물림조건에 따른 경화강의 절삭저항 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cutting Resistance Characteristics of Hardended Steel according to Engagement Condition)

  • This thesis is concerned with the study on the characteristics of the cutting resistance occurring in finish machining of hardened steels such as carbon tool steel and alloy tool steel by a ceramic tool with nose radius. For the purpose, the shape of cutting cross-section made at nose part of the tool was analyzed geometrically and the wear mechanism on the flank face of the ceramic tool is investigated. In order to investigate the characteristics of cutting resistance two categories of cutting conditions are suggested, along with geometrical analysis. One category includes the conventional cutting parameters such as feed and depth of cut, another containing new cutting parameters of thickness of cut and width of cut etc. Thickness of cut width of cut and area of undeformed chip section formed by the condition of engagement between workpiece and cutting tool are determined as the function of feed, depth of cut and nose radius of cutting too, And an effective approach angle is determined by depth of cut and nose radius.

  • 애니메이션 도구가 아날로그 도구에서 디지털 저작도구로 바뀌면서 애니메이션의 비약적인 발전이 이루어졌다. 디지털 저작도구의 위상변화에 따라, 대학과 학원 등에서 디지털 저작도구의 교육에도 많은 변화가 생기게 되었다. 디지털 저작도구가 단순한 도구(tool)이라는 인식으로 인해 저작도구에 대한 연구가 부족하였으므로, 대학교육 현장에서 학생들의 디지털 저작도구에 대한 적응의 어려움과 체감난이도를 줄여보고자 이것에 대한 분석적 접근을 해보고자 한다. 아울러 애니메이션 종사자들의 사회적 문화적 변화와 초급자와 실무자의 재교육에 있어 디지털 저작도구의 효과적인 교육방안을 제안 한다. 이 도구는 지각적 지식과 서술적 지식을 동시에 가지고 있고 언어적 특징과 지식적 특징들을 가지기 때문에, 배우기도 힘들고 제대로 익히기 위해서는 전문적 수준의 컴퓨터그래픽지식을 배워야 한다. 그리고 창조적인 결과물을 제작하기 위해 저작도구 내에서 창의적인 시도를 하기도 한다. 또한 자기개발을 위해 사용자들은 커뮤니티를 형성해 정보를 교환하고 더 나아가 저작도구를 매개로한 구인구직시장을 형성하기도 한다. 이처럼 디지털 저작도구는 단순한 도구가 아니다. 그래서 저작도구에 대한 태도를 학구적으로 바꿀 필요가 있다고 생각한다. 그러나 이것이 긍정적인 측면만 가지고 있는 것은 아니어서 사용자들이 다루는 저작도구에 종속화되는 현상이 생기고 있으며, 저작도구를 맹신하거나 타 소프트웨어에 비판적인 입장을 갖게 되기도 한다. 기존에 저작도구에 관한 연구가 공학적 측면과 산업적 측면만으로 보는 경향이 많았는데, 이 논문을 통해서 인문학적 측면에서 사회/문화적 특징과 학술적인 의미를 찾고 교육적 차원에서 어떻게 접근하는 것이 옳은 것인지 조사 한다.

경화강에 대한 세라믹공구의 손상특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Failure Characteristics of Ceramic Tool for Hardened Steels)

  • This thesis is concerned with the study on the characteristics of the tool failure occuring at the beginning of cutting in finish machining of hardened steels such as carbon tool steel and alloy tool steel by a ceramic tool (Al$_{2}$O$_{3}$+TiC) with nose radius. In the machining of hardened carbon steel STC3, the wear mechanism on the flank face of the ceramic tool is abrasion wear. The mode of tool failure is developed into catastropic fracture with flaking. It is thought that the fracture caused by FeO and TiO$_{2}$ results from the oxidation of Fe in the workpice and TiC in the ceramic tool and the deposit of Fe formed on the surface of the ceramic tool. In the machining of hardened alloy steel STD11, the wear mechanism on the flank face of the ceramic tool is that abrasion and adhesion wear exist simultaneously. The mode of tool failure at the beginning of cutting features is DOC notch wear. It is thought that the DOC notch wear caused by FeO and TiO$_{2}$results from the oxidation of Fe and TiC in the workpiece and ceramic tool, respectively.

