수소충전소의 안전성 평가 연구 (A Study on Safety Assessment of Hydrogen Station)

  • Due to the rapid spread and low minimum ignition energy of hydrogen, rupture is highly likely to cause fire, explosion and major accidents. The self-ignition of high-pressure hydrogen is highly likely to ignite immediately when it leaks from an open space, resulting in jet fire. Results of the diffusion and leakage simulation show that jet effect occurs from the leakage source to a certain distance. And at the end of location, the vapor cloud explosion can be occurred due to the formation of hydrogen vapor clouds by built-up. In the result, it is important that depending on the time of ignition, a jet fire or a vapor cloud explosion may occur. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account jet effect by location of leakage source and establish a damage minimizing plan for the possible jet fire or vapor cloud explosion. And it is required to any kind of measurements such as an interlock system to prevent hydrogen leakage or minimize the amount of leakage when detecting leakage of gas.

목분의 밀도변화에 따른 온도전이에 관한 실험적 연구 (Study on the Deep Stead Fire Spread Temperature by the Change of the Wood Flour Density)

  • 산업의 발달과 소득의 증가로 인해 목재와 같은 다공성 물질의 수요 및 생산은 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 축산 농가를 비롯한 가공 산업 분야에서 목분의 활용이 증대됨에 따라 화재 위험도 높아지고 있다. 화재 발생시 목분은 깊이 방향으로 연소의 전이가 발생하며 내부 산화제의 소멸에 따라 화염이 없는 훈소로 진행되기도 한다. 훈소로 진행되는 경우는 화원의 위치 파악 곤란으로 초동진화에 실패하여 2차 피해를 키우는 직접적 원인으로 작용한다. 본 연구에서는 국 내외적으로 수요가 높은 뉴질랜드산 목분을 대상으로 자연대류 상태의 하향식 심부화재를 모사하였다. 본 실험에서는 실험용기 내의 목분의 체적 밀도(3%, 5%, 10%, 15%)를 변화시켜 깊이방향으로 전파되는 심부의 온도를 측정하여, 화원의 전이 속도를 실험적으로 규명하였다. 본 실험의 결과로 목분의 체적 밀도가 증가함에 따라 내부 온도는 감소하는 경향을 확인하였다. 그러나 목분 밀도체적 $0.2140g/cm^3$ (5%) 이상의 조건에서는 온도의 감소가 발생하지 않음을 실험적으로 규명하였으며 본 실험을 통하여 뉴질랜드산 소나무 목분의 온도 전이속도는 평균 0.249 mm/min의 속도 값을 가짐을 밝혔다.

연소실에 분사된 액적 간의 상호작용과 연소현상에 대한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study on Interaction and Combustion of Droplets Injected into a Combustor)

  • Vaporization, ignition and combustion of fuel droplets in tandem array are theoretically investigated to understand the droplet interactions in combustors. Including the effects of density variation in gas-phase, internal circulation and transient liquid heating, a numerical studies are performed by changing parameters such as initial droplet temperatures, initial droplet spacings, initial Reynolds numbers, surrounding gas temperatures, and activation energies of fuel vapors. Combustion regime maps classify the droplet combustion phenomena according to the configuration and location of the flame with respect to injection Reynolds numbers and surrounding gas temperatures. In addition, it is shown that the dynamic histories of droplets and ignition delay times are dependent on droplet size ratios and initial spacings of tandem droplets.

밀폐공간에서의 VCE에 의한 충격파 고찰 (A Study on the Shock Wave Caused by VCE in Enclosure)

  • In order to establish detailed plans for fire protection and reduce the possible fire accidents in the future, a study on the shock wave caused by VCE(Vapor Cloud Explosion) is very important. Destruction phenomena of structure by gas explosion is due to the explosion pressure and heat. Explosion pressure is a kind of energy converted from the gas mixture explosion. Therefore, the propagation progress of shock wave and flame is very important. This study investigated the shock wave caused by VCE in enclosure with opened vent port. From a result, the vent port of top at the straight line of ignition and leak location was opened most rapidly, and the vertical vent port not opened.

후방단이 있는 모델 초음속연소기의 연소수치해석 (Numerical Study on a Model Scramjet Engine with a Backward Step)

  • A numerical study was carried out to investigate combustion phenomena in a model Scramjet engine, which had been experimentally studied at the University of Tokyo using a high-enthalpy supersonic wind tunnel. The main airflow was Mach number 2.0 and the total temperature of hot flow was 1800K. Equivalence ratio was set to be 0.26 which is higher than that of experiment to investigate the effect of strong precombustion shock. The results showed that self-ignition occurred at the rear bottom wall of the combustor and combined with the shear layer flame between fuel jet and main airflow. Then, precombustion shock was generated at the step location and reversely enhanced the mixing and combustion process behind the shock. Due to the high equivalence ratio, the precombustion shock moved upstream of the step compared with that of experiment.

  • In this study, analysis of water mist behavior is performed using numerical simulation. Water mist is characterized by the droplet flow which is one of the multiphase flows and is discrete fluid droplets in continuous air. It is important to choose the proper diameter of droplet-size and the distance between the fire location and the position of water mist because it depends on the buoyancy from fire. Therefore the behavior of water mist with fire should be simulated by FLUENT, a commercial computational fluid dynamics(CFD) program, with Lagrangian discrete phase model. (DPM)

  • Unidentified self-ignitions were reported when the high-pressure hydrogen gas suddenly leaked out. This paper presents a flow visualization study to investigate the self-ignition mechanism in a test tube how the ignition process is initiated and the flame propagates with measurement of a number of pressure and light sensors installed in the tube supported the analysis of the self-ignition. The test result showed the location of the self-ignition taken place and critical static pressure at the boundary layer for self-ignition.

  • A recuperative, burner in the capacity of 400kW was designed using the design data from the experimental results. Performance tests on this burner were made. The exhaust gas analysis, including NOx, the measurement of the flame temperature and velocity in the recuperative burner were the main topics of hot combustion tests. Design data from the experimental results are the gas velocity, air velocity, the tip location of gas nozzle and the dimension of furnace. In view of uniform temperature distribution and thermal efficiency, it is appropriate to maintain the furnace pressure at 2-3mmAq.
