혈류 방향을 구별하는 연속 초음파 도플러 장치에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of CW(Continuous-Wave)Doppler System for measuring Bi-directional Blood Flow Information)

  • With the conventional CW Doppler velocity meter, bl-directional velocities cannot be separated. The new CW Doppler system uses quadrature detection and phase rotation to produce simultaneous independent audio and velocity signals for forward and reverse blood flow direction, is fabricated. Specially, this system shows that phase rotation method for flow direction separation provides easy and satisfactory feature. From in vivo blood flow measurement, we can easily differentiate typical artery flow from vein flow, and measure both velocity characteristics qualitatively.

배관내 압력변동 신호를 이용한 유량 추정 방법 연구 (A Study on Flow Rate Estimation Using Pressure Fluctuation Signals in Pipe)

  • In nuclear power plants, the flow rate information is a major indicator of the performance of rotating equipment such as pumps, and is a very important one required for facility operation and maintenance. To measure a flow rate, various types of methods have been developed and used. Among them, the differential pressure type using orifice and the direct doppler type using ultrasonic waves are the most commonly used. However, these flow rate measurement methods have limitations in installation, conditions and status of the measuring part, etc. To solve this problem, we have studied a new technique for measuring flow rate from scratch. In this paper, we have devised a technique to estimate the flow rate using an average moving velocity of large-scale eddy in turbulence that occurs in the piping flow field. The velocity of the large-scale eddy can be measured using the pressure fluctuation signals on the inner surface of the pipe. To estimate the flow rate, at first a cross-correlation function is applied to the two pressure fluctuation signals located at different positions in the down stream for calculating the time delay between the moving eddies. In order to validate the proposed flow rate estimation method, CFD analyses for the internal turbulence flow in pipe are conducted with a fixed flow condition, where the pressure fluctuation signals on the pipe inner surface are simulated. And then the average flow velocity of the large scale eddy is to be estimated. The estimated flow velocity is turned out to be similar to the fixed (known) flow rate.

엔진대상시험을 통한 텀블측정방식의 상관성 및 유의성에 관한 연구 (Correlations among Different Tumble Measuring Methods and Significance of Tumble Ratios from Steady Flow Rig on SI Engine Combustion)

  • Optimizing in-cylinder flow such as tumble or swirl is one of the key factors to develop better internal combustion engines. Especially, the tumble, which is more dominant flow in current high performance gasoline engines, has significant effects on the fuel consumptions and exhaust emissions under part load conditions. The first step for the tumble optimization is to find an accurate but cost-effective way to measure the tumble ratio. From this point of view, tumble ratios from three different measuring methods were compared and correlated in this research. Steady flow rig, water rig, and PIV were utilized for that purpose. Engine dynamometer test was also performed to find out the effect of the tumble. The results show that the tumble ratios from those methods are well correlated and that the steady flow rig is the effective method to measure the tumble despite its limitations.

  • 열수지 경류센서에 의한 멜론의 흡수량 측정오차는 최저 0.3%에서 최대 31.8% 범위 내에 있었으며, 일사량 20MJ.m$^{-2}$ .d$^{-1}$에서는 오차가 적었으나 일사량이 이보다 많아지면 많아질수록 센서측정 경류량이 실측양액 소비량보다 적어지는 경향이었고 일사량이 적어질수록 센서측정 경류량이 실측양액 소비량보다 많아지는 경향이었다. 센서간의 오차는 최저 0.1%에서 최대 13.0%의 오차율을 보였다. 열수지센서측정 경류량은 일사량이나 온도와 고도의 부의 상관관계를 보였다. 그러므로 이를 이용 보정계수를 산출하면 보다 정확한 멜론의 경류량을 측정할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

  • 디젤 엔진의 배기가스 유량을 측정하기 삼각 분리 막대형 차압유량계를 개발하였다. 3 종류의 삼각 막대형 차압유량계를 제작하였고 실험 평가하였다. 삼각 막대형 외부형상이 유선형에 가까울수록 차압유량계에서의 상류부 와 하류부의 차압이 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 삼각막대형 차압유량계를 사용하여 고온 및 상온 조건에서 유량 검정을 하였다. 고온 조건에서의 유량계 검정을 위해 버너를 제작하였다. 삼각막대형 상류부 및 하류부 간의 차압과 질량 유량의 실험식을 구했다. 또한 실험식은 기체 온도에 의한 보정을 포함하고 있다.

교량구조물의 측방이동 측정방법에 관한 연구 (The Measurement Method of Lateral Displacement in Bridge Abutment.)

  • This study is a suggest a measurement method of lateral displacement, which can be used to judge the stability of bridge abutment on soil undergoing lateral movement. The abutment of bridge on soft foundation makes lateral movement due to the settlement of back fill and lateral flow. To measure the displacement of such a abutment, there are a lot of indirect method for measurement such as survey of leveling or inclinometer gauge around the abutment. But all of them are not sufficient to confirm the ground behavior and measure the exact lateral behavior of structure. As making the structure and pile cooperatively by measuring the movement of lateral displacement, for measuring the abutment displacement precisely by using the inclinometer. In this work, we try to suggest efficient measuring method of abutment displacement and its application.

  • Measurement of optical flow is a core problem of matching through the analysis of image sequences. In this paper, horn's and anandan's techniques are analyzed to derive a better technique for matching. Experimental results show that Horn's technique has low accuracy in measuring the velocity of optical flow while anandan's technique has poor performaance for diverging images. Based upon this observation, a new technique for the measurement of optical flow is proposed.

  • A cost-saving feeding rate contro method for a batch reaction process is proposed by reconfigurating the flow rate control loop where the feeding rate is estimated by differentiating weight measurement. While the existing control methods require either a flow rate measurement device or a flow rate estimator, the proposed method is devised not to require neither of these facilities by directly controlling the tank weight with a time-varying set point. Experimental evaluation in a pilot-scale unit shows that the proposed method can significantly reduce the actuator hunting of the existing method where the flow rate is estimated by differentiating the weight measurement.

  • The flow field around a symmetrical airfoil in a uniform flow under the generation of noise was studied by experiments and numerical simulation. The experiments are conducted by visualizing the surface flow over the airfoil with a shear-sensitive liquid-crystal coating and by measuring the instantaneous velocity field around the trailing edge of the airfoil.   • Recent researches on nanofluids have mainly focused on the increase of thermal conductivity of nanofluids under static condition. The ultimate goal of using nanofluids, however, is to enhance the heat transfer performance under fluid flow. So it has been highly necessary to devise a simple and accurate measuring apparatus which effectively compares the heat transfer capability between the base and nanofluids. Though the convective heat transfer coefficient is not the complete index for the heat transfer capability, it might be one of useful indications of heat transfer enhancement. In this article, the working principles of experimental system for convective heat transfer coefficient around a heated fine wire in cross flow of nanofluids and its application example to three samples of nano lubrication oils are explained in detail.