For the solution of this problem, a new forming process, which is called CNC incremental sheet forming, is being introduced. This process can form sheet parts without die, and is very well suited to small volume and varied production in space flight and automobile. In this paper, dieless CNC forming system based on a machining center is developed. A special device to grasp and pull the blank sheet built in the machining center and tool path generation S/W from STL file of 3-D model are developed. Several sheet parts are incrementally formed to verify the effectiveness of the developed system.

  • Processing of low toughness graphite material requires high-speed machine tools and DLC coating. In this study, results of investigation of the tool wear and machining properties of the DLC coating according to the thickness, and the machining time of the tool used for the machining of graphite electrodes, were as follows. 1. DLC coating thickness shows a larger wear amount of the tool center in accordance with thickness; the wear amount of the tool increases in proportion to the machining time. 2. The difference between the amount of wear depending on the processing time shows edge portions larger than the tool wear amount in the center. This amount of wear of the tool edge is formed since the rotating torque is in contact with the graphite material surface significantly more than the central portion. 3. The thicker the DLC coating, the more the coating tool eliminated of the coating area by the interface between the cemented carbide tool being coated with an increased friction of the graphite material and the DLC coating area.

  • The effects of gas composition, pressure, temperature and time on the case thickness, hardness and nitride formation in the surface of tool steels(STD11 and STD61) have been studied by micro-pulse plasma nitriding. External compound layer and internal diffusion layer and the diffusion layer were observed in the nitrided case of tool steels. The relative amounts and kind of phases formed in the nitrided case changed with the change of nitriding conditions. Generally, only nitride phases such as ${\gamma}(Fe_4N)$, ${\varepsilon}(Fe_{2-3}N)$, or $Cr_{1.75}V_{0.25}N_2$ phases were detected in the compound layer, while nitride and carbide phases such as ${\varepsilon}-nitride(Fe_{2-3}N)$, $(Cr,Fe)_{\gamma}C_3$ or $Fe_3C$ were detected in the diffusion layer by XRD analysis. The thickness of compound layer increased with the increase of nitrogen content in the gas composition. Maximum case depth was obtained at gas pressure of 200Pa.

  • In machining operations, a burr is an undesirable material formed by plastic deformation in a workpiece. With the ongoing industrial developments, it has become an important issue to efficiently remove burrs. Several deburring methods have been developed to remove specific burrs that require special machining. However, to remove burrs formed while machining at the CNC machining center, deburring tools must be developed. In a previous study, a new deburring tool was developed by the authors. In this study, the influence of the rake angle and stiffness of the new deburring tool was analyzed to improve performance. The theoretical model was driven considering the rake angle and stiffness, and experiments were carried out to validate the model. Especially, conditions based on the designed rake angle and stiffness to effectively remove burrs, which is difficult, at the exit surface were suggested.

전해복합에 의한 미세절삭가공 특성연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Compounding Electrolytic Machining in micro-cutting)

  • This paper presents a new method for cutting steel with a diamond tool using electrolysis. The electrolysis is adopted in the diamond cutting to prevent the high chemical activity between a diamond tool and an iron-based workpiece. The basic principle of the method is to oxdize a thin substrate of the workpiece by electrolysis ahead of the diamond tool which cuts the oxidized layer. A desired shape can be obtained by repeating this process. The cutting force is reduced because the diamond tool removes only the weakened material by electroysis. The reduction of the cutting force suppresses the excessive wear of the diamond tool. The oxidization penetrates several micrometers in depth along the previously formed shape. The corrosion rates depend on current density and make suggestions on the optimum cutting conditions.
