운전 중인 송전선로의 철탑 전위강하시험과 해석 (Test and Analysis of Fall-Of-Potential at Towers of Energized Transmission Lines)

  • Tower footing resistance and fault current division factor are important design factors for evaluation of the lightning performance of the transmission line and/or design of the grounding electrode system. The periodic measurement of those factors are also important to verify that the grounding performance of the towers has been maintained good. However, the direct measurement of those factors in operating or energized condition is very difficult because of many practical reasons, such as the difficulty of disconnecting overhead groundwires from the tower under test. With supports by GECOL (General Electricitiy Company of Libya), we had a special chance to conduct Fall-Of-Potential (FOP) test on the energized 220 kV transmission towers before and after disconnecting the overhead groundwires from the towers under test. In this paper, the FOP test results on the towers and the fault current division factors estimated from the comparision of the FOP tests with and without overhead groundwires were presented. The computer models for the FOP test simulations were also constructed to find that the simulated results agreed very well with the measured ones.

사질토 지반에서의 얕은기초 침하량 해석 (Estimation Of Footing Settlement In Sand)

  • The settlements of footings in send are often estimated based on the results of in-situ tests, particularly the standard penetration test (SPT) and the cone penetration test (CPT). In this paper, we analyze the load-settlement response of vertically loaded footings placed in sands using both the finite element method with a non-linear stress-strain model and the conventional elastic approach. Calculations are made for both normally consolidated and heavily overconsolidated sands with various relative densities. For each case, the cone penetration resistance qc is calculated using CONPOINT, a widely tested program that allows computation of qc based on cavity expansion analysis. Based on these analyses, we propose a procedure for the estimation of footing settlement in sands based on CPT results.

Overturning Resistance of Plain Concrete Piers in OSPG Railroad Bridges

  • The steel plate-girder bridges with concrete gravity piers have possibilities of overturning by lateral inertial force which can be reproduced by sudden earthquake attack. This paper explores an overturning mechanism of existing concrete gravity pier onto the sandy soil in the event of lateral push-over load by in-situ experimental observation. The in-situ push-over experiment for pier with earth anchors between spread footing and rock beds exhibits a reasonable enhancement of ductility against overturning. In unanchored system, a flexural crack at cold joint of concrete pier is not developed because of the over-turning of the pier. This leads a global instability (rotation) of pier-footing system with relatively low stresses in pier itself. While a lateral load is persistently increased in anchored system, the successive flexural cracking failure at cold joint is observed even after the local shear failure of soil due to redistribution of stress equilibrium between soil and pier structure as long as a tensile action of anchor cable is active.

Strengthening of isolated square footings using passive wrapping systems

  • This paper introduced three new strengthening systems for isolated footings: BFRP wrapping system, CFRP wrapping system, and steel jacketing system. The proposed systems are more practical than the current traditional methods, which involves installing many dowel bars and splicing reinforcing steels to join new and old concrete segments. In the proposed three new systems, BFRP wraps, CFRP wraps, or steel jackets are installed on the exterior surface of the enlarged footing, with construction adhesive or a few steel dowels being applied to the contact surfaces. To investigate the effectiveness of three systems, forty-four models were constructed in ABAQUS, with different parameters being considered. All footings investigated failed in punching shear, including original and retrofitted footings. According to FEA results and parametric studies, the three strengthening systems were capable of improving the punching shear resistance of footings. By introducing a new factor η, the punching shear equation in Eurocode 2 was modified to predict the punching shear resistances of the strengthened footings. A linear formula was developed to present the relationship between the new factor η and the investigated parameters.

강관 말뚝 기초 두부 연결부의 합성거동에 대한 연구 (The Study on Local Composite Behavior of Connection Member between Steel Pipe Pile and Concrete Footing)

