With the dramatic increase in mobile usage, more and more businesses see the potential of m-commerce. This study focuses on a subcategory of m-commerce, a mobile shopping application. To understand the purchase intention via m-commerce applications, this study is aimed to identify the main factors that are related to the applications and explore the influence of these factors on consumers' mobile shopping intention. This study uses quantitative research methods and selects Vietnam as its case study. The survey responses of 450 Vietnamese mobile shoppers were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicated that online reviews, e-service quality, and information quality are significant predictors of behavior intention, and perceived risk negatively influences consumer online purchase intention via the applications. The content enriches the combined research of detailed and possible models with quality dimensions and risk perception. Practitioners such as e-retailers and developers can enhance the quality of applications and determine strategies to reach potential users and maximize revenue. M-commerce providers should pay adequate attention to credible and influential online reviews since mobile shoppers heavily rely on reading reviews before buying a product.

Based on the theory of planning behavior, the purpose of this study was to validate the path to consumers organic bakery product purchasing process, and moderating effect of price sensitivity. The improvement of national income and changes in diet due to economic growth began to increase consumption of organic and eco-friendly farm products, and thus products using organic materials began to be released in bakeries. Thus, it was necessary to understand consumer awareness and purchasing processes for organic bakery products. Specifically, the study examined the structural relations among purchase reasons, purchase motives, and purchase behavioral intention of organic bakery products. A survey was conducted in May 2019 from adults who had experience purchasing organic bakery products in Seoul metropolitan area, and 327 responses were used for data analysis. The findings of the study showed that consumers' interests in health, food safety, and environment had positive effects on their attitudes, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control toward organic bakery products, while their interests in organic products did not have an effect on perceived behavioral control. There were significant differences in the purchasing process of organic bakery products according to their price sensitivity. The study suggests that the correct delivery of information on organic ingredients and the price policies available to many consumers will contribute to the revitalization of organic bakery products.
This study analyzed the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) of purchase behaviors and attributes for Hangwa. The data for this study were collected over 10 days from April 10 through April 19, 2013. For empirical research, married women over the age of 20 in Gwangju with buying experience of Hangwa were surveyed. A total of 172 questionnaires were completed and statistically analyzed by SPSS 18.0 package. Analysis rate was 96.6%. To review Hangwa purchase behaviors, most respondents bought Hangwa four or five times per year for memorial services or ancestral rites. Respondents bought Hangwa at big supermarkets and the types of Hangwa bought were Yukwa and Yakgwa. Their average expenses were 20,000 to 30,000 won per purchase. Among purchase attributes of Hangwa, respondents considered the importance of 'sanitation' (4.76 points) a top priority, followed by 'origin' (4.75 points), 'quality' (4.74 points), 'taste' (4.57 points) and 'appearance' (3.82 points). However in the case of satisfaction, 'sanitation' (3.85 points) was the most satisfying aspect, followed by 'package' (3.82 points), 'amount' (3.80 points), 'appearance' (3.51 points) and 'taste' (3.41 points). According to the IPA results, 'quality' and 'origin' purchase attributes, should be quickly improved. 'Sanitation' and 'taste' should be maintained. This survey found that satisfaction levels for Hangwa purchase attributes had a significant influence on overall satisfaction (F=29.11, p<.001), and especially 'taste' ($\beta$=.42, t=6.69, p<.001) had a meaningful effect on overall satisfaction. In addition, satisfaction levels for Hangwa purchase attributes affected repurchase intention (F=20.05, p<.001). From these results, Hangwa manufacturers should make efforts in product development to induce customers satisfaction and repurchase intention.
This study investigated the awareness and consumption behavior of 118 vegetarians and omnivores toward plant-based dairy alternatives. The preference and choice attribute questionnaires were compared. Significant differences were obtained between the two groups when considering the purchase experience, preference, and selection attributes of plant-based dairy alternatives. Vegetarians had more experience purchasing plant-based dairy alternative products. In both groups, environmental and animal protection were the major factors that influenced the highest response rate for purchasing plant-based dairy alternatives. The preference score of vegetarians for plant-based dairy alternative products was high, indicating that vegetarianism had a significant effect on their preference for plant-based dairy alternative products. Analysis of selection attributes revealed that price, product weight, appearance, and manufacturer were considered important by vegetarians, whereas nutritional components and labeling, manufacturing environment, composition of ingredients, and taste and texture were considered more important by the omnivores. Results of this study can be used as basic data for the future development of the fast-growing industry producing plant-based dairy alternative products.
This study examined awareness and information acquisition behavior regarding food hygiene and safety of university students to improve safe dietary practices and to get basic information to develop educational materials for food safety. It was conducted among 276 university students of Qingdao University and Liaocheng University in Shandong province, China through a self-administered questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS Windows V.19.0. To describe characteristics of the respondents, frequency distributions were used. In addition, t test, one-way analysis of variance and Duncan's multiple range tests were conducted. The results were as follows: The respondents were generally interested in food hygiene and safety. However, the level of awareness regarding the food hygiene and safety system in China was not high. Almost forty-five percent of the respondents did not think that foods produced and distributed in China were safe. For the reasons for their distrust, most of the students replied that they did not trust the safety 'because of distrust for hygiene of the food process', followed by 'because of distrust for food distribution' and 'because of excess or illegal use of food additives on food process'. The respondents answered for the concern level toward food hygiene and safety foodborne disease threatened food safety the most, followed by heavy metal contamination and endocrine disruptors. The respondents acquired most information from electronic media including TV and radio. Most of the students wanted to participate in food hygiene and safety education. Finally, when they found hazardous or foreign materials in food the most frequent reaction was 'paying attention in the next purchase', followed by 'notifying others', and 'letting it go this time but never buying that product in the future'.
