The aim of this study was to produce resistant starch preparations from acid-modified com starches prepared at various hydrolysis levels (0.5-4.0 hr). Effect of autoclaving cycles on resistant starch (RS) formation was investigated. Molecular weight distribution, pasting and functional properties of acid-modified com starches were determined. For RS formation native and acid-modified starch samples were gelatinized and autoclaved (1 or 2 cycles). While native and acid-modified starches did not contain any RS, the levels increased to 9.0-13.5% as a result of storage at $95^{\circ}C$ after first autoclaving cycle. Second autoclaving cycle together with storage at $95^{\circ}C$ brought final RS contents of the samples incubated at 4 and $95^{\circ}C$ after the first cycle to comparable level. As acid modification level increased, the amount of high molecular weight fractions decreased, resulting in significant decreases in viscosities (p<0.05). The samples produced in this study had low emulsion stability and capacity values.

In this study, we have developed a simple and cost-effective method to prevent edge bead formation by covering the edge of a chip-level substrate with heat-resistant tape during patterning using SU-8. Edge beads are a fundamental problem in photoresists and are particularly notable in high-viscosity fluids and thick coatings. Edge beads can give rise to an air gap between the substrate and the patterning mask during UV exposure, which results in non-uniform patterns. Furthermore, the sample may break since the edge bead is in contact with the mask. In particular, the SU-8 coating thickness of the chip-level substrates used in MEMS or BioMEMS may not be properly controlled because of the presence of edge beads. The proposed method to solve the edge bead problem can be easily and economically utilized without the need for a special device or chemicals. This method is simple and prevents edge bead formation on the sample substrate. Despite the small loss in the taping area, the uniformity of the SU-8 coating is improved from 50.9% to 5.6%.
Purpose - The objective of this paper is to investigate the effect of asset specificity, the level of information sharing, the importance of information sharing, and an integrated collaborative environment on supply chain performance. Research design, data, and methodology - Data collection was implemented as follows: questionnaires were distributed to 250 companies that have business ties with Halla Climate Control Corporation. The empirical study to test our hypothesis was based on statistical analysis (using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0). The hypothesis of this paper is that the asset specificity variable has positive effects on the following variables: Level of information sharing, the importance of information sharing, and integrated collaborative environment. Moreover the variables, the level of information sharing, and the importance of information sharing are strongly influenced by the variable integrated collaborative environment, and these when combined, have an effect on the dependent variable, supply chain performance. We tested our hypothesized model utilizing path analysis with latent variables. Results - According to the results of our analysis, hypothesis H1, which tests whether there is a relationship between asset specificity and the integrated collaborative environment, is supported at the 0.01 level. Hypotheses H2 and H3 were also confirmed, and asset specificity had positive effects (+) on the level of information sharing variable. The importance of the information sharing variable was statistically significant at the 0.01 level. Hypotheses H4 and H5 posited that the integrated collaborative environment variable would have a positive effect on the level of information sharing; the importance of information sharing variable was strongly supported statistically, with a significant p-value below. Moreover, the level of information sharing (H6), and the importance of information sharing (H7) variables also had a statistically relevant influence on supply chain performance. As a result, existence of a collaborative system between companies would influence supply chain performance by strengthening real-time information access and information sharing. Thus, it is important to construct a collaborative environment where information sharing among companies and cooperation is possible. Conclusions - First, with rapid changes in the business environment, it becomes necessary for enterprises to acquire the right information in order to properly implement SCM. For successful SCM, firms should understand the importance of collaboration with supply chain partners and an internally built collaboration system, which in turn will better promote a partnership commitment with suppliers as well as collaborative integration with buyers. A collaborative system, as we suggest in this paper, facilitates the maintenance of a long-term relationship of trust, and can help reinforce information sharing. Second, it is necessary to increase information sharing over time via a collaborative system so that employees of the suppliers become aware of the system. The more proactive and positive attitudes are towards such a collaborative system by the managerial group, the higher the level of information sharing will be among the users. Successful SCM performance is achieved by information sharing through a collaborative environment rather than by investing only in setting up an information system.
Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the effects of the insemination method on the outcomes of elective blastocyst culture. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the outcomes of elective blastocyst culture performed between January 2011 and December 2014. Results: There were 2,003 cycles of conventional in vitro fertilization (IVF) and 336 cycles of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), including 25,652 and 4,164 embryos that underwent sequential blastocyst culture, respectively. No significant differences were found in the female patients' age, basal follicle-stimulating hormone level, basal luteinizing hormone level, body mass index, number of oocytes, maturity rate, fertilization rate, or good-quality embryo rate. However, the blastocyst formation rate and embryo utilization rate were significantly higher in the conventional IVF group than in the ICSI group (54.70% vs. 50.94% and 51.09% vs. 47.65%, respectively, p<0.05). The implantation/pregnancy rate (IVF, 50.93%; ICSI, 55.10%), miscarriage rate (IVF, 12.57%; ICSI, 16.29%), and live birth rate (IVF, 42.12%; ICSI, 44.08%) were similar (p>0.05). No cycles were canceled due to the formation of no usable blastocysts. Conclusion: Although the fertilization method had no effect on clinical outcomes, the blastocyst formation rate and embryo utilization rate in the ICSI group were significantly lower than those observed in the conventional IVF group. Therefore, more care should be taken when choosing to perform blastocyst culture in ICSI patients.

