In order to establish the standard symptoms in men and women and highly frequent symptoms(HFS) of Phlegm(痰) Blood Stasis(血於) Cold(寒) Heat(熱) Dryness(濕) pathogenesis(病機), 969 questionnaires were analyzed through Cronbach alpha value and Pearson's correlative efficient. The Cronbach ${\alpha}$ value of each pathogensesis was Phlegm(0.83500)${\cdot}$Cold(0.823272)${\cdot}$Heat(0.816344)${\cdot}$Dampness(0.760292)${\cdot}$Blood Stasis(0.692551)${\cdot}$Dryness(0.672783) respectively. Through this study of frequency number of symptoms, followings were found that the physiological differences of men and women made some differences of main symptoms in each pathogenesis, and the differences of several clinical symptoms in a pathogenesis were resulted from the difference of specimens between textbook and this study.
Purpose In Sasang Constitution Medicine, persons are divided into four types such as Taeyangin, Taeumin, Soyangin and Soeumin according to their appearance, moral nature and characteristic of constitutional symptoms. In teenager group, diagnosis of constitution based on their appearance was so difficult that we adopted new diagnostic method which measures and compares body compositions. Methods 180 middle school students who live in Pusan were studied from 20th of March, 1999 to 20th of March, 2000. After practicing Questionnaire(I), QSCC(Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution) I , QSCCII, we have measured the height and body compositions with Inbody 3.0, five times. Results 1. The results of Sasang Constitution analysis showed 91 students were classified as Taeumin(50.3%), 75 as Soyangin(41.4%), 14 as Soeumin(7.7%), and 1 as Taeyangin(0.6%). 2. The level of total body water, muscle area, BMR(Basal Metabolic Rate), BCM(Body Cell Mass), and AMC(Arm Muscle Circumference) were increased during spring and summer. That of body weight, fat body weight, fat body weight ratio, waist hip ratio, and BMI(Body Mass Index were increased during fall and winter. 3. In Taeumin and Soyangin groups, the changed capacity of total body water, muscle area and BMR were increased with statistical significance. 4. Waist hip ratio of Soeumin group was reduced more than those of Taeumin, Soyangin groups with statistical significance.
After studying the theory of JangBu(臟腑), that is a physiology of Sasang Constitutional Medicine, in Sasang Constitutional Medicine, the author could draw a conclusion as these. 1. The basic thought of Sasang Constitutional Medicine is emphatic on the human beings itself unlike the idea of traditional Oriental Medicine, that accentuate the universe.(The traditional Oriental Medicine has a concept that the human beings follows the order of universe, but Sasang Constitutional Medicine has a different idea that human beings has the free will to the universe and newly comprehend the relationships between human beings and universe.) 2. Like the preceding, the theory of JangBu(臟腑), the physiology of Sasang Constitutional Medicine, is based on the autonomic mechanisms of human body itself. 3. The medical philosophy of Sasang Constitutional Medicine is Sasang(四象), that is Sa(事), Sim(心), Sin(身) and Mul(物). This Sasang is a classification of universe include human beings.(Sa(事) is event, Sim(心) is mind, Sin(身) is body, and Mul(物) is things. these four elements express the universe and human.) 4. The JangBu(臟腑) theory of Sasang Constitutional Medicine regard mind condition as important. The mind condition is divided into two factors. The one is Seong(性) the other is Jeong(情). The Seong(性) is an attitude toward the world, and the Jeong(情) is response to the stimulation from the world. 5. By the actions of Seong(性) and Jeong(情), the human body has different JangBu(臟腑) function, so the human body can be grouped in four constitutions. 6. Because of emphasis on mind condition, the Sasang JangBu(臟腑) theory has activism of human beings itself. 7. This activismor practical philosophy of Sasang JangBu(臟腑) theory, that is a physiology of Sasang Constitutional Medicine, gave birth to ethics or morality in Medical philosophy, that the human practice of ethics or morality bring a health and well being of human body.
