Preparation and Characterization of Coating Solution Based on Waterborne Polyurethane Dispersion containing Fluorine for Primer on Electro Galvanized Steel Sheet

  • The purpose of this research was to synthesize fluorine modified waterborne polyurethane dispersion (F-WPU) by soap-free (internal emulsifier) emulsion polymerization techniques, to prepare coating solution based on fluorine modified waterborne polyurethane dispersion (F-WPU) and to compare the chemical and thermo-mechanical properties on the electrogalvanized steel sheet. Environmentally friendly F-WPU was prepared with a fluorinated polyol containing 60 wt% of fluorine. There are various ways of combining a wide variety of fluorinated polyols and diisocyanate to exhibit novel properties of waterborne polyurethane dispersion. Components of coating solution were largely divided into 4 kinds i.e., F-WPU, acrylic emulsion, silane coupling agent, and colloidal silicate. F-WPU coating solution on the electro-galvanized steel sheet showed excellent properties of corrosion resistance, alkali resistance and heat resistance, as compared to other coating solutions using a general waterborne resin. The F-WPU coating solution's reliable effects are possibly due to the fluorine atoms incorporated even in a small amount of F-WPU.

  • Current status of soil contamination with fluorine and its source were investigated. The basic principles and procedures of various techniques for the analysis of fluorine contents in soil and solid phase samples were summarized in this review. Analysis of fluorine in solid matrices can be achieved by two types of techniques: (i) UV/Vis spectrophotometer or ion selective electrode (ISE) analysis after performing appropriate extraction steps and (ii) direct solid analysis. As the former cases, the standard method of Korean ministry of environment, alkali fusion-ISE method, pyrohydrolysis, oxygen bomb combustion, aqua regia digestion-automatic analysis, and sequential extraction-ISE method were introduced. In addition, direct analysis methods (i.e., X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and proton induced gamma-ray emission spectrometry) and atomic spectrometry combining with the equipment for introducing solid phase sample were also reviewed. Fluorine analysis techniques can be reasonably selected through site-specific information such as matrix condition, contamination level, the amount of samples and the principles of various methods for the analysis of fluorine presented in this review.

Fluorine and Heavy Metal Oxide Effects on Spectral Properties of Tm3+ in Silicate Glasses

  • The fluorine doping along with heavy metal oxides remarkably raised the $^3$H$_4$ lifetime and the quantum efficiency in Tm$^{3+}$-doped silicate glasses. 29 mol% of fluorine substitution for oxygen in 70SiO$_2$-15Pbo-12ZnO-3KO$_{1}$2/ glass raised $^3$H$_4$ lifetime to 193 $mutextrm{s}$. Refractive indices were raised by heavy metal oxide substitution, but hardly changed by fluorine substitution. The fluorine doping changed the local structure around Tm$^{3+}$ions, then low energy vibrations related to fluorine are considered to largely reduce the multi-phonon relaxation rates in the oxyfluoride silicate glasses. The $^3$H$_4$ lifetimes and absorption and emission spectra of Tm$^{3+}$doped silicate and oxyfluoride silicate glasses are reported, and Judd-Ofelt calculation results are discussed in this paper.

처리수(處理水) 재사용(再使用)을 위한 칼슘 침전법(沈澱法)에 의한 불소폐수(弗素廢水) 처리(處理) 특성(特性) (Treatment Features of Fluorine-containing Wastewater Using Calcium as a Precipitant for Its Reuse)

  • 불소함유 폐수의 처리 후의 재사용 방안과 관련하여 칼슘을 침전제로 한 침전법에 의한 불소제거양상에 관해 조사하였다. 초기 불소농도를 10 mM로 고정한 상태에서 pH 4의 조건에서 칼슘 첨가에 따른 불소의 제거는 반응개시 수 분 이내에 신속히 진행되었으며 반응속도론적으로 2차 반응을 따르는 것으로 파악되었다. 또한 첨가된 칼슘의 양이 증가할수록 반응속도상수가 커지는 것으로 관찰되었다. pH 4에서의 불소제거율을 최대제거율로 설정한 상태에서 pH 2 및 pH 3의 조건에서 칼슘을 당량비 이상으로 첨가하여 불소의 제거율을 관찰한 결과, 칼슘의 첨가량이 당량비의 10 배로 첨가되었을 때 pH 2에 대해서는 불소제거율이 약 70%,그리고 pH 3에서는 약 96%의 불소가 제거되는 것으로 나타났다. 온도의 증가시 칼슘 첨가에 따른 불소의 제거율은 상승하여 침전반응은 흡열반응의 특성을 나타내었다. 불소폐수에 $SiF_6{^{2-}}$가 공존할 경우 불소의 제거율은 감소하였으며 침전반응에 의해 형성된 침전물의 등전점은 pH 5 부근인 것으로 파악되었다.

