  • The object of this paper is to identify the key elements that impact a radiation dose at EAB (Exclusion Area Boundary). This study is based on the AST (Alternative Source Terms) as defined in Regulatory Guide 1.183. The LOCA (Loss of Coolant Accident) and the LRA (Locked Rotor Accident) are selected as limiting cases. A sensitivity analysis of accidental behavior with respect to various parameters during LOCA and LRA at Kori Unit 1 is also undertaken for the following objectives: to determine the limiting parameters, to find the impact trend of the radiation dose, and to find the safety margin between AST and TID (Technical Information Document) methodologies. This work confirms that key parameters are particulate removal rate, decontamination factor, iodine chemical form, gap fraction, partitioning factor, and the impact of isotopes group. Comparing TID with AST, the radiation dose of TID is about 80% greater than that of AST under a LOCA, and about 60% greater than that of AST for the case of a LRA; thus the safety margin is remarkably increased when the AST is used. In this work, the sensitivity analysis results are presented in terms of a sensitivity index called the "NDD (Normalized Dose Difference)", which compares the impact of parameters with that of a reference case. These values are derived by using a combination of the leak rate (primary to secondary), iodine chemical form, gap fraction, partitioning factor, spray removal rate, source term, and other variables.

  • The time for form removal is an important factor for ensuring the safety and economical efficiency of concrete structures, because it affects the quality, period, and cost of construction. Although local specifications suggest the form curing time, there is a problem of low quality of concrete due to early removing of form. This is because they do not fully understand effect of curing condition, and they want to shorten construction period in the field. Therefore, this research evaluates the effect of curing condition according to the time for form removal by testing specimen. As a result, the concrete compressive strength at the age of 28 days decreased about 40% in the condition of form removal after 12 hours, while the strength in the condition of form removal after 28 days decreased about 7%. Finally, this paper suggests an estimating equation for the concrete compressive strength due to the time for form removal considering various curing temperatures as equivalent ages. The proposed equation can be used in the field for evaluating the strength after form removal.

  • The effects of media composition on citric acid fermentation using surface immobilized Saccharomycopsis lipolytica were studied. The use of the standard medium for these organisms resulted in rapid decrease of citric acid production and a transformation of immobilized cell morphologies from a yeast-type to a mycelium-type. When the standard medium was enriched with vitamins, trace minerals, a growth factor and ammonium to form a Vigorous Stationary Phase (VSP) fermentation type medium, relatively stable citric acid production (10 mg/lㆍh) was obtained. Using the VSP type medium, the surface immobilized cells also retained their yeast-type form.

  • In this article, we establish Hilbert-type integral inequalities with the help of a non-homogeneous kernel of hyperbolic function with best constant factor. We also study the obtained inequalities's equivalent form. Additionaly, several specific Hilbert's type inequalities with constant factors in the term of the rational fraction expansion of higher order derivatives of cotangent and cosine functions are presented.

  • Detection of arcing high impedance faults has been a perplexing in the power distribution protection. Transient analysis of distribution disturbances for fault discrimination from other normal events is important for a secure protection of the power system. A simple parameter of wave form distortion quantification is used to analyze the behaviors of arcing faults and normal distribution disturbances. Theoretical perspectives of the transients were studied and actual disturbances were examined. From this investigation, a discrimination guideline based on the revised crest factor is developed. The discrimination method has a high potential to enhance the reliability and security for the distribution system protection.

  • For design of early childhood children's footwear, this study was to analyze the foot type by factor analysis and cluster analysis. This study was performed 200 male and 200 female early childhood children from 3 to 6 years, reported in part 1. The result was as follows : 1. There are no significant differences concerning significances, factor loading, eigenvalues, and contribution rates of factor among the results abtained by analyzing the male, female and both sexes data. 2. The 1st factor signifies the size factor that represents total foot mass. The average scores of the 1st factor significantly increase with age in both sexes, and those scores of male are significantly higher than those of female. 3. The End factor signifies the height of Tarsal, Heel and Arch. The average scores of the 2nd factor significantly increase with age in both sexes, and there are no significant differences between the average scores of male and female's except the age 3. 4. The 3rd factor signifies the shape of Metatarso-phalanx angle. The average scores of the 3rd factor significantly decrease with age in female. 5. There are four clusters selected by fastcluster in every age group. The characteristics of four clusters of every age group are different significantly.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences of visual image on variations in the length and princess line, in a silhouette of a one-piece dress with the application of the 3D Virtual Clothing System known as i-designer. Eight sample were examined: 2 variations of the length and 2 variations of the princess line, 2 variations of the form of a silhouette. The data was obtained from 66 fashion design majors. The data was assessed by a t-test and a multi-way ANOVA and factor analysis. The results were as follows; The visual image according to the design variables, four factors were selected; the attractiveness factor, the activeness factor, the practicality factor, the elegance factor. In these factors, the attractiveness factor is estimated by the most important factor. As a result of analyzing the effect of the interaction in the visual image according to the design variables, the influence of the main effect was found to be great in each factor. In the activeness factor, a significant difference was noted in the two-way interaction between the length and the princess line, the length and the silhouette. In the elegance factor, a significant difference was noted in the two-way interaction between the length and the silhouette. However, the influence on three-way interaction among the length, the princess line, and the silhouette was not significant.

  • This study was conducted to design long and short forms of reliable and valid Likert-type scales to measure environmental attitudes of Korean junior high school students. 8 tests were applied to the construction of a 32-item long form and 8-item short form of the scale. Two scales were field tested on 469 respondents consisting of male and female students in urban and rural areas and students participating in environmental programs. The 32-item scale was revealed to be highly reliable, content and construct valid. Reliability and homogeneity of this scale were evidenced by 0.92 coefficient alpha and positive interitem correlation values ranging from 0.10 to 0.52. Factor analysis and known-group comparison showed the sufficient validity of long form scale. Reliability and validity of short form scale were also evidenced by good results of 8 test analyses. The long and short forms were strongly correlated, ${\gamma}$-value of 0.90. Consequently, both long form and short form scales were evidenced very reliable and valid in measuring environmental attitudes of junior high school students in Korea. They can be useful for a variety of survey conditions and constraints and testing environmental attitude.

  • An efficient method of moments(MoM), which can lead to the analytical evaluation of the matrix elements, is proposed to analyze microstrip structures. The present method is formulated in conjunction with use of a new closed-form spatial-domain Green's functions which are derived by use of the integral formula for semi-infinite integrals of Bessel functions. It is observed that the computational efficiency such as the amount of calculation and computation speed has been improved due to the present MoM scheme by a factor of about 4 in comparison with the previous method. To validate the proposed method, several numerical examples are presented.
