근적외선 농수산물 건조기의 복합열전달특성에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study on Combined Heat Transfer in NIR Dryer for Agricultural and Marine Products)

  • Mixed heat transfer in an indirected NIR (Near Infrared Ray) dry chamber was investigated numerical analysis. It is Important that the miked heat transfer effects on double parameters which the Reynolds number and the position of emit lamp. Reynolds number are based on the outer diameter of the cylinder range from 103 to $30{\times}105$. Four difference heat transfer regimes of behavior are apparent: forced convection and radiation on the outer surface of the cylinder, pure conduction, pure natural convection and radiation between lamp surface and inner surface of the cylinder. The temperature and flow patterns are illustrated by iso-contour lines for the double parameters. Also presented are results on the convective heat transfer flux and the radiative heat transfer flux as increased with Reynolds number.

  • 원자로계장을 위해서 중성자에 민감한 전리함을 개량된 기술에 의해서 성공적으로 개발하였다. 이 전리함은 50mm의 직경에 87cm의 길이를 가지고 있으며 대략 $10^{9}$ nv의 중성자속에 대해서 14$\mu$A의 전리전류를 흘릴 수 있다. 요구되는 정상전압은 +350v이다. 이 전리함은 동작중의 원자로에서 집어낼 수 있으며 또한 방사선에 대한 별다른 주의 없이 즉시 분해할 수 있다.

Carbonic anhydrase influences asymmetric sodium and acetate transport across omasum of sheep

  • Objective: Omasum is an important site for the absorption of short chain fatty acids. The major route for the transport of acetate is via sodium hydrogen exchanger (NHE). However, a discrepancy in the symmetry of sodium and acetate transport has been previously reported, the mechanism of which is unclear. In this study, we investigated the possible role of carbonic anhydrase (CA) for this asymmetry. Methods: Omasal tissues were isolated from healthy sheep (N = 3) and divided into four groups; pH 7.4 and 6.4 alone and in combination with Ethoxzolamide. Electrophysiological measurements were made using Ussing chamber and the electrical measurements were made using computer controlled voltage clamp apparatus. Effect(s) of CA inhibitor on acetate and sodium transport flux rate of Na22 and 14C-acetate was measured in three different flux time periods. Data were presented as mean±standard deviation and level of significance was ascertained at p≤0.05. Results: Mucosal to serosal flux of Na (JmsNa) was greater than mucosal to serosal flux of acetate (JmsAc) when the pH was decreased from 7.4 to 6.4. However, the addition of CA inhibitor almost completely abolished this discrepancy (JmsNa ≈ JmsAc). Conclusion: The results of the present study suggest that the additional protons required to drive the NHE were provided by the CA enzyme in the isolated omasal epithelium. The findings of this study also suggest that the functions of CA may be exploited for better absorption in omasum.

Methane emission from municipal solid waste dumpsites: A case study of Chennai city in India

  • The indiscriminate growth in global population poses a threat to the world in handling and disposal of Municipal solid waste. Rapid urban growth increases the production, consumption and generation of Municipal solid waste which leads to a drastic change in the environment. The methane produced from the Municipal Solid waste accounts for up to 11% global anthropogenic emissions, which is a major cause for global warming. This study reports the methane emission estimation using IPCC default, TNO, LandGEM, EPER and close flux chamber from open dump yards at Perungudi and Kodungaiyur in Chennai, India. The result reveals that the methane emission using close flux chamber was in the range of 8.8 Gg/yr-11.3 Gg/yr and 6.1Gg/yr to 9.1 Gg/yr at Kodungaiyur and Perungudi dump yard respectively. The per capita waste generation was estimated based on waste generation and population. The waste generation potential was projected using linear regression model for the period 2017-2050. The trend of CH4 emission in the actual field measurement were increased every year, similarly the emission trend also increased in IPCC default method (mass balance approach), EPER Germany (zero order decay model) where as TNO and Land GEM (first order decay model) were decreased. The present study reveals that Kodungaiyur dump yard is more vulnerable to methane emission compared to Perungudi dump yard and has more potential in waste to energy conversion mechanisms than compare to Perungudi dump yard.

플라즈마 챔버의 특성 분석 및 최적 설계를 위한 가상의 시뮬레이션 환경 개발 (Development of Virtual Integrated Prototyping Simulation Environment for Plasma Chamber Analysis and Design (VIP-SEPCAD))

  • This paper describes a newly developed simulation environment for analysis and design of a plasma processing chamber based on first principles including complicated physical and chemical interactions of plasma, fluid dynamics of neutrals, and transport phenomena of particles. Capabilities of our simulator, named VIP-SEPCAD (Virtual Integrated Prototyping Simulation Environment for Plasma Chamber Analysis and Design), are demonstrated through a two dimensional simulation of an oxygen plasma chamber. VIP-SEPCAD can provide plasma properties such as spatiotemporal profiles of plasma density and potential, electron temperature, ion flux and energy, etc. By coupling neutral and particle transport models with a three moment plasma model, VIP-SEPCAD can also predict spatiotemporal profiles of chemically reactive species and particles exist in plasma.