  • 최근 말뚝기초 공법으로서 강관말뚝의 활용이 토목 및 건축 분야에서 증대됨에 따라 이종의 재질을 가진 강관 말뚝과 콘크리트 확대 기초의 연결방법에 대한 기술개발 및 실제거동 파악에 대한 관심이 매우 높아지고 있다. 연결부에 대한 국내 시방서는 두 가지(A, B-type) 연결방법을 제시하고 있지만 실제적으로는 B-type 방법이 주로 활용되고 있는 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 강관 말뚝의 B-type 연결방법의 구조거동을 파악하기 위하여 말뚝에 작용하는 대표적인 하중인 연직하중에 대하여 3종류와 수평 하중에 대하여 두 종류의 실험체에 대한 재하시험을 실시하였다. 또한 재하실험 결과값에 대한 비교 분석을 위하여 3차원 유한 요소해석을 수행하였다. 실험과 수치해석 결과를 비교 분석한 바 현재 강관 말뚝 연결부의 설계법으로 적용되고 있는 가상 철근 콘크리트 기둥의 거동을 확인하였다. 또한 콘크리트 확대기초에 작용하는 하중을 강관으로 전달하기 위하여 사용되는 미끌림 방지턱의 역할과 이러한 방지턱이 강관과 콘크리트의 합성거동에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 향후 합리적인 강관 말뚝 연결부에 대한 설계 방법 및 기준을 정립함에 있어 기초 연구자료와 강관 말뚝 연결부의 구조거동을 파악하기 위한 실험방법을 제시하였다.

육상풍력터빈 확대기초의 재사용을 위한 보강방법에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Reinforcement Method for Reuse of Onshore Wind Turbine Spread Footing Foundations)

  • 기존 육상풍력터빈의 리파워링 시 기존 기초를 재사용하기 위해서는 증가된 타워 직경 및 터빈 하중에 맞게 기존 기초를 재설계 및 보강하는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 육상풍력터빈의 기초형식 중 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 확대기초의 재사용을 위해 기존 확대기초 위에 새로운 콘크리트 기초부를 증설하는 슬래브 확장 보강방법 및 앵커부 구조디테일에 대해 검토하였다. 그리고 앵커부 구조디테일에 따른 보강된 확대기초의 하중저항성능을 실험적으로 평가하였다. 실험결과, (1) 앵커부 철근 유무에 따라 내력이 30 % 이상 증가하였다. (2) 앵커링에 부착된 Pile-sleeve는 앵커링과 콘크리트 사이의 전단슬립거동을 방지하여 회전강성 증가에 기여하였다. (3) Slab connector는 신?구 콘크리트 분리 방지 및 일체화 거동을 향상시켜 내력 및 변형능력 증가에 기여하였다.

  • 송전철탑의 접지저항은 승선선로의 내뢰성능 평가에 중요한 파라메타 중 하나이다. 송전선로가 일단 가압된 이후에는 가공지선에 의해 모든 철탑이 병렬 연결되어 철탑 단독의 접지저항 측정은 현실적으로 어려운 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 리비아전력청의 협조 하에 가공지선 분리 전후의 220 KV 송전철탑의 접지저항측정을 위하여 수행한 전위강하시험과 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의한 분석결과를 제시함으로써 컴퓨터 모델을 이용한 철탈 접지저항 추정방법의 신뢰성을 검증하고자 한다.

  • In case of a line-to-ground fault at transmission lines, a portion of fault current will flow into the earth through the footings of the faulted tower causing electrical potential rise nearby the faulted tower footings. In this situation, any buried pipelines or structures nearby the faulted tower can be exposed to the electrical stress by earth potential rise. Although many research works has been conducted on this phenomena, there has been no clear answer of the required separation distance between tower footings and neary buried pipeline because of its dependancy on the soil electrical charactersics of the concerned area and the faulted system. In this paper, an analytical formula to calculate the requried sepeartion distance from the faulted tower has been derived.

New Simulation Method of Flashover Rate by Connection of EMTP and MATLAB

  • Because of the random characteristics of lightning, the Monte Carlo method is applied to estimate the flashover rate due to lightning, however, the simulations using previous methods are difficult to both beginner and expert in power corporations. Therefore, this paper proposes the new and easy method to simulate the flashover rate by connection of electromagnetic transients program (EMTP) and MATLAB. The magnitude of a lightning strike is based on a curve measured in the field, while the classification of direct and indirect lightning depends on the striking distance. In a Korean distribution system, the flashover rate induced by lightning is simulated using proposed method. Simulations of the footing resistance according to the existence of an overhead ground wire (OHGW) are performed and the simulation results are discussed. The simulation results are compared with findings obtained with the IEEE Flash 2.0 program.

  • This paper presents the use of Line Surge Arresters on 154kV double circuit lines. The ouatge rate which is highly related to the tower footing resistance is showed during the last a few year. The general methods that have been adopted at lines also are introduced. Lightning performance of lines without and with line surge arrester is studied and compared. The characteristics between air-gap type and gapless type LSA also compared. Line surge arrester installation strategy is presented.
