양식산 경골어류 3종의 난문과 방사대의 미세구조 (Ultrastructure of Egg Micropyles and Zona Radiata in Three Aquacultural Teleosts)

  • 무지개송어 (Oncorhynchus mykiss), 메기 (Silurus asotus) 그리고 미꾸리 (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus)의 성숙 난자의 방사대 (zona radiata) 및 난문의 미세구조적 특징을 광학, 주사 및 투과 전자현미경을 이용하여 조사하였다. 무지개송어와 메기의 난에 있는 난문은 깔대기 형태의 전정과 방사대를 통과하는 끝이 작아지는 통로로 구성되어 있었다. 무지개송어와 메기의 난문은 편평한 구멍과 긴 통로로 구성된 구조를 나타내었다. 메기 난문의 구조는 무지개송어 난문의 구조와 일치되었다. 무지개송어의 난문을 구성하는 내부 벽은 시계방향(우선형)의 구조를 나타내었다. 미꾸리의 난문은 짧은 통로를 지닌 얕은 구멍을 가진 형태를 나타내었고, 시계방향의 반대방향으로 난문의 벽은 방향성율 나타내었다. 미꾸리의 이러한 나선형의 방향은 무지개송어의 방향과 일치하지 않는 것으로 나타내었다. 개구부 바로 주변부에 있는 표면은 실험에 이용된 3가지 어류에서 모두 여러 가지 크기의 작은 구멍이 존재하였다. 상호 연결부위 (ridge)가 모든 어류의 미수정된 난자에서 관찰되었다. 본 논문에서는 난성숙시 난막과 난문의 형태를 알아보기 위해서 3가지 양식어종 난자의 표면형태와 난문의 미세구조를 상호 비교하였다.

자주복 난 발생 및 자치어의 형태발달 (Development of Eggs, Larvae and Juveniles of the puffer, Takifugu rubripes reared in the Laboratory)

  • The early development, growth, and morphological changes of Tiger puffer Takifugu rubripes are described on the basis of a seres of a series of reared specimens. Detailed o수 the early developmental stages are illusrtated withe special reference to morphological transformation. Egg and sperm of puffer fish Takifugu rubripes were obtained from mature adults under natural conditions, ferilized artificially and incubated in the laboratory. The incubation period of fertilizd eggs was 160 to 180 hours at a temperature of $15.1~ 18.0^{\circ}C$. Larvae were fed successively with rotifer, Artemia nauplii and artificial food for 90 days. The mean total length of newly-hatched larvae was about 2.8mm. Mouth opening occurred on the 1- day yolk-sac larvae and initial feeding was observed on th 4-5 days after hatching . The morphological transitions from the larvae to juvenile and juvenile and juvenile to young stages occurred when fish reached about 10mm in total length(about 30 days after hatching) and about 32mm in total length(about 60days after hatching) , respectively. The coefficient of variation in total length distribution increased with growth. Following the appearance of its peak at the size of about 18mm in total length, the coefficient value declined. Many changes in proportion of the body parts to total length were observed at about 9~10mm and 30~33mm in total length, corresponding to the transformations from larvae to juvenile and from juvenile to young, respectively. Also one big morphological change was observed at about 18mm in total length that divide the juvenile stage into two sub-stages.

미호종개 Iksookimia choii (Cobitidae)의 난 발생 및 자어 형태 발달 (Morphological Development of Egg and Larvae of Iksookimia choii (Cobitidae))

  • 멸종위기 야생동식물이면서 천연기념물인 담수어류 미호종개의 난발생 과정 및 초기 생활사를 연구하였다. 성숙란은 인간 성선 자극호르몬(HCG) 10 IU $g^{-1}$을 주사하여 얻었으며, 습식번으로 수정하였다 수정란은 원형으로 투명한 황색을 띈 침성 점착란이었으며, 수정란의 직경은 $1.1\sim1.3mm$로 유구는 존재하지 않았다. 부화는 수온 평균 $25^{\circ}$에서 수정 후 24시간을 전후하여 시작하였다. 부화 직후 자어는 전각이 $2.5\sim2.7mm$ (평균 2.8 mm)로 입과 항문은 닫혀있었다. 부화 후 6일째 자어는 전장이 $4.7\sim5.4mm$(평균 5.1mm)로 꼬리 끝부분 척색이 $45^{\circ}$로 완전하게 굽어 후기 자어로 이행하였다. 부화 후 35일째 개체의 전장은 $20\sim22mm$ (평균 21.8 mm)로 모든 지느러미 가시와 줄기가 정수에 달하여 치어 단계로 이행하였다.

