Prediction of the Compressive Strength of High Flowing Concrete by Maturity (적산온도에 의한 고유동콘크리트의 압축강도 예측)

  • The aim of this study is to compare the development of compressive strength of high-Flowing concrete with maturity and to investigate the applicability of strength prediction models of concrete. An experiment was attempted on the high-flowing concrete mixes using Ordinary portland cement, High belite cement, Blast furance slage cement and replaced Fly-ash of 30% by weight of Ordinary portland cement, the water-binder ratios of mixes being 0.35 and the curing temperatures being 30, 20, 10, 5$^{\circ}C$. Test results of mixes are statistically analyzed to infer the correlation coefficient between the maturity and the compressive strength of high-flowing concrete.

  • In this study, several rheological properties of binder pastes and concrete are investigated for the development of commercially available fly ash super-flowing concrete. Fly ash contents with 5 leves(0, 10, 20, 30, 40%), slag contents with 6 levels(0, 5, 15, 25, 35, 45%), and water-binder ratios with 4 levels(30, 33, 36, 39%) are selected for test variables to evaluate the super-flowing characteristics of binder pastes. For the estimation of the workability of super-flowing concrete, slump flow, funnel time, box height, and L-flow are measured and compared. As the results, the flow is decreased and the viscosity is increased with increasing fly ash content. Super-flowing concrete is succesfully produced with 30% fly ash replacement.

  • This is the study on the performance of workability and engneering properties of flowing concrete using the superplasticizers, which are being used for control of the consistency of fresh concrete without modifying the properties of the hardened concrete and for production of high quality concrete at a low water-cement ratio. It is the aim of this study to analyze and investigate workability and engineering properties of flowing concrete according to the addition rate in poor and rich mix proportions of base concrete. Base on this fundamental investigation for the development of flowing concrete mix design, it could be drawn that the workability and engineering properties of flowing concreteare influenced greatly by mix proportion and dosage of superplasticizers.

  • In this paper, we decribed the basic elements required for the practical usage of super flowing concrete. The flowability and filingability of fresh concrete was measured by using six different testing methods. Also, two actual size members were used for investigating characteristics of the hardened concrete through variious experiments. As the result of the experimentation, the developed super flowing concrete shown high flowability and fillingability good enough for the requirement. Furthermore, inner uniformity of the no-vibrated concrete was verified by testing distribution of aggregates and core cylinders. Therefore, quality control and workability of concrete can be secured by using the super flowing concrete even without vibrating However, it ha been felt that development of easy evaluation methods for the super flowing concrete is in need.

  • In the mixing proportion of high flowing concrete we have to use quantity of power such as cement and superplasticizer, and increase the proportion of fine aggregate more than that of plain concrete to increase flowability and segregation resistance. Therefore, the fresh state of high flowing concrete is largely affected by superplasticizer and change of grade the percentage of surface water. This study aims at development of self-filling up high flowing concrete without compaction, in case of using the fine aggregate of standard grade range, by examination on the influence of fresh state of high flowing concrete, and by understanding influence on various fluidity such as flowability, reinforcement passibility, fillingability, segregation resistance.

  • This study is the experimental results on the applicability of the super flowing concrete, which is the pre-cast concrete, to various cases. The primary purpose of this study is to verify the demolding strength, the handling strength of the super flowing concrete at various curing conditions, and the site quality control of the DWS (Daewoo Multi-Room Modular Construction System). From the experimental works, required strength and curing cycles are satisfied. Furthermore site quality control details and quality of the pre-cast concrete using the super flowing concrete are obtained. From now on, this study may suggest how to apply the super flowing concrete for common circumstance.

  • This study investigated about several mix factors came up to drying shrinkage and carbonation of high flowing concrete using viscosity. The results are as follows; Drying shrinkage ratio of high flowing concrete using viscosity showed higher for early age, but lower than normal concrete as long age. Also, drying shrinkage ratio and reduction ratio of mass showed higher and relative dynamic modulus of elasticty showed lower as W/C was higher generally. And in case of high flowing concrete using viscosity, carbonation wasn't confirmed without the kinds of cement and viscosity except 50C.

CAI Program Development on Flowing Rivers and How Primary StudentsC Concepts Change through This Program (′흐르는 강′에 대한 CAI 프로그램 개발 및 그 프로그램이 초등학생들의 개념변화에 미치는 효과)

  • This study is intended to develop a CAI program on the topic of flowing rivers and to investigate how 4th grade students' concepts of it change through this program. The CAI program is made using the GREAT II copyright tool based on a typical 4th grade science Korean textbook. This program consists of 5 sections, which are introduction, rain waters, running waters, river waters, and activity. All contents are animated. Students are 30 4th grade students. One instrument is used how to investigate the concept change of the flowing rivers. The instrument is called the Identification of Flowing River Concept Test(IFRCT, Appendix), which is of a two-tier type and has 8 items. Data are collected before and after the instruction using this program. Data are classified as a scientific model, a naive model, or a "no" model, based on criteria used by Vosniadou(1989). Data are compared. The results show that 4th grade students after the instruction using this program hold a more scientific model on the flowing rivers, than before the instruction using this program. Therefore, the author urges science teachers to use the CAI program to teach students about the flowing rivers.

Development and Property Analysis of Segregation-Reducing Type Flowing Concrete Using the Viscosity Agent (증점제를 이용한 분리저감형 유동화 콘크리트의 개발 및 그 특성분석)

  • When superplasticizer is added to manufacture flowing concrete, the base concrete usually needs the adjustment to assure the sufficient fines contained to obtain flowable consistency without excessive bleeding or segregation. However, this may not only increase the cost, but also cause inconvenience in producing the base concrete. In this paper, the experiments are performed on normal base concrete to achieve a segregation-reducing flowing concrete by adding superplasticizer mixed with viscosity agents and AE admixtures. Three kinds of superplasticizer and two kinds of viscosity agent are selected. According to the results, with regard to the performance and cost of the admixtures, melamine type superplasticizer combined with the PEO viscosity agent and AE admixtures at the ratio 1:0.28:0.001 can acquire good quality and reduce the cost in producing the flowing concrete. With proper addition of combined superplasticizer, even though water to cement ratios of the base concrete are different, the segregation-reducing flowing concrete could be also achieved without reproportioning of the base concrete. However, it would be more desirable if the superplasticizer could be adjusted, before it is put into the practical use in order not to cause some other problems, such as rapid rate of slump loss and retarding of setting time.

Field Application of the Flowing Concrete Method Considering Value Engineering(V.E) Concept (VE기법으로 유동화 공법 도입에 대한 현장 적용성 연구)

  • This study investigates field application of flowing concrete in order to improve workability, duality and economic evaluation of concrete. Test results showed that slump of fresh concrete satisfied the target value before and after flowing concrete, and setting time indicated 3 hours difference depending on the mixture proportion of ready-mixed-concrete company. As for the hardened concrete, compressive strength of standard curing specimens, both control and flowing concrete, presented designed value at 28 days elapse. However, the specimens curing at atmosphere decreased the value, due to the lower curing temperature, but also performed the designed value at 91 days. For the evaluation of construction fee by value engineering(V.E) concept, a flowing method declined 4.89% of concrete construction fee, which is 4.9% reduction for materials and 25% reduction for labor expenses, compared with previous construction methods.