The purpose of this study is to explain the regional transformation in the lowest level administration district(Myeon). The major factor of regional transformation is the change of geographical range, identity of place name, the formation and change of regional center. In contemporary Korean society, urban community environment is often associated with high-density and high-rise residences that make people's relationships superficial, instrumental and impersonal. Furthermore, urban community consistently interplays with neighboring residents and childhood emotional experience are influential on their unconscious images and attitude about their current neighborhood environment, while affecting the environmental attitude and the formation of community sense. Previous research found evidences that increased level of community sense is fostering more feeling of living in so-called "real neighborhood environment." This study aimed to cross-culturally examine what the respondents' emotional perception and their attitude were about the community environment in their childhood through environmental autobiography method and to examine the effects of the results on adults' formation of sense of community for their current community environment. Extensive literature review explored a few important theoretical framework which are closely related to sense of community (SOC) as a result of emotional experience: membership, influence, integration and fulfillment of needs, shared emotional connection and community satisfaction. Chi-square and GLM analysis revealed that there were no demographic, and socio-economic differences between two groups of Korean and US residents. Correlation analysis indicated that childhood emotional experience of Koreans and US citizens was statistically significant on sense of community for their current living community. Multi-regression analysis also found that the degree of influence were the main predictors for building strong sense of current community throughout a cross-cultural group. Furthermore, the relationship between various emotional experience of each factor in previous and current community environment were statistically significantly related. It is concluded that as the positive childhood experience of influence in their past community was going up, the level of sense of community for their current community was strengthened across their cross-cultural background.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem-solving process of student's compensation con-cept.For this purpose, verbal interactions during activities were audio-taped, transcribed, and analyzed. And classroom observation and interview with students were carried out. Students who were superior in mathematical operations tended to explain compensation concept using proportionality. On the other hand, students who had low level of conservation concept can not connect 'relation of two variables' with 'conservation of equilibrium' at the formation process of com-pensation concept. Students who succeed in the formation of compensation concept showed high level of conservation concept. To promote the formation of compensation concept, it is necessary that how to develop proportional concept and conservation concept as closely related with compensation concept should be studied.
Paleomagnetic and rock magnetic investigations have been carried out for the Cretaceous Hanyang Group, exposed in the Yongyang Sub-Basins within the Kyeongsang Basin, eastern South Korea. A total of 452 oriented core samples was drilled from 31 sits for the study. The in-situ site mean direction is more dispersed than the mean direction after bedding correction, indicating that the fold test is positive at 95% confidence level. In addition, the stepwise unfolding of the characteristic remanent magfold test is positive at 95% confidence level. In addition, the stepwise unfolding of the characteristic remanent magnetization reveals that a maximum value of k is observed at 90% unfolding. Furthermore, the rock magnetic investigations and electron microscope observations of the representative samples show that the main magnetic carrier of the Hayang Group is the detrital specular hematite of single and pseudo-single domain sizes with negligible contribution of pigmentary hematite grains. These results collectively imply that the ChRM direction is the primary component acquired at the time of the formation of the strata. Provided the primary nature of the ChRM, a magnetostratigraphic correlation between polarities of the studied formation and the Geomagnetic Time Scale indicates that the Hayang Group in the Yongyang Sub-Basin can be correlated to the Cretaceous Long Normal superchron. The paleomagnetic pole position from this study is significantly different from those of the Hayang group in the Euiseong the Milyang sub-Basins. Rather the paleomagnetic pole position of the Hayang Group of the study area is closer to that of the Quaternary period or present time of the Korean Peninsula. It is hypothesized that the study area might be rotated about 25$^{\circ}$ aticlockwise with respect to the Euiseong and Milyang Sub-Basins after the formation of the strata and aquisition of the ChRM, although there is not enough geologic evidence supporting the rotation hypothesis.
Correlational reasoning is used to analyze results from an experiment and create meaningful relationships among variables. Although there were many recognition development studies, not a single study found the optimal period for the development of logical thinking. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find the optimal period for students whose logic for variable controlling and correlational reasoning are poor. This study made a logic program treatment subject for students between the 4th and 8th grade whose recognition in reasoning has not been developed in general in order to find the optimal period for their development. The variable-controlling reasoning was performed the program of voice survey and sugared-water melting in subsection survey and sugared-water melting in subsection. And, the correlation reasoning was performed the program of rat's size and tail color, treatment, and effect. As a result of research, students, who were not formed variable controlling and correlational reasoning, could be known to be enhanced through learning, but to fail to be formed the qualitative change like the cognitive development. In other words, the optimal period couldn't be found that is grown the formation of students, who are not formed the variable controlling and correlational reasoning, through learning. It is expected that this research can contribute to the improvement of students' cognitive level and there would be more active researches in different fields to improve the cognitive level.
