The aim of this study was evaluated the effects of total rainfall, rainfall intensity and antecedent dry days and identify the correlation analysis with the EMC removal efficiency, in order to provide an understanding of the operation and maintenance factors of constructed wetland in flood pumping station. This study was conducted total of 20 monitoring in a catchment(326.2 ha) of constructed wetland in Ga-un flood pumping station located at the downstream of the Wang-suk stream. The determined EMC removal efficiencies were $36.04{\pm}9.45%$ for BOD, $38.50{\pm}13.50%$ for $COD_{Mn}$, $34.34{\pm}13.05%$ for TN and $34.22{\pm}14.27%$ for TP, respectively. These results showed that the pollutants concentration and EMC were reduced while passing through the constructed wetland. In the correlation analysis, the highly correlations with EMC removal efficiency of BOD and $COD_{Mn}$ were observed for total rainfall and rainfall intensity (P<0.05). However, the correlations were not found with TN and TP for rainfall variables.
Attacks on existing sensor networks include sniffing, flooding, and spoofing attacks. The basic countermeasures include encryption and authentication methods and switching methods. Wormhole attack, HELLO flood attack, Sybil attack, sinkhole attack, and selective delivery attack are the attacks on the network layer in wireless sensor network (WSN). These attacks may not be defended by the basic countmeasures mentioned above. In this paper, new countermeasures against these attacks include periodic key changes and regular network monitoring. Moreover, we present various threats (attacks) in the network layer of wireless sensor networks and new countermeasures accordingly.

Camera monitoring of topographical changes of intertidal flat was performed at Daehang-ri mud flat outside Semangeum sea dike No. 1, where creation of mud flat was reported after sea dike construction. Ground survey on the mud flat is often limited only to points or few line surveys because of difficulty of walking and limitation of working hours by flood/ebb. This study uses natures of tide that the water lines moving on the intertidal flat during a flood indicate depth contours between low and high tide. Ground coordinates for the water lines extracted from the consecutive images of intertidal flat are calculated and information of topography is acquired by integrating all the water line data. Analysis of 6 camera monitoring data between September 2005 and September 2009 shows 0.127 m deposition per year on the average and variation of deposition/erosion in space and time.