Effects of dietary hatchery by-products on growth performance, relative organ weight, plasma measurements, immune organ index, meat quality, and tibia characteristics of broiler chickens

  • Objective: The objective of the current study was to investigate the effects of dietary hatchery by-products (HBPs) as a replacement of fish meal (FM) on growth performance, relative organ weight, plasma measurements, immune organ index, meat quality, and tibia characteristics of broiler chickens. Methods: A total of 720 broiler chickens (3 d of age) were randomly allotted to 1 of 9 treatments with 8 replicates. Each replicate consisted of 5 male and 5 female birds. The basal diet was formulated to contain 5.0% commercial FM, whereas eight treatment diets were prepared by replacing 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of FM in the basal diet with infertile eggs (IFE) or a mixture of various HBPs (MIX); therefore, the inclusion levels of IFE or MIX in the experimental diets were 1.25%, 2.50%, 3.75%, or 5.00%. The diets and water were provided on an ad libitum basis for 32 d. Results: Increasing inclusion levels of IFE as a replacement of FM in diets had no effects on growth performance, plasma measurements, immune organ index, and tibia characteristics of broiler chickens. Increasing inclusion levels of IFE in diets increased (linear, p<0.05) meat lightness (L*) but decreased (linear, p<0.05) meat redness (a*). The breast meat pH at 1-h postmortem was increased (linear, p<0.05) by increasing inclusion levels of IFE in diets. Likewise, increasing inclusion levels of MIX in diets had no effects on growth performance, relative organ weight, plasma measurements, immune organ index, and tibia characteristics. However, increasing inclusion levels of MIX in diets increased (linear, p<0.05) 1-h postmortem pH but decreased (linear, p<0.05) 24-h postmortem pH of breast meat. Increasing inclusion levels of MIX in diets decreased (linear, p<0.05) thiobarbituric acid reactive substances values of breast meat. Conclusion: Both IFE and MIX are suitable alternatives to FM as protein ingredients in broiler diets.

Food behaviors accounting for the recent trends in dietary fatty acid profiles among Korean adults

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study examined the changes in food behaviors of dietary fatty acids over 2007-2018 among Korean adults. SUBJECTS/METHODS: This study used data from the 4th (2007-2009), 5th (2010-2012), 6th (2013-2015), and 7th (2016-2018) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys. A total of 46,307 adults aged 19-64 yrs were selected and dietary data were obtained from a single 24-h recall. In the 4th and 7th data, the major food sources for each fatty acid based on the contributing percentage of the food item were compared. The consumption trends in the major food sources were presented as grams per day over 2007-2018 and compared across the survey periods using the multiple regression model. RESULTS: From 2007 to 2018, for total fat, saturated fatty acid (SFA), and monounsaturated fatty acid, the contribution of animal food sources, including beef, chicken, and eggs increased but plant food sources (e.g., tofu, soybean, and plant oil) decreased. As polyunsaturated fatty acid sources, mayonnaise, eggs, and bread showed higher contributions, whereas soybean and tofu showed lower contributions in the 7th data compared to the 4th data. For n-3 fatty acids, the contribution of fish decreased between the 4th and 7th data. Over 12 yrs, the significant increases in the absolute amount of consumption from animal sources were observed. In contrast, decreases in the consumption from plant sources and fish were seen across the survey periods. CONCLUSIONS: In Korean adults, increases in the intake of dietary fatty acids along with changes in the food behaviors during 2007-2018 have evoked great concern for SFA intake, which is a cardiovascular disease risk factor. Healthy food sources of dietary fatty acids should be emphasized in this population.

꽁치(Cololabis saira)의 물성연화를 통한 고령친화형 수산식품의 개발 및 품질특성 평가 (Development and Quality Characteristics Evaluation of Senior-friendly Seafood Products Using Softening Processes of the Pacific Saury Cololabis saira)

  • This study was conducted to prepare curry potato pancakes (CPP), curry fish balls (CFB) and steamed eggs (SE) using Pacific saury Cololabis saira as senior-friendly seafood and to determine the physical property stages and quality characteristics of the prepared food. Escherichia coli concentrations were undetected in all the products, which is considered an acceptable limit for senior-friendly foods. On applying the physical properties standards according to the Korean Industrial Standard, saury CPP, saury CFB, and saury SE were classified as the 1st, 2nd, and the 3rd stages as senior-friendly seafood, respectively. Regarding the nutritional properties per 100 g of the three types of senior-friendly seafood using saury according to the Korean food code, CPP had three types of nutrients (protein, riboflavin, and niacin), whereas CFB and SE had four (protein, riboflavin, niacin and calcium) and six (protein, vitamin D, vitamin C, riboflavin, niacin, and calcium) types of nutrients, respectively.