1. Objectives: According to Sasang Constitutional Medicine, human beings are classified into four constitutions. Furthermore, medication and food should be taken differently based on the constitution because Sasang Constitutional Medicine is a field where all living things are perceived from a relative viewpoint instead of a standardized one. If so, what about the animals and its meat? This paper aims to identify the characteristics of the mics consumed, sonsially targeting pork and chicken as they are some of the most frequently enjoyed ones with the perception of the animals by the Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2. Methods: We examine the differences between pigs and chickens through the behavior and nature of them such as morphology, sound, body temperature, taste etc and support the observed differences with medical application. 3. Results: From the Sasang Constitutional Medicine's perceptive, pig is considered as Soeumche while chicken is belongs to Soyangche. Thus, pork is recommended for the SY type while chicken is preferable for the SE type. 4. Conclusions: In this paper, we are trying to suggest several categories for the evaluation of the constitution in animal, especially for pig and chicken. We hope that this is one of the framework for the understanding the animal with Sasang Constitutional Medicine's viewpoint. And also, it may useful to apply the basis what we have outlined in this paper for improving the method of raising livestock as well as the research of laboratory animals.
Background and Purpose ; Sasang Constitutional medicine is dividing individual's constitutions into four categories. Determination of an individual's constitution however, can be different according to what diagnostic standards apply. In this study, We investigated how different the applying results of the three diagnostic standards-the yong-mo(容貌), the body type(體形), and the mind(心性)-are and what the inter-diagnostic standard agreement is. Methods ; 36 patients in cerebral-infarction, admitted into the Dong-Eui Korean hospital from 1. May. 2000 to 12. October. 2000, were diagnosed by three diagnostic standards - the yong-mo(容貌), the body type(體形), and the mind(心性). Each patient was treated by Sasang constitutional medicine. The agreement of the final constitutional diagnosis and the result of each diagnostic standard was analyzed. Results 1. The number of Taeeumin was 13(40.6%), Soyangin was 10(31.3%), Soeumin was 9(28.1%). 2. In terms of analysis on the agreement of the final constitutional diagnosis and the result of each diagnostic standard, the yong-mo(容貌) showed the highest agreement of 93.8%, followed by 68.8% of the mind(心性), and the body type(體形) showed the lowest agreement of 53.1%. 3. The yong-mo(容貌) standard showed high diagnostic rate of the three constitutions(Soyangin, Taeeumin, Soeumin) generally and diagnostic rate of Soeumin was especially high. The body type(體形) standard showed low diagnostic rate of Taeeumin, and high diagnostic rate of Soeumin. The mind(心性) standard showed low diagnostic rate of Soeumin. 4. In terms of analysis on the agreement of inter-diagnostic standard result, the yong-mo(容貌) and the mind(心性) show the highest agreement, the mind(心性) and the body type(體形) showed the lowest agreement. 5. If the results come out that the three diagnostic standards have no concentration on one constitution, it was effective to choose the result of the yong-mo(容貌) standard. If it is the case the result of inter-diagnostic standard agreed more than two, it was better to follow the two agreed result than to follow the result of one specific characteristic standard.
The study was conducted for the purpose of finding out an objective classification method for the Sasang Constitutional medicine, which divides people into 4 groups of constitution and presents comprehensively physiology, pathology, diagnosis, theraphy and recuperation fit to each constitution. Questionnaire of Sasang Constitution collected during 9 months from March 1995 to November 1995. For the purposes of this study, the collected data were analyzed by crosstabs, variation analysis, discrimination analysis. The analyzing program was SPSS PC+V4.0. The results were as follows : 1. QSCC consists of the authorized questions studied by te oriental medicine specialists based on "four groups" given the diagnosis of Sasang Constitution Classification and variation analysis by scores of body constitution. 2. When human's body constitution is classified on the basis of QSCC scores of body constitutions and classified by the absolute size, group cases correctly classified was So-Yang-In 17.3%, Tae-Em-In 26.4%, So-Em-In 74.2%, Tae-Yang-In 100%. However, the number of examples are rare. Average percent of "group" cases correctly classified was 39.3%. 3. When human's body constitution is classified on the basis of QSCC scores of body constitutions and clasified by the relative size, group cases correctly classified was So-Yang-In 40.5%, Tae-Em-In 29.1%, So-Em-In 49.2%, Tae-Yang-In 100%. However, the number of examples are rare. Average percent of "group" cases correctly classified was 39.6%. 4. If the diagnosis of body constitution applies to the people after discrimination formula applies to them before the scores of body constitution is correctly analyzed, group cases correctly classified was So-Yang-in 50.5%, Tae-Em-In 36.9%, So-Em-In 55.9%, Tae-Yang-In 100%. However, the number of examples are rare. Average percent of "group" cases correctly classified was 44.03%. 5. As discrimination formula is applied and analyzed based on the questions of higher percent of reaction freqency, So-Yang-in 61.4%, Tae-Em-In 48.8%, So-Em-In 62.0%. Average percent of group cases correctly classified was 54.91% and it was percent increased compared to chance probability. 6. Therefore, it comes to the conclusion if we utilize QSCC, we are able to predict Sasang Constitution.
