The objective of the present paper is to investigate the bending and free vibration behavior of functionally graded material (FGM) sandwich rectangular plates using an efficient and simple higher order shear deformation theory. Unlike other theories, there are only four unknown functions involved, as compared to five in other shear deformation theories. The most interesting feature of this theory is that it does not require the shear correction factor. Two common types of FGM sandwich plates are considered, namely, the sandwich with the FGM facesheet and the homogeneous core and the sandwich with the homogeneous facesheet and the FGM core. The equation of motion for the FGM sandwich plates is obtained based on Hamilton's principle. The closed form solutions are obtained by using the Navier technique. A static and free vibration frequency is given for different material properties. The accuracy of the present solutions is verified by comparing the obtained results with the existing solutions.
This paper uses the four-variable refined plate theory for the free vibration analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) rectangular plates. The plate properties are assumed to be varied through the thickness following a simple power law distribution in terms of volume fraction of material constituents. The theory presented is variationally consistent, does not require shear correction factor, and gives rise to transverse shear stress variation such that the transverse shear stresses vary parabolically across the thickness satisfying shear stress free surface conditions. Equations of motion are derived from the Hamilton's principle. The closed-form solutions of functionally graded plates are obtained using Navier solution. Numerical results of the refined plate theory are presented to show the effect of the material distribution, the aspect and side-to-thickness ratio on the fundamental frequencies. It can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and simple in solving the free vibration behavior of functionally graded plates.

Nowadays, mobile devices are very common equipments such as mobile phone, PDA, etc. These equipments need information storage devices. Optical storage devices have more advantages than other storage devices, but it is not free from shock situation like dropping by user's mistakes. A complete model of a Small Form Factor Optical(SFFO) disk drive subject to shock loads is developed to investigate the response of the pickup/disk interface. With this model, we can simulate the drop test and consider the matters of shock simulation using commercial software(Ansys/LS-Dyna).
The shipping and shipbuilding industries have had business difficulties since the implementation of regulations on the CO2 emissions from ships by IMO and the occurrence of the global financial crisis in 2008. Under this global recession, most shipping firms have started to operate their fleets at slow steaming rates with the goal of improving the profit ratio per transported unit. This study analyzed the resistance performance of a 6,800 TEU container ship corresponding to its trim variation with slow steaming, compared with that at its original design speed. Two different grid systems were used for the numerical calculation, one that considered the free surface allowing the capture of the dynamic trim and one that did not. This made it possible to clearly classify each resistance component to provide useful information to hull-form designers. In addition, a form factor assumption method using CFD was used for a reasonable effective power prediction in compliance with the 1978 ITTC performance prediction method. It was found that the total resistance of a 6,800 TEU container ship was reduced by 2.6% in the case of a 1-m trim at the bow at 18 kn.
In this paper, free vibration of a sandwich curved beam with a functionally graded (FG) core was investigated. Closed-form formulations of two-dimensional (2D) refined higher order beam theory (RHOBT) without neglecting the amount of z/R was derived and used. The present RHOBT analysis incorporated a trapezoidal shape factor that arose due to the fact that stresses through the beam thickness were integrated over a curved surface. The solutions presented herein were compared with the available numerical and analytical solutions in the related literature and excellent agreement was obtained. Effects of some dimensionless parameters on the structural response were investigated to show their effects on fundamental natural frequency of the curved beam. In all the cases, variations of the material constant number were calculated and presented. Effect of changing ratio of core to beam thickness on the fundamental natural frequency depended on the amount of the material constant number.
The effect of geometry factors on the combined mode stress intensity factor behaviors of a slant crack in a non-uniform thickness material was analysed by 2-dimensional theoretical analysis. The analysis is based on the Laurent's series expansions of complex potentials where the complex coefficients of the series are determined from the compatibility and the equilibrium conditions of the thickness interface and the stress free conditions of the crack surface. In numerical calculations the perturbation technique is employed. The expressions for the crack tip stress intensity factor are given in the form of power series of dimensionless crack length $\lamda$, and the function of crack slant angle $\alpha$ and thickness ratio $\beta$. The results of numerical calculations for each problems are represented as the correction factors F($\lamda$, $\alpha$, $\beta$). The results clearly show the following characteristics : The correction factors of the combined mode stress intensity factors for a non-uniform thickness material can be defined in the form of F($\lamda$, $\alpha$, $\beta$). The stress intensity factor values for a given crack length are decreased with increase of thickness ratio $\beta$.