납자루아과(Pisces: Acheilognathinae) 어류 3종의 숙주조개에 대한 산란양상 및 재첩(Corbicula fluminae) 내 산란 국내 최초 보고 (Spawning patterns of three bitterling fish species (Pisces: Acheilognathinae) in host mussels and the first report of their spawning in Asian clam(Corbicula fluminae) from Korea)

  • 본 연구는 낙동강 지류인 고령 회천 유역의 납자루아과어류 3종(줄납자루, 낙동납자루, 각시붕어)을 대상으로 숙주조개 종에 대한 산란양상을 조사하고 재첩 내 산란한 종을 식별하였다. 현장에서 채집된 총 200개 조개 중 납자루아과 어류 산란율은 말조개(45.2%)와 작은대칭이(45.5%)가 유사하였으나, 재첩은 12.1%로 낮게 나타났다. 재첩을 산란조개로 이용한 납자루아과 어류는 줄납자루와 낙동납자루로 확인되었다. 말조개에서는 납자루아과 3종 모두 산란이 확인되었으며 작은대칭이에선 줄납자루만 산란이 확인되었다. 기존 문헌에 의하면, 재첩은 말조개류보다 크기가 작고 아가미 구조가 달라 납자루아과 어류의 난 및 치어가 생존에 불리하다고 보고된 바 있다. 이러한 연구 결과들을 토대로 재첩과는 산란숙주조개로서 이용될 가능성이 없는 것으로 알려졌지만 재첩 내 납자루아과 어류 산란이 최근 중국에서 보고된 바 있고, 본 연구를 통해 재첩내 납자루아과 산란이 국내 최초로 확인되었다. 이는 재첩이 납자루아과의 산란숙주조개로 이용되었다는 것을 의미 하지만, 산란 후 발생과정을 거쳐 유영능력을 획득하여 조개 밖으로 이동해 독립된 생활사를 지속하는지에 대한 여부는 추후 확인이 필요하다. 재첩 내 산란이 산란초기에 나타나는 현상이거나 높은 경쟁관계와 같은 생물학적 환경요인에 의한 현상일수도 있는점을 고려해 추후 5, 6월 시기에 조사가 필요하다. 또한 낙동강수계의 다른 하천을 대상으로 추가적인 연구를 수행하여 납자루아과 어류의 재첩에 대한 산란양상 파악을 보다 면밀히 구명할 필요가 있다. 말조개 33개체 중 19개체(57.6%)에서 납자루아과 어류 2종 이상의 난이 관찰되었고, 이러한 결과는 산란장을 차지하기 위한 납자루아과 어류 종간경쟁의 강도가 매우 높다는 것을 의미한다. 본 연구는 낙동강에 서식하는 납자루아과 담수어류의 산란양상을 보다 정확히 규명하고 이들 자연개체군의 효과적인 유지, 관리 및 보전 방안 마련을 위한 생태, 유전적 기초 데이터를 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

  • Livestock products like meat, milk and egg have been principal food sources for human beings since the historic periods of time. Nowadays consumption of these food items have been avoided due to its high contents of SFA, cholesterol and total fat which are major culprits of chronic adult diseases causing major deaths of people. However, the relationship between livestock products and diseases is not always true because the amounts of fat and cholesterol and types of fatty acids in meat and meat by-products depend on the part of the meat and types of animals. Although meat intakes do not always cause mai or adult diseases, still the developmental necessity does exist for animal foods equipped with biologically active properties, which in turn can improve nutritional status and health more than ever Meat with high protein lean part and low fat can be produced by applying synthetic somatotropin and beta-adrenergic agonists like clenbuterol, cimaterol etc. during breeding. This application brings benefits like higher growth rate, lower fat contents and improve feed efficiency ratios. Meats fortified with long chain PUFA($\omega$-3 fatty acids) can also be produced by modulating feed composition.Egg Products have faced the reduced sales annually because of its high cholesterol contents. Recently brand eggs fortified with special nutrients or chemical components having functional proper ties in the human body system are very popular Research Interests have been focused on eggs with low cholesterol and high omega-3 fatty acids. Low cholesterol eggs and high omega-3 eggs can be produced in several different ways, but popular way to increase is feeding the feeds with different oil sources containing high omega-3 and 6 fatty acids such as fish oil, perilla oil, linseed oil and lecithin etc. But proper compositon of feed formula should be found and economically beneficial. Brand eggs fortified with vitamin, mineral, unknown growth factors are also manufactured. Low cholesterol and high $\omega$-3 PUFA milk are marketed recently Cholesterol removal technology is not completely established and has several limitations to be overcome. Milk fortified with $\omega$-3 fatty acids is made by incorporating high &13 fatty acid foods in feed despite of extraordinary way of fatty acid metabolism In cow. All these biologically active products will be very beneficial and useful for human consumption when limitations of manufacturing technology such as safety and lowered sensory qualities are resolved. Furthermore, thorough and precise tests and quality control for these products should be performed to ensure the effectiveness and usefulness in terms of improving health and nutritional status in general. However one caution should be pointed out to lay people informing that these items are nothing but a food and not panacea. Therefore, it is important to remember that the only way of maintaining good health is absolutely through consuming balanced diet.