The investigation were carried out the 37 patient with cerebrovascular accidents who had been treated in Oriental Medical Hospital in Kyung Hee University and in KangNam Uy Lim, and the 10 examinees who had been worked in Medical Hospital in Kyung Hee University. The consitution which had discriminated by survey, which had discriminated by study on the morphological diagrammings, which had discriminated by the result of the impatient of hospital on a dosage of constitutial prescription. The Prostaglandin E2 in blood for 47 persons (37 patients & 10 examinees) was measured. The following results were obtained. 1.In the constitution which had discriminated by survey, in the value of Prostaglandin E2 in bood of ammong four constitutiens didn,t showed significant differance. 2.In the constitution which had discriminated by study on the morphological diagrammings, in the value of Prostaglandin E2 in bood of ammong four constitutiens didn,t showed significant differance. 3.In the constitution which had discriminated by the result of patient of hospital on a dosage of constitutial prescription, the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of among four constitutions didn,nt showed signicant differance. 4.In the constitution which had discriminated by colligated three methods(survey, morphological diagrammings,the result of patient of hospital on a dosage of constitutial prescription), the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of ammong four constituion didn,t showed significant differnce. 5.In the constitution which had discriminated by survey, a test of significance between the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of each constitution and the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of the others was conducted. Only the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood between in the TAE-EUM-IN(太陰人) and the others of female showed significant differance. 6.In the constitution which had discriminated by study on the morphological diagrammings,a test of significance between the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of each constitution and the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of the others was conducted. Only the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood between in the SO-EUM-IN(少陰人) and the others of male showed significant differance. 7.In the constitution whichhad discriminated by the result of patient of hospital on a dosage of constitutial prescription,a test of significance between the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of each constitution and the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of the others was conducted. Only the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood between in the TAE-EUM-IN(太陰人) and the others of male showed significant differance. 8.In the constitution which had discriminated was the colligated three methods(survey,morphological diagrammings,the result of patient of hospital on a dosage of constitutial prescription),a test of significance between the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of each constitution and the value of Prostaglandin E2 in blood of the others didn,t showed significant differnce. In this connected study is inadequete at present. But if the study is done persistently,the analysis of various ingredient in the body enables objectification in differentiation of four types of physical constitution as the supplemental method.
673 third-year students of boy's and girl's high schools in Taegu city and Kuni-gun and Youngyang-gun and Euisung-gun in Kyongbuk province were selected and investigated as the subject, of this study on the correlation between Lee Jae Ma's Four Types of Essential Physical Constitution and Physical Form index. The result of the study was found as follows. First, as for Height, the findings were not identical with the expression that "person of shaoyin(minor Yin) Type are short and small -- while person of Taiyin (major Yin) Type are tall and big," cited in classification of four different constitutions in a document named "Dong-Eu-Su-Se-Bo-Won". Comparison of persons of Shaoyang (minor Yang) - Type proved infitness due to the lack of data on Height in documents concerning Lee Jae Ma's four types of essential physical constitution. Second, as for Sitting Height, the correlation was prored between the findings of this study and the expression in the above document describing external physical characteristics of shaoyin-Type persons that "The upper part and' the lower part of the body are well balanced", but in point of Relative Sitting Height, none between the two. Third, as for Chest-Girth and Relative Chest-Girth plus Weight and Relative Weight, the expression that "Persons of Taiyin(major Yin) Type have the largest physique of the lour types of persons in the characteristics of external physical features, and that they also tend to have continental(widechest or large-scaled) character