Improving Electromagnetic Compatibility of the Infrared Flame Detector (적외선식 불꽃감지기의 전자파 적합성 개선)

  • The infrared, flame detector uses to detect fire situation from the characteristics of fire sources radiant energy. But it is able to malfunction on account of susceptible to interference of various surrounding waves. This paper is designed 6 independent PCB-boards to minimize the closed loops of siginal circuit. Also considering the interaction of electric and magnetic fields, this paper is designed protecting circuit of current and voltage output to reduced electromagnetic interference. And this paper is improving electromagnetic susceptibility by ferrite bid, capacitor filter and grounding circuits.

  • The capacity commonly required sensors includes capability of quickly and properly catching the conditions of a fire and discriminating other factors such as noise, interference, etc. IR flame detector which react to the infra-red rays emitted from the flame. This study is aimed to know the characteristic repond to the specified fire plate. Experiment is acted by manufacture's technical data that is explained relation of detective range and sensitivity.

  • In this study, the combustion characteristics were investigated with the variation of design factors on multiple slit gas burner. The design factors consist of slit height, width, spacing, and inner length. The combustion characteristics were made analysis of the CO emission and NOx emission by using CO analyzer and NOx analyzer. The lower perimeter to area and the narrow spacing extends the lift-flame limit. The CO emission increases with the increasing perimeter to area ratio at the same condition. The NOx emission is found to be less significant with the port perimeter to area ratio. The flame interference might highly depend on the spacing and port perimeter to area ratio, and it also affects the burner performance.

  • The effect of LII interference on the measurement of LIF signals from PAH in a diffusion flame has been investigated. Argon-ion laser at 488 nm was vertically or horizontally polarized, and irradiated to the centerline of the flame at varying flame height. Signals from PAH-rich regions measured at 515 nm were mostly LIF signals, however, signals from soot-rich regions were determined to be mixed with Mie scattering signals and/or LII signals. Signals measured 1 mm above the excitation height were mostly LII signals from soot particles. The results show that a quantitative determination of the LIF's contribution to the measured signals would be difficult as long as the experimental setup described here is used for the regions where PAHs and soot particles exist together.

  • A flame detector responds either to radiant energy visible to the human eye or outside the range of human vision. Such a detector is sensitive to glowing embers, coals, or flames which radiate energy of sufficient intensity and spectral quality to actuate the alarm. An infra-red detectors can respond to the total IR component of the flame alone or in combination with flame flicker in the frequency range of 5 to 30 Hz. A major problem in the use of infrared detectors receiving total IR radiation is the possible interference of solar radiation in the infrared region. When detectors are located in places shielded from the sun, such as vaults. filtering or shielding the unit from the sun's rays is unnecessary. In this study, we proposed method for redue a false alarm with using filtering & sensor technology for distinguish of causes of raise a false alarm and pure flame.

Comparison of analytical methods for quantifying total chromium in soil using Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS) and Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES) (토양 시료 중 Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) 및 Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES)를 이용한 총 크롬 분석방법 비교)

  • The accuracy of analytical results in response to the use of different additives ($NH_4Cl$, KCl, $LaCl_3$) and oxidant gases was evaluated and compared by using Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS). Identification of spectroscopic interferences and possible improvements in Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES) analysis were also discussed. The average accuracies of total chromium using Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) were found to be 72.1~94.2% in air/acetylene flame condition by AAS, and they were improved to 100.5~110.5% when the oxidants was changed to nitrous oxide rather than adding the additives. The field samples showed similar trends to CRMs, but chromium concentrations were highly variable depending on analytical conditions. The average accuracies using CRMs were estimated to be 89.3~166.1% by ICP-AES, and improved to below 121.7% after eliminating iron interference. Field samples with low chromium and high iron concentration were measured to be > 30% lower in total chromium concentrations by ICP-AES than AAS in nitrous oxide/acetylene flame. Total chromium concentrations in soil could be analyzed with better accuracy under nitrous oxide/acetylene flame by AAS because it was more effective to increase the temperature of the flame than to eliminate the chemical interference for maximizing atomization of chromium. When using ICP-AES, interference substances, total chromium levels, and analytical conditions should be also considered.

  • It is very important to improve the combustion efficiency and reduce pollutant emission in order to save energy and environment. Especially, thermal NOx has been reduced through monitoring burner flame, because the thermal NOx is strongly related to flame characteristics. In this work, a flame-monitoring system was fabricated with photodiode, optical fiber, interference filter and data acquisition system, and it was applied to a lab-scale methane combustion system and a testing facility. Flame intensity and mean frequency increased with increasing turbulent intensity and fuel loading. The sensor signal from flame fluctuations differed from that without flame, which showed the availability af the flame scanner to find the presence of flame. NOx emissions increased with flame intensity.

A Study on Measurement of NO Concentrations in Burner Flames by LIF (레이저 유도 형광법(LIF)을 이용한 버너 화염의 NO 농도측정에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, quantitative measurement of nitric oxide concentration distributions were investigated in the laminar CH4/O2/N2 premixed flame by laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). The NO A-X (0,0) vibrational band around 226nm was excited using a XeCl excimer-pumped dye laser. Selecting an appropriate NO transition minimizes interference from Rayleigh scattering and O2 fluorescence. The measurements were taken in CH4/O2/N2 premixed flame with equivalence ratios varying from $1.0{\sim}1.6$, and a fixed flowrate of 5slpm. NO was found to produce primarily between an inner premixed and an outer nonpremixed flame front, and total NO concentration is raised when equivalence ratios increase. These results suggest that prompt NO is likely to contribute to NO formation in CH4/O2/N2 premixed flame. Furthermore, this trend was well matched with previous works.