($K_{0.5}Na_{0.5}$)($Nb_{0.96}Sb_{0.04}$)$O_3$+1.2 mol% $K_4CuNb_8O_{23}$ ceramics doped with iron oxide ($Fe_2O_3$) were prepared by a conventional mixed oxide method. And then, their piezoelectric and dielectric properties were investigated as a function of $Fe_2O_3$ addition. X-ray diffraction studies reveal that $Fe^{3+}$ diffuses into the NKN lattices to form a solid solution with a pure perovskite structure at room temperature. At the sintering temperature of $1,060^{\circ}C$, when 0.2 mol% $Fe_2O_3$ was doped, the piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$), electromechanical coupling factor (Kp), and mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) showed the excellent values of 131.67 pC/N, 0.436, and 696.36, respectively. Results show that $Fe_2O_3$ deped ($K_{0.5}Na_{0.5}$)($Nb_{0.96}Sb_{0.04}$)$O_3$+1.2 mol% $K_4CuNb_8O_{23}$ lead-free piezoelectric ceramics are a promising lead free material for piezoelectric transformer applications.
In this research paper, the free vibrational response of laminated composite plates is investigated using a non-polynomial refined shear deformation theory (NP-RSDT). The most interesting feature of this theory is the parabolic distribution of transverse shear deformations while ensuring the conditions of nullity of shear stresses at the free surfaces of the plate without requiring the Shear correction factor "Ks". A fourth-nodded isoparametric element with four degrees of freedom per node is employed for laminated composite plates. The numerical analysis of simply supported square anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle-ply laminated plate is carried out using a special discretization based on four-node finite element method which four degrees of freedom per node. Several numerical results are presented to show the effect of the coupling parameters of the plate such as the modulus ratios, the thickness ratio and the plate layers number on adimensional eigen frequencies. All numerical results presented using the current finite element method (FEM) is presented in 3D curve form.
This research investigates the free vibration of porous advanced composite plates resting on Winkler/Pasternak/ Kerr foundations by using a new hyperbolic quasi three dimensional (quasi-3D) shear deformation theory. The present theory, which does not require shear correction factor, accounts for shear deformation and thickness stretching effects by parabolic variation of all displacements across the thickness, and satisfies the stress-free boundary conditions on the upper and lower surfaces of the plate. In this work, we consider imperfect FG plates with porosities embedded within elastic Winkler, Pasternak or Kerr foundations. Implementing an analytical approach, the obtained governing equations from Hamilton's principle according to FG plates are derived. The closed form solutions are obtained by using Navier technique, and natural frequencies of FG plates are found, for simply supported plates, by solving the results of eigenvalue problems. A comprehensive parametric study is presented to evaluate effects of the geometry of material, mode numbers, porosity volume fraction, Power-law index and stiffness of foundations parameters on free vibration characteristics of FG plates.
H. $W\"{o}lfflin's$ methodology created viewpoint of art history which is an essential factor of art, and proposed formal analysis as an academic methodology specific to art history. H. $W\"{o}lfflin's$ expressed the see-form a as the five pair concepts which are summarized by 'linear-painterly' 'the plane-the deep'. 'closed form-open form', 'multiplicity-unity', 'absolute clarity-relative clarity'. His methodology is not only in the field of art and architecture but also clothing because during the same period have a relative tendency of thought, culture, politics and economics each other. As the result of this study were as follows. Renaissance of 16 century, the style of dress was enormous and dignified by body support outfit, hard puffs, slashes, padding and expansive jewels. It make appearance of man and woman absolute clarity because Classicism styles of aesthetic consciousness is geometrically perfect form and symmetry and restrained harmony, magnificent. Baroque of 17 century, the style of dress was vigorous mobility and subtle balance by abundant and free silhouette, soft collar, magnificent ribbon loop and tassel without body support outfit. It make appearance of man and woman comfortable and natural because Baroque styles of aesthetic consciousness is extraordinary degree of originality and creativity that was evident in the devising of new styled.
