  • '에듀테인먼트(Edutainment)'라는 용어의 등장과 함께 오늘날 게임은 새로운 교수학습매체로 관심을 끌고 있다. Morice(2000)에 의하면 오늘날 컴퓨터 게임은 교수-학습 과정에 있어 다양한 방식으로 접목되고 있으며, 실제로 사용자들이 열광하는 다양한 게임의 장르별 매력적인 요소가 학습에 접목이 가능하다고 제시하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 새로운 교육적 패러다임의 변화를 뒷받침 할 수 있는 에듀게임의 효과적인 개발을 궁극적인 목적으로 하여 진행되었다. 구체적으로, 어떻게 하면 막대한 자본이 필요하지 않은 작은 게임의 틀 속에 핵심적인 학습내용을 담아, 에듀게임을 간단하게 조작할 수 있는 툴을 이용하여 어렵지 않게 만들 수 있는가에 대한 의문에서 출발하여 기획된 시나리오와 그것을 바탕으로 제작된 캐주얼 게임을 제시함으로써 교육용 게임의 설계 방향과 활용 방안에 대한 실질적 제안을 하고자 함과 동시에 최근 인류의 생활에 깊숙이 관련되어 있는 컴퓨터 사용에 있어서 이슈가 되고 있는 개인의 정보 보호에 대한 내용을 게임의 주제로 하였으며 그 제목은 '황토의 대모험'으로 명하였다. 게임의 형식은 퀴즈게임과 어드벤처 게임의 복합 형태로, Windows 기반의 모든 종류의 운영제체를 지원하는 통합형 멀티미디어 제작 툴인 Flash MX로 구현하였다. 황토의 대모험의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상용화된 멀티미디어 제작 툴로 만들어진 저비용의 간단한 게임을 통한 학습이다. 둘째, 사용자는 다양한 문제 해결 학습을 통하여 게임에서 제공되는 제반 지식을 습득할 수 있다. 셋째, 문제 해결과정에서 정보보호에 대한 의식을 고취하고, 정보보호 방법을 학습하기 전의 기본지식을 습득할 수 있다.

  • 드럼은 현대인의 스트레스 해소와 노인 치매예방, 소아의 뇌 성장에 도움이 되는 반면, 악기의 크기가 크고 연습 시 발생하는 소음으로 인해 시간적, 공간적인 제약이 많은 악기이다. 본 논문에서는 드럼을 언제 어디서나 연습할 수 있도록 도와주는 에어 드럼 교습 시스템을 제안한다. 에어 드럼 교습 시스템은 진동센서가 부착된 드럼 스틱과 휴대폰용 어플리케이션만으로 드럼연주가 가능하다. 에어 드럼 교습 시스템은 드럼 스틱에 장착된 진동센서를 이용해 사용자의 드럼 연주 신호를 실시간으로 인지하고, 휴대폰에 설치된 모바일 어플리케이션에서 진동 신호를 드럼 연주 소리로 변환하여 출력한다. 또한 에어 드럼 교습 시스템은 사용자의 연주 패턴을 분석하여 드럼의 기본 패턴과의 박자, 음정, 세기에 대한 유사도 점수를 제시하여 사용자의 드럼 실력 향상에 도움을 준다. 이를 위해, 본 논문에서는 사용자가 연주하는 동안 진동 센서에서 인지한 신호를 하나의 박자로 구분하기 위한 제어 기술과 실시간 연주 및 유사도 점수를 제시하는 에어 드럼 교습 어플리케이션 'WeFlash'의 설계와 구현 결과를 제시한다.

  • This study put emphasis on improving the quality of lives of the elementary students with disabilities by planning and realizing software for the purpose of teaching eating habits. It tried to develop software which constantly applies and practices contents learned from content systems subordinate to practical subjects. It is mainly consisted of 'cooking and eating' among the content systems of the practical subjects in the basic curriculum. To this end, it chose four modules as their final choices, 'eating various foods, cooking happily, setting the table, and washing the dishes.' Media is in CD-ROM Title form. Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Director were used as authoring tools. Program is basically going along centering on small units. And activities in each topic are composed of thinking, investigating, and organizing order. When we applied the software, developed in this research, to 3 elementary students with disabilities using multiple probe design across subjects, it had positive effects on eating habits related functions of all participants.

