A phase different method to evaluate the instrument error of roundness measuring instrument and the form error of specimens for the calibration of the instrument is used. An instrument with a rotary table supported by an air bearing was calibrated by using the standard balls as a standard. The calibration was carried out repeatedly by setting the same ball in 12 phase angles(per 30.deg.) on the table and by recording their roundness errors with a magnification of 100,000 times. As a result of data analysis of all the observations, readout at each of 144 orientations(per 2.5.deg.) from recorded data file, the error of performance of the instrument and the specimens are separated. In the particular instrument used in the present experiment, the error of the instrument was determined with the accuracy of 0.0164 (.mu.m) and the form error of the specimens was determined with the accuracy of 0.0264,0.0172(.mu.m), respectively. If the instrument was calibrated by using the above specimens, then the accuracy of the measurement of roundness error can be improved to about 0.017 (.mu.m).

In last decades, several linearization methods for the AOA measurements have been proposed, for example, Gauss-Newton method and Closed-Form solution. Gauss-Newton method can achieve high accuracy, but the convergence of the iterative process is not always ensured if the initial guess is not accurate enough. Closed-Form solution provides a non-iterative solution and it is less computational. It does not suffer from convergence problem, but estimation error is somewhat larger. This paper proposes a Self-Tuning Weighted Least Square AOA algorithm that is a modified version of the conventional Closed-Form solution. In order to estimate the error covariance matrix as a weight, a two-step estimation technique is used. Simulation results show that the proposed method has smaller positioning error compared to the existing methods.

Because of the development in mold industries, the geometrical form accuracy of the milled surface is getting more and more important. It has been known that the geometrical form accuracy is affected by machine conditions, cutting conditions, tool conditions and tool path and so on. Among them, the tool approaching path causes the change in material removal per tooth at the end of each machining cycle. And, this change generates the geometrical form error around the region where the tool engages the workpiece initially. So, it is impossible to eliminate the geometrical error caused by the tool approaching path. Thus, characteristics of this geometrical error are studied analytically and experimentally to minimize this region.

Permanent-Form is one of system forms for reducing human labor, work costs, oscillation, noise, construction wastes and so on. Permanent-Form is made from precast method in facilities, and carried in construction site to assemble with no demolding. The biggest expense to produce permanent-Form is about manufacturing mold. This papers about structural efficiency evaluation, construction efficiency test. The result of this study is below. (1) In the compressive strength test of column. Fly ash specimen and polymer specimen's strength developed as each 8%, 14% to comparison with standard specimen. The reason of this result from form section area increase and form's reinforcing bar (2) The Degree of column crack in permanent form is lower than another one's The glass fiber's fiber reinforcement effect brings like this. (3) In the flexural load test of beam, the early crack load and maximum load of permanent form use specimen showed 20% higher than standard specimen's. (4) In field application experiment, an constructional error is satisfied with the allowable margin of error, $\pm$5mm (5) When the concrete is placed into the form inside, The transformation degree of permanent form is lower than plywood form's. (6) The concrete packing ability of permanent form is satisfactory. (7) The bonding strength of permanent form shows enough strength - 6kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

In this paper, a new error compensating technique for form-error compensation of rough-surface profile obtained by contact stylus profilometer is proposed. By the method, the real contact points of rough-surface and diamond stylus can be estimated and the measured profile data corrected. To verify the compensation effect, the properties(Ra, RMS, Kurtosis, Skewness) of measured profile data and compensated data were compared. And, the cumulative RMS slope was proposed to assess the compensated effect of upper area of profile. The results show that the measuring error could be compensated very well in amplitude parameters and in proposed cumulative RMS slope by the developed form-error compensating technique.
In this paper, the performance of generic orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBCs) introduced by Alamouti [2], Tarokh [3], and Su and Xia [11] is analyzed. We first define one-dimensional component symbol error function (ODSEF) from the exact expression of the pairwise error probability of an OSTBC. Utilizing the ODSEF and the bit error probability (BEP) expression for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) introduced by Cho and Yoon [9], the exact closed-form expressions for the BEP of linear OSTBCs with QAM in quasi-static Rayleigh fading channel are derived. We also derive the exact closed-form of the BEP for some OSTBCs which have at least one message symbol transmitted with unequal power via all transmit antennas.
In a model-based sampling problem, it often happens that the functional form of variance of error terms in regression model cannot be specified in an exact form. The goal of error-robust sampling design will be to minimize the 'ill effects' resulting from a lack of knowledge of the error structure. A sampling criterion, which is optimal if it minimizes the average of an inefficiency measure when taken with respect to all candidate error structures, is proposed and a computer algorithm is developed for construction of optimal sampling plans. Auditing problem is of particular relevance because of the uncertainty that currently clouds specification of the error structure.

This paper presents new attitude error differential equations to define attitude errors as the rotation vector for inertial navigation systems. Attitude errors are defined with the rotation vector between the reference coordinate frame and the platform coordinate frame, and Platform dynamics to the reference coordinate frame due to platform torque command errors are defined. Using these concepts for attitude error definition and platform dynamics, we have derived attitude error differential equations expressed in original nonlinear form for GINS and SDINS and showed that these are equivalent to attitude error differential equations expressed in known linear form. The relation between attitude errors defined by the rotation vector and attitude errors defined by quaternion is clearly presented as well.