벼논에서 자동 챔버와 수동 챔버를 이용한 CH4 배출량 비교 (Comparison of CH4 Emission between Auto Chamber and Manual Chamber in the Rice Paddy)

  • The chamber method is widely used for measuring methane emission from paddy rice fields. The closed static chamber has advantages of easy installation and removal in the field and low manufacturing cost. However, the manual chamber method requires a lot of labor and has a limited sampling time and frequency. To overcome the disadvantages of the manual chamber, the auto-chamber system is used for measuring methane emission. We compared the differences in methane flux between the auto-chamber and manual chamber. To investigate methane emissions by the two methods, a chamber was installed for each of the following treatments : control without rice straw (NA), spring plowing after autumn rice straw application (SPRA) and autumn plowing after autumn rice straw application (APRA). The total methane emission was lowest in the control and highest in APRA with both methods. There was no significant difference in total methane emission between the methods, but dynamic fluctuation in methane with temperature change was accurately measured in the auto-chamber. Measuring methane emission with an auto-chamber system is expected to reduce uncertainty and increase accuracy, accompanied by labor reduction.

Net Ecosystem Productivity Determined by Continuous Measurement Using Automatic Sliding Canopy Chamber

  • For better understanding of carbon cycle dynamics of an agro-ecosystem, an accurate assessment of seasonal and daily $CO_2$ flux is essential to understand the relationship between various environmental factors and crop productivity. We developed the automatic sliding canopy chamber (ASCC) system that measured continuous net ecosystem productivity (NEP) over whole growing season under the natural meteorological rhythm. The ASCC was composed of two main parts which were sliding part for measuring NEP, and automatic opening and closing chamber (AOCC) for measuring soil respiration (SR) on the soil surface. The ASCC was developed by using open flow method for measuring soil $CO_2$ efflux. The disturbance of natural meteorological condition was minimized by opening the base frames. In the field test with barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), NEP was calculated at $140mg\;CO_2\;m^{-2}h^{-1}$ on a clear day using continuous data and eliminated the possibility of overestimate about 16% using one hour data during the day time. Unlike other small scale chamber system, installation on cropping-field made it possible to take any modifications which might be caused by natural environmental condition.

  • Nocolok 브레이징을 하기 위해서는 플럭스 용액을 접합부 표면에 도포해야 하는데 저농도 플럭스와는 달리 고농도 플럭스는 필요한 부분만 도포해야 한다. 보통 기존의 브레이징로에서는 고농도 플럭스 도포를 수작업으로 하고 있는데 작업의 비효율성을 초래하고 플럭스 분진 날림 및 열 등으로 인해 작업 환경을 악화시킨다. 그러므로 경제적이고 효율적인 고농도 플럭스 자동 도포 장치의 개발을 통한 품질 향상 및 생산 단가 저감 등이 절실한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 고농도 플럭스 자동 도포 시스템을 설계 및 제작하였고 이를 직접 브레이징로에 장착하여 자동화 공정으로 개선시켜 기피 작업 해소 및 생산성 향상을 이루었다.

  • The numerical study for the effect of various factors that affect the temperature distribution of the process glass installed above the large rectangular heater plate was carried out. For the calculation, heat flux, distance between heat source and process glass plate, effect of vacuum condition and convection in a chamber were considered as important factors. The results showed that the temperature gradient on the glass was increased at the natural convection because of the buoyancy force increases due to the heated air. Also, the more heat flux and distance between the heater plate and glass increases, the more increasing the temperature gradient was. In the case of isothermal heating wall, the temperature variation was smaller than the uniform heat flux condition.

코발트기 자융성합금 코팅의 마모특성에 미치는 후열처리의 영향 (Effect of Post Heat Treatment on Wear Characteristics of Thermally Sprayed Co-based Self-flux Alloy Coating)

  • This article describes effect of post heat treatment on wear characteristics of thermally sprayed Co-based self-flux alloy coating. Co-based self-flux alloy coatings were deposited on steel substrates using a flame spray process. Post heat treatments were carried out at 800, 900, 1000 and $1100^{\circ}C$ for 30min in a vacuum chamber. For analysis of effect of post heat treatment on mechanical properties, wear test and hardness test were performed for post heat-treated coating specimen. Microstructures of heat treated coating layer and wear track were examined using SEM and EDS. Wear loss and hardness became lower with increasing post heat treatment temperature.
