In this paper, the fluid flow and stirring in a rectangular tank focussing on the effect of the plate length is studied numerically and experimentally. the flow model and the method of analysis are the same as those reported previously. The stirring effect changes considerably when the plate length is varied. When the plate is short, the friction at the bottom wall reduces the strength of the vortical flow resulting in a lower stirring effect. When the plate is long, the stirring effect is decreased due to the growth of the regular regions near the lower corners. The stirring effect is the best when the plate length is roughly half the width of the container.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of democratic and autocratic behavior type of dance art instructors in elementary dance education on class satisfaction focused on mediations of flow and perceived competence. A total of 500 questionnaires were distributed but insincerely replied or double-replied questionnaires were excluded and finally 453 questionnaires were analyzed for this study. For the analysis of the data, SPSS 18.0 version was used and double mediation model operating in serial, proposed by Hayes and a bootstrapping method were used. First, instructor's democratic behavior type was statistically positive effect on class satisfaction. However autocratic behavior type was statistically negative effect. Second, the indirect effect of instructor's democratic type and autocratic behavior type on class satisfaction through the flow were statistically positive significant. Third, the indirect effect of instructor's democratic behavior type on class satisfaction through the perceived competence was statistically significant. However autocratic behavior type was statistically negative effect. Lastly, the indirect effect of instructor's democratic and autocratic behavior types on class satisfaction through the flow and perceived competence were statistically positive significant.
One of noticeable features in the cross flow fan is that a working fluid passes through impeller blade twice without distinction between the inlet and exit angles. Also, it does produce higher circumferential velocity than other types of blade at the same flow rate in accordance with the application of the forward curved shape. However, a design theory for the cross-flow fall has not yet been formed owing to an eccentric vortex, which is the remarkable characteristics, occurred in a cross-flow fan. Furthermore, the eccentric vortex, which is difficult to control the size and position, is the important cause of performance decrease. In this study, experiments we carried out to estimate the similarity of the cross-flow fan with various scales and rotational velocity changes. Pressure coefficients to flow coefficients with various scales of the cross-flow fan are plotted to the application of the general similarity law of the turbomachinery in the cross-flow fan with Archimedes spiral, which is the important factor having an effect on it.

The experiment is conducted on the rapidly rotating incompressible flow within a confined cylinder using LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimetry). The configurations of interest are the flows between a rotating upper disk with a bar and a stationary lower disk enclosed within a cylinder. The flow is considered to be an axisymmetric undisturbed basic flow. The results show that the flow is strongly dependent on the radius and the shape of bar but is negligibly affected by the Reynolds number in turbulent flow. It is observed that in the lid-driven case the main forms near the wall as the Reynolds number increases. The thin bar causes the second axial flow due to the suction effect and the thick bar causes the main flow to be pulled toward the surface of the bar. The step bar shows the dual effect of the two. 1:2 tilt bar shows that the main flow distributes wider than the other cases in which interference occurs due step bar.
Mass flow amplifier, which is an aerodynamic device, makes air flow increased by ejecting small amount of compressed air with $Coand{\breve{a}}$ effect. In this study, the flow characteristics of a mass flow amplifier were studied with various flow conditions and geometrical configurations. In order to improve the performance of mass flow amplifier, various values of clearance, diffuser angle and the aspect ratio of induced flow inlet to outlet were considered as design parameter. Furthermore, four different pressure conditions of compressed air were also considered. Numerical study was performed using the commercial CFD code, ANSYS CFX 14.5 with shear stress transport(SST) turbulent model. The results of pressure and velocity distributions were graphically depicted with different geometrical configurations and operating conditions.
Orifice flow meters are frequently used for measuring gas flow in gas industry. However, to insure the accuracy of the measurement, a certain length of the meter run at the upstream of the flow meter is required. The objective of this study is to analyze flow measurement errors of the orifice flow meter quantitatively for shorter lengths of the meter runs than those suggested in the standard manuals with variation of diameter ratio( $\beta$ ratio) and flow rate. The test results showed that the flow measurement errors of the orifice meter were inversely proportional to the diameter ratio. In other words, when the diameter ratio is 0.3 and 0.7, the measurement error is $-7.3\%$ and $-3.5\%$, respectively. the main reason of the measurement error is due to the swirl effect from the configuration of the meter run at the upstream of the flow meter. In case the length of the meter run is shorter than that suggested in the standard manuals, the swirl effect is not removed completely and it affects the flow meter's performance. As mentioned above, the less the pipe diameter ratio, the more the flow measurement error. It means that the swirl effect on the orifice meter increases as the $\beta$ ratio decreases.
Ren et al. analyzed the performance of the indirect evaporative cooler according to the direction of the flow considering evaporation water flow and wetness. However the effect of NTU of each channel on the performance of the indirect evaporative cooler according to the direction of the flow was not analyzed exactly. In this study the effect of the direction of the flow on the Indirect evaporative cooling performance changing NTU of each channel are investigated theoretically. The cooling process of the indirect evaporative cooler by flow direction is modeled into a set of linear differential equations and solved to obtain the exact solutions to the temperatures of the hot fluid, the moist air, and evaporation water. Based on the exact solution in the case of different NTU of each channel, we study the change of the distribution of the temperature according to each flow direction and at the same time analyze the effect of the flow direction on the cooling performance.
Two-dimensional, angle-resolved LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimetry) measurements of the turbulent rotating flow field in a confined cylinder have been performed. The configurations of interest are flows between a rotating upper disk with a rod attached by a disk or impeller(${\theta}= 90^{\circ},\;45^{\circ}$) and a stationary lower disk in a confined cylinder. The mean flow velocity as well as the turbulent intensity of the flow field have been measured. The results show that the flow is strongly dependent on the position of the impellers or the disk, negligibly affected by the Reynolds number in turbulent flow. It is observed that the mixing effect of the axial flow impeller(${\theta}= 45^{\circ}$) is better than that of the radial flow impeller(${\theta}= 90^{\circ}$) or a disk.
A theoretical model was developed for rotary kiln and computational study was conducted to find the effect of feeding characteristics. One dimensional model with the variations of heating distribution, length of heating zone, excess air ratio and revolution was considered. The comparison of parallel-flow rotary kiln with that of counter-flow was conducted. For parallel-flow type, it is found that the variation of temperature of solid is not great for the zone that is following flame-heating zone. This zone is good to take the special treatment because thermal deviation is small and contacting time is enough for another treatment. Increase of excess air ratio have the effect of decreasing solid temperature. But this effect of decreasing solid temperature goes small for the great excess air ratio. The heating is efficient for the flame which has the maximum heating at the central region of the full length.

In practice, cavitation phenomena occur in unbounded flows. However, the wall effect is unavoidable during experiments at a closed section such as a cavitation tunnel. Especially, supercavity generated behind a cavitator is relatively large and thick, so that geometric and dynamic characteristics of the cavity are affected by the tunnel wall. In order to apply experimental results into the unbounded flow field, physical correlations are necessary. In this paper, we proposed an image method based on a potential flow to simulate the wall effect. Considering two-dimensional wedge-shaped bodies, configurations and drag characteristics of the cavity were examined according to the distance ratio to the wall surface. The results were compared and verified with existing theoretical and experimental results.