  • A DC-DC converter with digital controller is realized. the digital controller has several advantages such as robustness, fast design time, and high flexibility. however, since the DC-DC output voltage is analog, an analog-to-digital conversion scheme is always essential in all digital controllers. A simple and efficient delta-sigma modulator is used as a conversion scheme in out implementation. The measurement results show good voltage regulation

  • In his paper, embedded system implementation for IEEE802.l1p based OFDM-DSRC is presented. After the IEEE802.11p physical layer specification is introduced and BER performance of the modem is evaluated by simulation, implementation aspects of the system such as system architecture, design method and implementation results are addressed. Implemented embedded system for the OFDM-DSRC communication consists of FPGA, flash memory, ARM9 CPU Core, peripherals, etc. from the results, it is shown that the implemented system operates well according to IEEE802.11p specification. It is expected that implemented embedded system shall be used for wireless communication system such as ITS application by enhancing system optimizing.

  • The SPARTAN-3E development kit is equipped with an FPGA which holds 500 thousand logic gates and a bus system platform using MicroBlaze microprocessor system. This kind of embedded systems can be used to gather information from sensor nodes and send over to the main server periodically through the network gateway, using the microprocessor-based embedded system, so that edlers living alone under sensor coverage can send their moving information and can be applied to get help in the event of emergency situations. In this paper, we designed a simple embedded system based on a CPU and flash memories using such FPGAs which can be used to monitor those elderlies living alone. The developed hardware system can be directly combined with the web-based elders-living-alone monitoring system, making the system more efficient.

  • In this paper, we describe the issues associated with implementing embedded Linux system. As an example of embedded system, a router which utilizes the powerful networking capability of Linux is implemented and the details of porting Linux to the dedicated hardware is discussed. Several efficient methods to avoid performance degradation resulted from porting lap top computer oriented Linux to embedded system are suggested. To verify the eligibility of the method to embed Linux into standalone system and to see the performance of the implemented router, comparison data with one of the most popular routers is presented.

Physical Properties of Oxide Films Formed by Plasma Anodization on Mg Alloy

  • In this work, we study physical and mechanical properties of oxide films formed on AZ91D magnesium alloy by plasma anodization at different temperatures. It is found that the higher the electrolyte temperature, the lower is the breakdown voltage of oxide layer. This is probably because films formed at higher temperatures are thinner and denser. Moreover, electrolyte temperature plays an important role in the physical properties of the films. As the electrolyte temperature increases from 20 to $50^{\circ}C$, the hardness of the oxide layer increases. Friction test against steel balls indicates that wear scars become narrower for films formed at higher temperatures because the films are harder, as indicated by the Vickers hardness. The thinner and denser nature of the oxide film formed at $50^{\circ}C$ is also advantageous for heat transfer when film is used as a heat sink. Laser flash test results show very fast heat transfer for AZ91D with plasma anodized oxide layer formed at higher temperatures.

  • Among the recent natural disasters, flood damage is concentrated in the summer, leading to casualties or property damage due to the typhoon's rainy season. Much research is being done to reduce this damage. In this paper, we design and implement a system that detects paths and provides them to users using shortest-distance algorithms in the event of such sudden flooding. The proposed system uses QGIS to detect paths using topographical data that generated tracks and pointers. In addition, other shortest paths are detected and provided to users when sudden flooding occurs during evacuation to routes detected through scenarios. Therefore, it is assumed that the proposed system will allow users to safely evacuate from the risk of future disaster safety accidents.

  • These Xenon flashlamp power supply for Ultra Violet has converter with high voltage conversion ratio. General model is composed of transformer with high voltage conversion ratio and voltage doubler rectifier circuit. Purpose of power supply leads dielectric breakdown of Xenon flashlamp and passes current rapidly. When passing current, it has to limit current to avoid over-heat, damage of electrode and acceleration of gas oxidation which are cause of performance degradation of lamps. Generally, inductors and resistors, which are called as "Ballast," are used to limit currents. Generally, Transformer has high turn ratio to make high voltages. But we can get high voltages using the transformer with low turn ratio which is driven with self resonance. Also, an advantage of self resonance is to make a circuit simply through impedance of transformer in resonance frequency which filters output voltage. As using an unique impedance of transformer, the circuit does not need other impedance elements like the ballast. So the power supply assures high efficiency of the arc discharge.