This study examined customers from restaurants in hotels in the Busan and Gyeongnam region, South Korea, to confirm if dinging area decoration has any indirect effect on behavioral intention via customer emotional response and the mediating effects of customer emotional response in order to provide the basic materials of marketing strategies for continued customer visit to the hotel restaurants. The implications of the study are summarized as follows: First, if restaurant space is designed in consideration of gustatory, visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory aspects, it becomes a reason for customers to re-purchase and spread good words of mouth. Second, restaurant food space should be designed to make customers pleasant and exciting. Third, the design of food restaurant design that induces customer emotional responses elevates customer re-purchase and intention to deliver words of mouth.
The purpose of this study was to provide informations on what middle school students know and think about food additives, and their purchase behavior of processed foods containing food additives. The data were gathered by questionaries from 360 students attending in the 3 randomly selected middle schools around Gyeonggi Province. The valid 340 out of 360 questionaries were analysed by SPSS/WIN 12.0. As a result, the middle school students showed low interest in 4 kinds of representative food additives such as synthetic seasoning, artificial sweetener, artificial dye, and synthetic preservative. They thought that the food additives is necessary but not improve the quality of food, and may have harmful effects on health. The students who has mother of university graduate, and taught by text book A showed the highest interest. Most students rarely checked the indication of food additives on the processed food package, and they hardly put any effort to avoid the processed foods containing food additives. According to the results of this study, the students were not aware and did not know about the food additives enough, and needs to be educated more and in detail in home economics class.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between new brand awareness and new brand awareness according to type of restaurant menu purchase information. This study will provide basic research data on viral marketing strategy through online marketing of restaurant companies. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of information obtained through blog information and SNS advertisement on word effect (information acceptance and information transfer) and to investigate the effect of word of mouth effect on consumers' purchase intention. A total of 206 samples were used for this analysis and regression analysis was performed using SPSS 18.0. The results of the study are as follows. First, experience type, timely relevance and consensus among the characteristics of blog information affect information acceptance. Experience, and accuracy are affecting information delivery. Second, information discomfort among the characteristics of SNS advertising information influences the acceptance of information. Information, entertainment and trust are affecting information dissemination. Third, information acceptance and information diffusion affect purchase intention.
Food irradiation is an emerging technology which offers many advantages such as reduction of microorganisms, extension of shelf-life of foods, reduction in the use of post-harvest chemicals, and destruction of insects and parasites. The commercial utilization of food irradiation, however, has been restricted because of the uncertainty of consumers' responses to it. Because success of food irradiation in the marketplace will depend upon their acceptability by consumers, this study focused on the consumers' perception and acceptance toward food irradiation in order to get basic data for commercial utilization of food irradiation and give information to consumers to help rational consumption behavior. The survey with 411 respondents living in Youngnam area was conducted during the spring of 1997 by the questionnaires. The results and implications from this study are as follows. First, consumers' knowledge about food irradiation is scanty. Two-thirds of respondents in the survey had not heard of irradiated foods and many people confused irradiation with radioactivity. In the willingness to accept food irradiation, one-third of respondents showed a wait-and-see attitude. This result indicated consumers had insufficient information about the irradiation process and nationwide education of food irradiation technology should be undertaken. Second, although the purchase and use of food are very important consumption behaviors, consumer education by mass communication has been rarely done. For the successful commercialization of food irradiation, the information provision by mass communication for the consumers should be made. Third, consumers generally worried about residual pesticide and intended to purchase irradiated foods if radioactivity was not retained in the foods. Therefore, food irradiation could be an alternative method to the use of pesticide Fourth, consumers pointed out that they wanted to extend shelf-life of milk and dairy foods, fish and seafood and to irradiate these foods. Therefore, research for the safety of irradiated foods should be continually conducted. finally, labeling for irradiated foods is needed to provide the information and to further increase public understanding. Especially, the labeling should show the definite reason why irradiation is being used. In conclusion, recently, under the circumstances that the commercial utilization of food irradiation and irradiation for the import and export products have been increased in many countries, many efforts are needed to improve the quality of irradiated foods, and prove the safety of them in Korea. In addition, consumer education for food irradiation should be given to help consumers to make decision for food purchase and use.
This study was conducted to provide basic data for product development and marketing strategies for the Thai home meal replacement (HMR) market, to reflect the changing trends in household sizes in Thailand. The results of analyzing the characteristics and differences of HMR consumption behavior between single-person households and multi-person households in Thailand were as follows: It was found that single-person households use HMR to save money and for the convenience in cooking and preparation. In the preference by HMR type, multi-person households showed a higher preference for all types of products than single-person households. Thai consumers, regardless of their household size, mainly use department stores and large shopping malls to purchase HMR, and they most prefer to get information through Internet advertisements. The shelf life, quality, taste, hygiene, and freshness of HMR were the main considerations for their selection. Based on the results of this study, the Thai market requires the development of HMR products that are reasonable in terms of cost and preparation time. In addition, it is necessary to develop products that can satisfy consumer needs, such as nutritional enhancement and therapeutic foods, products that are organic, eco-friendly, cater to various menus, and address the premium segment.
