T-50 supersonic jet trainer aircraft using digital flight-by-wire flight control system receives aircraft flight conditions such as altitude, VCAS(Calibrated Airspeed) and Angle of Attack from IMFP(Integrated Multi-Function Probe). IMFP sensors information have triplex structure using three IMFP sensors. Air-data selection logic is mid-value selection in three information from three IMFP sensors in order to have more reliability. From supersonic flight test at high altitude, air-data information is dropped simultaneously because of supersonic shock wave effect. This error information may affect to aircraft stability and safety in supersonic area at low altitude. This paper propose that sensitivity analysis and HQS(Handling Quality Simulator) pilot simulation in order to analyze flight stability and controllability in supersonic area at low altitude when these information is applied to flight control law.

A synthesis of fuzzy variable structure control is proposed to design a high-angle-of-attack flight system for a modification version of the F-18 aircraft. The knowledge of the proportional, integral, and derivative control is combined into the fuzzy control that addresses both the highly nonlinear aerodynamic characteristics of elevators and the control limit of thrust vectoring nozzles. A simple gain scheduling method with multi-layered fuzzy rules is adopted to obtain an appropriate blend of elevator and thrust vectoring commands in the wide operating range. Improving the computational efficiency, an accelerated kernel for on-line fuzzy reasoning is also proposed. The resulting control system achieves the good flying quantities during a high-angle-of- attack excursion. Thus the fuzzy logic can afford the control engineer a flexible means of deriving effective control laws in the nonlinear flight regime.

The objective of this paper is to present trajectory guidance and control system with a dynamic inversion for a small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The UAV model is expressed by fixed-mass rigid-body six-degree-of-freedom equations of motion, which include the detailed aerodynamic coefficients, the engine model and the actuator models that have lags and limits. A trajectory is generated from the given waypoints using cubic spline functions of a flight distance. The commanded values of an angle of attack, a sideslip angle, a bank angle and a thrust, are calculated from guidance forces to trace the flight trajectory. To adapt various waypoint locations, a proportional navigation is combined with the guidance system. By the decision logic, appropriate guidance law is selected. The flight control system to achieve the commands is designed using a dynamic inversion approach. For a dynamic inversion controller we use the two-timescale assumption that separates the fast dynamics, involving the angular rates of the aircraft, from the slow dynamics, which include angle of attack, sideslip angle, and bank angle. Some numerical simulations are conducted to see the performance of the proposed guidance and control system.
This paper deals with a problem of automatic landing guidance and control system design. The auto-landing control system for the longitudinal motion is designed in the classical PID controller. The controller gains are properly adapted to variation of the performance using fuzzy logic as a gain scheduler for the PID gains. This control logic is applied to the problem of the automatic landing control system design. From the numerical simulation using the 6DOF nonlinear model of the associated airplane, it is shown that the auto-landing maneuver is successfully achieved from the start of the flight conditions: 1500 ft altitude, 250 ft/sec airspeed and zero flight path angle.

A formation flight guidance logic that enables the leader-follower station keeping between two UAVs is presented in this paper. The logic is motivated by the investigation of the relation between the proportional navigation and the nonlinear trajectory tracking guidance law, The simplicity of the presented method provides computational efficiency and allows easy implementation. An excellent performance of the proposed logic is demonstrated via various numerical simulations for multiple UAVs environment.

The flight control system utilize RSS(Relaxed Static Stability) criteria in both longitudinal axes to achieve performance enhancements and improve stability. The aircraft using digital flight-by-wire flight control system receives aircraft flight conditions such as pitch, roll and yaw rate, normal acceleration from RSA(Rate Sensor Assembly) and ASA(Acceleration Sensor Assembly). These sensors has permissible measurement error related to system safety of an aircraft but, unexpected flight motions are happened by sensing errors such as offset, noise and etc. The unexpected pitch down tendency occurred by ASA sensor bias in 1g level flight with pilot hands-off. This paper addresses the design and verification of flight control law to improve of pitch down or up tendency caused by ASA sensor bias. The result of analysis and flight test reveals that pitch down tendency can be improved by pitch attitude feedback system.

This paper proposes a guidance law for missiles with control time constraint. Because the proposed guidance law is based on a time-to-go polynomial, it has a generalized form. Also, acceleration of the proposed law converges to zero at the end of the control time, which reduces the sensitivity to the time-to-go estimation error and can increase the flight stability when the separation of the missile appears. A prediction method of the time-to-go is proposed for implementing the proposed law, and the possibility of application to the midcourse and terminal guidance phases is dealt with for exoatmospheric interception. The characteristics and performance of the proposed law are analyzed throughout various simulations.

This paper deals with the State-Dependent Riccati Equation (SDRE) Technique for the design of rotorcraft waypoint guidance. To generate the flight trajectory through multiple waypoints, we use the trigonometric spline. The controller design and its validation is based upon a level 2 simulation rotorcraft model and the designed SDRE controller is applied to the trajectory tracking problems. To verify the designed guidance law, the simulation environment of high fidelity rotorcraft model is developed using three independent PCs. This paper focuses on the validation of rotorcraft waypoint guidance law which is designed by using SDRE Controller.

Extruders are the heart of the polymer processing industry. The single most important mechanical element of a screw extruder is the screw. The proper design of the geometriy of the extruder screw is of crucial importance to the proper functioning of the extruder. If material transport instabilities occur as a result of improper screw geometry, even the most sophisticated computerized control system cannot solve the problem. For this purpose, characteristics design on helix angle of the extruder screw. This paper presents strength of the screw flight, optimum helix angle versus dimensionless down channel pressure gradient, optimum helix angle versus the power law index in simultaneous optimization, volumetric efficiency versus helix angle at various number of flights and power consumption versus helix angle in the barrel of screw extruder.

Modem version of supersonic jet fighter aircraft must have been guaranteed appropriate controllability and stability in HAoA(High Angle of Attack). The HAoA flight control law have two parts, one is control law of departure prevention and the other is control law of departure recovery support. The control laws of departure prevention for advanced jet trainer consist of HAoA limiter, roll command limiter and rudder fader. The control laws of departure recovery support are consist of yaw-rate limiter and MPO(Manual Pitch Override) mode. The guideline of pitch rocking using MPO mode is simple, but operating skill of pitch rocking is very difficult by the pilot with inexperience of departure situation. Therefore, automatic deep stall recovery system is necessary. The system called the "Automatic Pitch Rocker System" or APRS, provided a pilot initiated automatic maneuver capable of an aircraft recoveries in situations of deep stall, speed and altitude. This paper addresses the design and validation for APRS to recovery of an deep stall without manual pitch rocking by the pilot. Also, this system is designed to recovery of speed, attitude and altitude after deep stall recovery using ATCS (Automatic Thrust Control System) and autopilot. Finally, this system is verified by real-time pilot evaluation using HQS (Handling Quality Simulator).