and strong nerve, that they are stoutly-built and fal." proved to have the correlation with the findings of this study. Fourth, in point of Chest-Girth and Relative Chest-Girth, this study found that its findings have the correlation with the phrase that "Chests are well developed upwar -- and sturdy and solid." in describing the characteristics of Shaoyang (minor Yang)-Type person' external physical features, and that with the phrase that "Chests are narrow" in the case of Shaoyin(minor Yin)-Type persons. Fifth, as for Weight and Relative Weight, the correlation was found between the findings and the expression that "shaoyin-Type persons have comparatively less flesh" as a sign of external physical characteristics of Shaoyin-Type persons. The above-cited findings proved that there exist some correlations between external physique of the Lee Jae Ma's four types of essential constitution and physical Form Indexes. Actually, however, in clinical classification, it is desirable that this approach should be consulted only after carefull consideration based on Lee Jae Ma's theory, and it seems imperative to continue the study of objectivization of Lee's theory.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to discourse upon that the construction of Sasang Constitutional Medicine has a significant property of Oriental Medicine by explaining the disparity of the viscera and bowels of four constitutions through the special quality of ying-qi and wei-qi circulating in human body on the basis of the channel-qi theory of ${\ulcorner}Huangdi$$Neijing{\lrcorner}$ Conclusion: 1. Primordial-qi is the congenital essence inherited from the parents and pectoral-qi, ying-qi and wei-qi is the acquired essence derived from the food and air that human eat and breathe. 2. Ying-qi and wei-qi circulates in the meridian system by the strength and pushing of pectoral-qi under the influence of primordial-qi 3. Ying-qi, by the pushing function of pectoral-qi, determines large lung-small liver and small lung-large liver according to the innate quantity of qi and blood. 4. Wei-qi, by the pushing function of pectoral-qi, determines large spleen-small kidney and small spleen-large kidney according to the innate quantity of qi and blood. 5. The heart in the theory of the meridian system's fetus-nourishing and Sasang Constitutional Medicine is involved in the formation of viscera and bowels as governing human body and seven emotions. 6. It is considered that Taiyang person and Taiyin person have the constitution influenced by ying-qi. 7. It is considered that Shaoyang person and Shaoyin person have the constitution influenced by wei-qi. The inquiry into several literatures on the basis of the channel-qi theory of ${\ulcorner}Huangdi$$Neijing{\lrcorner}$ leads us to the idea that the construction of Sasang Constitotional Medicine is another well-implied representation of the property of the meridian doctrine in the existing Oriental Medicine. And it is considered that the more continual studies of literatures and Sasang Constitutional Medicine Acupuncture are necessary henceforth.
"Dong-uisusebowon("東醫壽世保元")", written by Ijema(李濟馬), is about the treatment and prevention of diseases according to the four constitutions, Soeum, Soyang, Taeeum and Taeyang. He presents a precise pathogenic mechanism along with specific treatment methods of the Ulgwang(鬱狂) Syndrome which are Seungbo(升補) and Ikgiseung-yang[益氣而升陽] in comparing Mang-yang(亡陽) and Ulgwang Syndromes. However, in the case of the Mang-yang Syndrome, he merely presents formulas without mentioning details of the treatment methods. In this study, the formulas of the Mang-yang Syndrome and Ulgwang Syndrome were thoroughly compared and analyzed, leading to the conclusion that the concept of the Ikgi(益氣) method matches that of the Bojung-ikgitang(補中益氣湯) of Idongwon(李東垣), consisted of ingredients such as Ginseng, Radix Astragali, Radix Angelicae Gigantis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae etc,, and the concept of Seung-yang matches that of Gyejitang(桂枝湯). Furthermore, we have examined the addition of Radix Aconti Lateralis Preparata[附子] to the Ikgiseung-yang[益氣而升陽] method to be aimed at restoring the Yanggi(陽氣). Lastly, through comparison of formulas according to the progress of the Mang-yang Syndrome and Ulgwang Syndrome, we have presented a more detailed explanation of the concept of each treatment methods: the Mang-yang Syndrome focuses more on Seung-yang(升陽), Ulgwang leans more towards Ikgi(益氣).

② 상기 이용제한 규정에 따라 서비스를 이용하는 회원에게 서비스 이용에 대하여 별도 공지 없이 서비스 이용의
일시정지, 이용계약 해지 할 수 있습니다.
제 17 조 (전자우편주소 수집 금지)
회원은 전자우편주소 추출기 등을 이용하여 전자우편주소를 수집 또는 제3자에게 제공할 수 없습니다.
제 6 장 손해배상 및 기타사항
제 18 조 (손해배상)
당 사이트는 무료로 제공되는 서비스와 관련하여 회원에게 어떠한 손해가 발생하더라도 당 사이트가 고의 또는 과실로 인한 손해발생을 제외하고는 이에 대하여 책임을 부담하지 아니합니다.
제 19 조 (관할 법원)
서비스 이용으로 발생한 분쟁에 대해 소송이 제기되는 경우 민사 소송법상의 관할 법원에 제기합니다.
[부 칙]
1. (시행일) 이 약관은 2016년 9월 5일부터 적용되며, 종전 약관은 본 약관으로 대체되며, 개정된 약관의 적용일 이전 가입자도 개정된 약관의 적용을 받습니다.
