해 부족과 소극적 태도로 인한 어려움이 언급되었는데 꾸준한 토론과 평가에 대한 교사의 인식 개선이 해결 방안으로 제시되었으며 자유학기제 과학과 평가를 위한 연수 관련 어려움으로 학생 수 과다 및 시간 부족으로 연수 내용의 현장 적용의 어려움이 언급되었다. 자유학기제 과학과 평가에서 겪는 어려움을 해결하기 위한 교사 스스로의 노력뿐 아니라 제도적 지원이 함께 이루어졌을 때 자유학기제 과학과 평가의 성공적 운영을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

본 연구는 고등학교 영어교육에서의 영어 다독 지도 방안을 연구하기 위해, D 광역시에 소재한 두 개의 인문계 고등학교를 방문하여, 본 연구자가 영어 다독에 대한 소개와 수준별 읽기 도서를 고등학생들에게 직접 체험하게 한 후, 영어 다독에 대한 고등학생들의 인식을 조사하였다. 또한, 중학교뿐 아니라, 고등학교에서도 자유학기제가 확대됨에 따라 영어교사들의 영어 다독 수업에 대한 요구가 증가하였다. 이러한 배경을 토대로 자유학기제에 활용 가능한 영어 다독 수업 모형을 개발하고자 했다. 본 연구에 참여한 고등학생 35명은 영어 다독에 대한 안내 및 체험 후, 다독 중심의 영어 독해 공부를 시도해 보고 싶은 생각이 있다고 밝혔다(91.4%). 도움이 된 다독 체험 요소로는 '다섯 손가락 원칙'과 '수준별 도서 목록'을 들었다. 영어교사들과 이루어진 인터뷰에서 교사들은 자유학기제에 활용 가능한 영어 다독 수업 모형에 대한 개발 요구를 피력했다. 본 연구는 고등학교에서 실제 이뤄지고 있는 수행평가 중심의 영어 다독 수업과 더불어 자유학기제에 활용 가능한 도서관 활용 다독 수업 모형을 제안하고자 한다.

This study aims to examine the operation of a free semester system geared towards meeting education user needs by researching on youth training activities, a method of fostering talents to be equipped with the 21st-century society-required creativity, innovation ability, cooperation spirit and leadership, communication ability, problem-solving power, and venturing spirit, among other key capabilities. Thus, targeting seven public and private youth training facilities in Jeollanam-do, user satisfaction with ongoing youth training activities and achievement levels were surveyed so that problems of training facilities could be identified and improvement measures could be presented so as to ensure education that can satisfy both education providers and users.
