Background: Workplace victimization is considered a major social stressor with significant implications for the wellbeing of employees and organizations. The aim of this study was to examine the influences of employees' personality traits and organizational politics on workplace victimization among Ghanaian employees. Methods: Using a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 631 employees selected from diverse occupations through convenience sampling. Data collection tools were standardized questionnaires that measured experiences of negative acts at work (victimization), the Big Five personality traits, and organizational politics. Results: The results from hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that among the personality traits neuroticism and conscientiousness had significant, albeit weak relationships with victimization. Organizational politics had a significant positive relationship with workplace victimization beyond employees' personality. Conclusion: The study demonstrates that compared with personal characteristics such as personality traits, work environment factors such as organizational politics have a stronger influence on the occurrence of workplace victimization.
Previous studies on emotion have repeatedly suggested that alexithymia is an important predictor of depression. Therefore, this study examined whether the relationship between these two variables can be moderated by personality factors, focusing on the Big five personality traits. An online survey of 312 college students, including alexithymia, depression, and Big five personality traits (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability, and Openness to Experience) was conducted. As the results, as expected, alexithymia predicted depression, which was in line with the existing research flow. In addition, moderation analysis revealed that agreeableness, emotional stability, and openness to experience moderated the relationship between alexithymia and depression, while extraversion and conscientiousness did not. This study has an important implication in that it discriminated which specific personality traits function as moderators in the process of increasing depression due to alexithymia.
This study examines the relationship between tip amount and its possible antecedents: bill size, the Big Five personality types, meal type, food quality, atmosphere, service quality, consumer gender, server gender, customer hospitality experience, race, and alcohol consumption. A survey of southeastern undergraduate students was conducted to collect information about the customer, server and customer tipping habits. While the analysis suggests that service is an important factor, it shows that other factors affect tip amount. Furthermore, these factors affect tip amounts in many different ways. Some examples of these factors include bill size, alcohol consumption, gender dynamics, meal type, food quality, and personality type. The conclusion suggests the intuition behind these factors by providing a dissection of their meaning and their importance to servers, customers, and managers alike. Purpose: This study tests restaurant customer tipping habits and some personality traits that have received limited previous attention as predictors of tipping. Methods: This study is that the tip amount was self-reported, business students at a university in a large southeastern city of USA were asked to complete a tipping journal. Results: This study was able to replicate the service-tipping relationship. Moreover, this study reiterated that server friendliness is a very powerful tool to increasing tips. Conclusion: This study strongly indicate that service has a positive relationship with tip amount, and also produce a positive relationship with emotional stability and a negative relationship to conscientiousness.
This study attempted to explore how the perception of the necessity of safety education for adolescents affects fire safety consciousness and whether personality factors control the relationship. To this end, a survey was conducted at a high school in region C, and data of 1,049 people who agreed to the survey and responded faithfully were used for analysis. Hayes' macro was used to analyze the moderating effect, and as a result of the analysis, adolescents' awareness of the need for safety education increased, and their relationship was significantly regulated by extroversion, openness, and conscientiousness among the five personality factors. A simple regression line analysis was conducted to find out the specific direction, and it was found that the higher the need for safety education in both the group with high extroversion, openness, and conscientiousness, the higher the awareness of safety education. These results suggest that changes in educational methods and contents are needed to raise awareness of the necessity of education in fire safety education and to improve educational motivation, and that it may be helpful to actively utilize students' personality strengths in education.

Since personality lead to relatively consistent responses to one's own environment, consumers' distinct personality influences their buying behavior. In order to understand the relationship between consumer's personal characteristics and purchase behavior, the study investigated the effect of consumers' personality trait on the clothing selection criteria and preferred clothing image. Survey was utilized to collect the data and subjects were 333 high school students. Measures consisted of three main constructs: Consumer's extroversion and openness based on the Big-Five personality trait, clothing selection criteria, and preferred clothing image. The data were analyzed using PRELIS 2, LISREL 8.8, and SAS 9.2. The subjects was classified into three groups; Group 1 was a group of intermediate-level in openness and extroversion while Group 2 was a group of high-level in both personality traits. Group 3 was a group of high-level in openness but of low-level in extroversion. Clothing selection criteria were confirmed to have five constructs: other-directed, aesthetic, fashion & conformity-oriented, brand-oriented, and practical. In the buying situation, Group 1 prioritized fashion & conformity-oriented and brand-oriented criteria but regarded other-directed and aesthetic as less important than other groups did. Group 2 considered that all of the clothing selection criteria were important except practical. "The were six factors in the clothing image: elegance, simple, ethnic, masculine, active, and modem. The result showed a significant difference between groups in preferred clothing images. Group 2 liked most of the clothing images but group 3 did not. Group 3 preferred simple clothing image more than masculine or ethnic ones. Overall, the study concluded that the openness and extroversion of Big-Five personality traits could serve as a predictor of clothing selection criteria and preferred clothing image.
