A Study on the Computer Simulation of Ink Flow in the Reverse Offset Printing (Reverse Offset에서 잉크 전이 유동에 관한 시뮬레이션 연구)

  • With the development of many display technologies currently applied to them in the field of printed electronics, there have been many researches that high resolution printing for thin and uniform pattern. In this paper, printing ink flow properties in the reverse offset mechanism were simulated. The aim of this research is to expect the ink flow behavior between cliches to make fine pattern by a printing technique which is a reverse offset. The simulation results show that almost the same as the experiments and the flow behavior according to the ink film thickness and printing pressure changes could be expected.

Multi-Region Model of Solute Transport in Soil for the Preferential Flow (Preferential 흐름에 의한 토양내의 다영역 용질이동 모델)

  • A multi-region model for solute transport through saturated soils has been developed to describe preferential flow. The model consists of numerous discrete pore groups, which are characterized by a discrete dispersion coefficient, flow velocity, and porosity . The hydraulic properties for each pore group are derived from a soil's hydraluic conductivity and soil water characteristic functions . Flow in pore group is described by the classical advection-disersion equation (ADE). An implict finite difference scheme was applied to the governing equation that results in a block-tridiagonal system of equations that is very efficient and allows the soil to be divided into any number of pore groups. The numerical technique is derived from methods used to solve coupled equations in fluid dynamics problems and can also be applied to the transport of interacting solutes. The results of the model are compared to the experimental data from published papers. This paper contributes on the characteristics of the method when applied to the parallel porosity model to describe preferential flow of solutes in soil.

  • The wavelike flow mark phenomenon is one of the surface defects that can arise during the injection stage of the injection molding process. We have performed a numerical analysis using a finite element method for the injection molding to verify the validity of “Go-over” hypothesis. Also, we have compared the results of numerical analysis with available experimental data. Numerical analysis results of the flow marks are qualitatively in good agreement with experimental data of reference, but are quantitatively deviated from experimental data in a consistent manner. A parametric study has been performed to examine the correlative effects of various injection molding processing parameters and material properties on the flow mark size.

  • The rheological properties of exopolysaccharide(EPS-R) produced by marine bacteria Hahella chjuensis KCTC 2395 was investigated. EPS-R solution showed a characteristic non-Newtonian behavior fluid properties. In aqueose dispersions of EPS-R 1%, consistency index(K) and flow behavior index(n) were 1,410 cp and 0.73. EPS-R solution was pseudoplastic fluid by power-low model. Rheological propertie of EPS-R was found to be influenced by the concentration of salt, pH, temperature and ionic compounds.

  • In this paper, the properties of cement mortar used recycled aggregate are analyzed and compared with river and crushed sand mortar. Recycled aggregates are made by crushing wasted concrete had various compressive strength, and test items are the properties of fresh mortar, hardened mortar and durability. According to the experimental results, flow, unitweight, strength and durability of cement mortar used recycled aggregates decrease compared with those of river and crushed sand mortar.

  • The changes of physical properties of portland cement pastes and mortars were investigated by addition of sodium gluconate. Flow table experiment and viscosity measurement were took in order to find dispersing effect, and time-dependent changesof viscosity and rates of hydration heat evolution were carried out for the sake of finding retardation effect of hydration. And changes of physical properties of cement pastes and mortars were discussed by setting time, compressive strength and porosity.

  • Analytical solutions are obtained for the director reorientation dynamics of both VA and IPS modes by considering a possible effect of the molecular flow, providing a theoretical basis of the relations between the response characteristics of the display and the physical properties of the liquid crystal material used. The relevant properties of practical liquid crystal mixtures are quantitatively reviewed and the features of superior substances, used in formulating those mixtures, are presented.

A microscopic study on the rheological properties of human blood in low concentration limit

  • A microscopic theoretical study is performed to predict the rheological properties of human blood in the low concentration limit. The shear thinning behavior of blood in the low shear limit is studied by considering the aggregate formation of red blood cells, which is called the rouleaux formation. Then the constitutive equations of blood in the high shear limit are derived for various flow situations by considering the unique features of deformation of blood cells. Specifically, the effects of the surface-area-preserving constraint and the lank-treading motion of blood cells on the rheological properties are studied.

  • The characterization of pore properties (mean pore size and pore size distribution) of the active layer in a UF membrane is important not only in order to obtain information about the factors affecting pore formation during membrane manufacturing but also to understand deeply the mechanism of solute and solvent transport through pores. Many methods of characterizing quantitatively the pore properties of UF membranes have been suggested in the literature: solvent and gas flow measurement, bubble point determination, electron microscopy, gas adsorption/desorption measurement, rejection measurement etc. But most of these methods involve time-consuming procedures and involve some wellknown problems and uncertainties.

  • Premixes treated with a binder, such as in the FLOMET process, exhibit better flow, reduced dusting and segregation and improved productivity and part consistency compared to conventional premixes. The binder treatment is highly suitable for high performance P/M applications which often require premixes containing very fine alloying additives and excellent die filling characteristics. With this process, various binders and lubricants can be utilized in order to make premixes with unique properties. In this paper, the characteristics and performances of bonded premixes are reported.