  • A fluorine solution was used to measure the growth of S.mutans and the pH changes were also measured in order to find an effective and preventative dentistry lab within a limited time for the dental hygiene department curriculum and the following results were obtained. 1. In the growth comparison of S.mutans, the culture medium of the experiment group with fluorine weighed 0.3g and the culture medium with no fluorine weighed 0.5g, which shows that the growth rate of S.mutans is significantly decreased in the culture medium with the fluorine. 2. The pH7.8 of the culture medium was not nearly changed; it became 7.0 after culturing with fluoride, however the pH was significantly decreased to 3 in the culture medium that had no fluorine. 3. Since it has been proven that the fluorine can control the growth of germs, it is believed that the effect of fluorine as a cavity preventative should be emphasized to students and in addition, it will help students transmit the effect of fluoride to their patients since this knowledge has been acquired through practice. 4. It is considered that this is a simple test protocol providing effective results in the microorganism and preventive dentistry lab within a limited time and furthermore, it will furnish the students of dental hygiene with comprehensive accessibility to dental hygiene curriculum.

  • 들뜬 상태 HF* 분자으 형광세기를 측정하여 불소-수소 연소 유도에 의한 HF 레이저발진을 위한 조업조언을 논하였다. 불소원자 생산을 위한 적정 불소 주입 조건은 수소연료 주입 몰(mole)수의 두 배이었다. 들뜬 상태 HF*분자 생산을 위하여 슬릿형태의 이차원적 구조를 가지는 연소노즐을 이용하였으며, 이차 수소연료의 주입 몰수가 불소기체 주입 몰수의 1.3배 일 경우 들뜬 상태 HF* 분자의 형광세기는 최대를 나타내었다.

  • Geochemical investigation of river waters and reservoirs in Seoul city on fluorine contents were conducted between June in 1969 and February in 1970. Fluorine contents of most river waters and reservoirs in Seoul city were between 0.09 and 0.32 mg/l. It was found that fluorine contents of Han River and rivers running through the outskirt of the city were relatively less than those of the river waters running through the residential areas and the industrial areas. Fluorine contents were less seasonally variable than chlorine ones. Some implications of those results were discussed in detail.

  • This study was conducted by the Dept. of Preventive Medicine, Kyung Hee University, School of Medicine as a preliminary test for the effects of Fluorine Compounds to the Plants from April through August, 1971. Fluorine was measured with Zirconium-Alizarine method and the following findings could be obtained: 1. Most high densities (25.7 pptm) was found around the industrial areas and lowest (19.3 pptm) around residential sections in Seoul. 2. Average density of Fluorine in the atmosphere of Seoul City was 22.3 pptm which can damage such plants as Pine, Strawberry, Peach and Grapes. 3. Fluorine contents (22.3 pptin) in Seoul area atmosphere shows about 4 times more than that of Cincinnati, Ohio, U. S. A.

Dopping Effect of Fluorine Atom on the Superconductivity of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}F_y$

  • The normal and fluorinated high-Tc superconducting materials, $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}F_y$with $0.25{\leq}x{\leq}0.55\;and\;0.00{\leq}y{\leq}0.30$, were synthesized to investigate the dopping effect of fluorine atom on the superconductivity of Y123 and studied by X-ray diffraction analysis and electron probe microanalysis, resistivity and thermopower measurements, and polarized micro-Raman spectroscopy. The reproducible micro-Raman spectra were recorded and analyzed. The coherent assignments could be suggested for the spectra of normal and fluorinated samples. The fluorine atoms introduced were found to be substituted for oxygen in pyramidal Cu-O units rather than in Cu-O chains. The unit cell parameters were decreased upon the substitution of oxygen by fluorine atom. From the decreasing cell parameters and Tc, the increasing thermopower, and the possible assignments of the vibrational modes, it could be suggested that the dopping of fluorine atom localizes the superconducting electrons in Y123.

  • High density plasma fluorinated silicate glass (HDP FSG) is used as a gap fill film for metal-to-metal space because of many advantages. However, FSG films can cause critical problems such as bonding issue of top metal at package, metal contamination, metal peel-off, and so on. It is known that these problems are caused by fluorine penetration out of FSG film. To prevent it, FSG capping layers such like SRO (Silicon Rich Oxide) are needed. In this study, their characteristics and a capability to block fluorine penetration for various FSG capping layers are investigated. Normal stress and High stress due to denser film. While heat treatment to PETEOS caused lower blocking against fluorine penetration, it had insignificant effect on SiN. Compared with other layers, SRO using ARC chamber and SiN were shown a better performance to block fluorine penetration.