Regardless of their intention, listeners tend to assess speakers' personalities based on the sounds of the speech they hear. Assessment criteria, however, have not been fully investigated to indicate whether there is any relationship between the acoustic cue of produced speech sounds and perceived personality impression. If properly investigated, the potential relationship between these two will provide crucial insights on the aspects of human communications and further on human-computer interaction. Since human communications have distinctive characteristics of simultaneity and complexity, this investigation would be the identification of minimum essential factors among the sounds of speech and perceived personality impression. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to identify significant associations between the speech sounds and perceived personality impression of speaker by the listeners. Twenty eight subjects participated in the experiment and eight acoustic parameters were extracted by using Praat from the recorded sounds of the speech. The subjects also completed the Neo-five Factor Inventory test so that their personality traits could be measured. The results of the experiment show that four major factors(duration average, pitch difference value, pitch average and intensity average) play crucial roles in defining the significant relationship.
The purpose of this study was to examine how college students use Facebook and the ways in which they feel of commitment while using Facebook. The Big Five Personality Model has been considerably used in the psychology fields, and the researchers have started to explore the role of characteristic factors in influencing an individual's use of social media, such as Facebook which has become one of the most popular social networking site in the world. Therefore, the current study aims to specify the links between The Big Five Personality Model and usage patterns as well as commitment of Facebook. Two hundreds thirty five college students participated in a survey and the results are as follows: First, participants who were high in extraversion and agreeableness were more likely to do information sharing activities such as sharing posts to their friends, writing comments on the other's posts. In addition, participants who were high in openness to experience, conscientiousness, and neuroticism were more likely to do information producing activities including offering events, group, or public pages to meet people both on and offline. Second, in terms of the relationship between personality traits and commitment to the Facebook, the study found that extraversion and neuroticism were related to users' commitment to Facebook. These findings are consistent with the existing literature regarding extraversion and neuroticism were representative personality factors when it comes to commitment of media. Specifically, the study found that those who were high in neuroticism were more likely to produce information such as posting photos repeatedly or tagging their friends on posts, and also more likely to feel commitment on Facebook. These findings confirm that personality is a highly relevant factor in determining individual's behavior and the degree of commitment on Facebook. Based on these findings implications and limitations of the study are discussed.
The study investigated whether the characteristics of human figures in Kinetic Family Drawing showed significant differences according to the drawer's personality (neurosis, intellectual openness, friendliness, extroversion, sincerity). The participants of this study were 340 high-school girls. The Five Factors Personality Test was conducted to assess personality factors and the Kinetic Family Drawing Test was used to obtain data on drawing characteristics. The data were analyzed using Chi-square. The results of this study are as follows: First, there were significant differences in ten subcategories such as face, countenance, eyes, mouth, inclusion of body. hands, posture, erasure, exertion of pressure on the paper, and lines, according to the degree of neurosis. Second, there were significant differences in countenance, eyes, posture, exertion of pressure on the paper, and lines according to the degree of extroversion. Third, there were significant differences in face, countenance, eyes, and posture, according to the degree of openness. Fourth, there were significant differences in erasure and lines according to the degree of friendliness Fifth, there were significant differences in countenance and posture according to the degree of sincerity. This study proved that among the personality factors, neurosis is most highly related with characteristics of persons drawn in the Kinetic Family I)lawing, whereas countenance and posture in the drawing were highly indicative of personality factors.

Objective : This study aimed to identify the relationship between sensory processing and personality in college students by using five personality factors. Methods : The study was conducted between October and December 2022 with 149 college students majoring in health studies. Sensory processing was evaluated using the Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile (AASP), and personality was evaluated using the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP). The data collected were analyzed by descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis, and the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used. Results : Extraversion and agreeableness showed a significant correlation with all sensory processing types. Neuroticism showed a positive correlation with all types of sensory processing other than sensory seeking, while openness to experience showed a positive correlation with sensory seeking. Conscientiousness showed a negative correlation with low registration and sensory sensitivity type (p<.01). Conclusion : This study found a relationship between sensory processing type and personality type through an evaluation of five personality in college students. This information can be used to find solutions to various problems that college students.
The current study examined the relationships between the adolescent's conflict resolution style and Big-Five personality factors, self-monitoring and self-esteem. Firstly, results showed that adolescent's big-five personality model affects their conflict resolution styles with their friends and peer group. In detail, the higher the neuroticism was, the stronger became the attack and avoidance strategies. The higher the extraversion was, the higher became the collaborative strategy and the lower became the attack and avoidance strategies. The higher the agreeableness was, the higher became the collaborative strategy and the lower became the attack strategy. The higher the conscientiousness was, the higher became the collaborative strategy and the lower became the avoidance strategy. The higher the openness to experience was, the higher became the collaborative strategy and the lower became the avoidance strategy. The higher the self-esteem was, the higher became the collaborative strategy and the lower became the avoidance and attack strategies. The higher the self-monitoring was, the higher became the collaborative strategy and the lower became the avoidance strategy. Secondly, the big-five personality factors also affected the adolescent's conflict resolution styles. The extraversion, conscientiousness, and agreeableness positively affected the collaborative strategy. The neuroticism was positively related with the attack strategy, whereas agreeableness was negatively affected the attack strategy. The neuroticism and agreeableness were positively related with the avoidance strategy, whereas the extraversion was negatively affected the avoidance strategy. Limitations and suggestions for future study were discussed thereafter.