It reflects well feature of slope that is characteristic of urban river basin of Busan local. In this study, process various hydrological data and basin details data which is collected through basin basis data, hydrological monitoring system(EMS-DEU) and automatic water level equipment(AWS-DEU) for urban flood disaster prevention and use as basin input data of ILLUDAS, SWMM and HEC-HMS in order to examine outflow feature of experiment basin and then use in reservoir design of experiment basin through calibration and verification about HEC-HMS. Inserted design rainfall for 30 years that is design criteria of creek into HEC-HMS and then calculated design floods according to change aspect of the impermeable rate. Capacity of reservoir was determined on the outflow mass curve. Designed detention pond(volume $54,000m^3$) at last outlet upper stream of experiment basin, after designing reservoir. It could be confirmed that the peak flow was reduced resulting from examining outflow aspect. Designing reservoir must decrease outflow of urban areas.
Environmental downtime produces a significant cost to organizations and makes them unable to do business because what happens in the data center affects everyone. In addition, the amount of electrical energy consumed by data centers increases with the amount of computing power installed. Installation of physical Information Technology and facilities related to environmental concerns, such as monitoring temperature, humidity, power, flood, smoke, air flow, and room entry, is the most proactive way to reduce the unnecessary costs of expensive hardware replacement or unplanned downtime and decrease energy consumed by servers. In this paper, we present remote system for monitoring datacenter implementing using open-source hardware platforms; Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and the Gobetwino. The sensed data displayed through Arduino are transferred using Gobetwino to the nearest host server such as temperature, humidity and distance every time an object hitting another object or a person coming in entrance. The raspberry Pi records the sensed data at the remote location. The objective of collecting temperature and humidity data allows monitoring of the server's health and getting alerts if things start to go wrong. When the temperature hits $50^{\circ}C$, the supervisor at remote headquarters would get a SMS, and then they would take appropriate actions to reduce electrical costs and preserve functionality of servers in data centers.
This paper proposed an realtime total monitoring platform for various kind of multi weather radars to analyze and predict weather phenomenons and prevent meteorological disasters. Our platform is designed to process each weather radar data on each radar site to minimize overloads from conversion and transmission of large volumed radar data, and to set observers up the definitive radar data via public framework server separately. By proposed method, weather radar data having different spatial or temporal resolutions can be automatically synchronized with there own spatio-temporal domains on public GIS platform having only one spatio-temporal criterion. Simulation result shows that our method facilitates the realtime weather monitoring from weather radars having various spatio-temporal resolutions without other data synchronization or assimilation processes. Moreover, since this platform doesn't require some additional computer equipments or high-technical mechanisms it has economic efficiency for it's systemic constructions.
Bridge scour is the predominant cause of overwater bridge failures in North America and around the world. Several sensing systems have been developed over the years to detect the extent of scour so that preventative actions can be performed in a timely manner. These sensing systems have drawbacks, such as signal inaccuracy and discontinuity, installation difficulty, and high cost. Therefore, attempts to develop more efficient monitoring schemes continue. In this study, the viability of using optical dissolved oxygen (DO) probes for monitoring scour depths was explored. DO levels are very low in streambed sediments, as compared to the standard level of oxygen in flowing water. Therefore, scour depths can be determined by installing sensors to monitor DO levels at various depths along the buried length of a bridge pier or abutment. The measured DO is negligible when a sensor is buried but would increase significantly once scour occurs and exposes the sensor to flowing water. A set of experiments was conducted in which four dissolved oxygen probes were embedded at different soil depths in the vicinity of a mock bridge pier inside a laboratory flume simulating scour conditions. The results confirmed that DO levels jumped drastically when sensors became exposed during scour hole evolution, thereby providing discrete measurements of the maximum scour depth. Moreover, the DO probes could detect any subsequent refilling of the scour hole through the deposition of sediments. The effect of soil permeability on the sensing response time was also investigated.

In recent years satellite data have been increasingly used for the analysis of floodprone areas. This study was carried out to demonstrate the usefulness of repetitive satellite imagery in monitoring flood levels of the Pyungchang watershed. Runoff characteristics parameters were analyzed by Soil Conservation Service(SCS) Runoff Curve Number(RCN) based on Landsat imagery and Digital Terrain Model data. The RCN average within the watershed was calculated from RCN estimates for all the pixels(picture elements) and adjusted by antecedent precipitation conditions. The direct runoff hydrograph was derived from the unit hydrograph using SCS dimensionless unit hydrograph and effective rainfalls estimated by the SCS method. In comparsion of the direct runoff hydrograph with the measured rating curve their peak times differ by one hour and peak discharges differ by 5.9 percents of the discharge from each other. It was shown that repetitive satellite image could be very useful in timely estimating watershed runoffs and evaluating ever-changing surface conditions of a river basin.
In this study, we applied the Radar-AWS Rainrates (RAR), weather radar-based quantitative precipitation estimations (QPEs), to the Yongdam study watershed in order to perform the flood runoff simulation and calculate the inflow of the dam during flood events using hydrologic model. Since the Yongdam study watershed is a representative area of the mountainous terrain in South Korea and has a relatively large number of monitoring stations (water level/flow) and data compared to other dam watershed, an accurate analysis of the time and space variability of radar rainfall in the mountainous dam watershed can be examined in the flood modeling. HEC-HMS, which is a relatively simple model for adopting spatially distributed rainfall, was applied to the hydrological simulations using HEC-GeoHMS and ModClark method with a total of eight independent flood events that occurred during the last five years (2014 to 2018). In addition, two NCL and Python script programs are developed to process the radar-based precipitation data for the use of hydrological modeling. The results demonstrate that the RAR QPEs shows rather underestimate trends in larger values for validation against gauged observations (R2 0.86), but is an adequate input to apply flood runoff simulation efficiently for a dam watershed, showing relatively good model performance (ENS 0.86, R2 0.87, and PBIAS 7.49%) with less requirements for the calibration of transform and routing parameters than the spatially averaged model simulations in HEC-HMS.