자주복, Takifugu rubripes의 성성숙과 호르몬 처리에 의한 인공채란에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Gonadal Maturation and Egg-Stripping by Hormone Treatments of Tiger Puffer, Takifugu rubripes)

  • 자주복, Takifugu rubripes 수정란 확보를 목적으로 실내 수조에서 사육한 1990년산(3년어), 1991년산(2년어)를 인공 사육 조건하에서 성장에 따른 월별 생식소숙도지수 (GSI)와 간숙도지수(HSI)를 조사하고, 1988년산(5년어)과 1990년산(3년어)을 대상으로 태반성 성선 자극 호르몬(HCG)을 처리하여 배란을 유도한 후 채란시험을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다 1993년 5월까지 성장은 2년어는 체장과 체중이 각각 $30.72\pm1.35cm,\;1,048\pm228g$였고, 3년어는 자각 $36.02\pm1.17cm,\;1,402\pm66g$이었다. 그리고 시험 기간중 양식 자주복의 체장(L)과 체중(W)과의 상관 관계는 2년어는 W=\;1.7892L^{3.1524}\times10^{-5}$ (r=0.9436)였고, 3년어는 $W=3.2849L^{3.6099}\times10{-6}$ (r=0.9070)였다. GSI의 변화는 2년어 암컷은 시험기간 중에 $0.23\pm0.12$에서 $0.74\pm0.08$의 범위였지만, 수컷에서는 11월까지는 변화폭이 적었지만 그 후 증가하여 4월에 최고 값인 $8.69\pm5.09$을 나타났다. 3년어 암컷은 4월에 8.05\pm5.58$, 수컷에서는 5월에 $12.65\pm4.60$로 최고 값을 나타냈다. HSI의 변화에 있어서 3년어는 GSI와 정상관적인 변화를 보이나 2년어는 거의 상관관계 없이 나타난다. 수컷 2, 3년어는 기능적 성성숙에 도달하나, 암컷에 있어서 2년어가 $230{\mu}m$ 전후의 초기 성숙 단계까지 발달하여 그 후 퇴행 변성되고, 3년어는 난경 $900{\mu}m$까지 발달하여 완숙란에 도달하고 있다. HCG 처리후 채란까지 소요시간은 수온 $16.3\~17.8^{\circ}C$에서 5년어(500 IU/kg, BW)는 각각 139시간, 142시간, 3년어(1,000IU/kg, BW)는 114시간이었다. 1마리당 채란량은 5년어가 각각 650g, 400g이었고, 3년어에서는 610g이었으며, 수정율은 각각 $98.0\%,\;97.4\%$$96.5\%$였다. 호르몬 처리에 의한 채란은 성공적이었고, 수정이후 정상적인 부화자어로 이행이 확실하였다.

동해 중부해역에 출현하는 말쥐치(Thamnaconus modestus) 암컷의 성숙과 산란 (Maturation and spawning of female black scraper, Thamnaconus modestus in the coastal waters off Middle East Sea, Korea)

  • The maturation and spawning of black scraper, Thamnaconus modestus were studied using samples collected monthly from March, 2015 to February, 2016 in the coastal waters off Middle East Sea, Korea. The gonadosomatic index (GSI) of female was the highest in June. The spawning periods lasted from March to September based on histological observation of female gonad development. The percentage of sexually mature females estimated from a logistic function was over 50% for the size group 18.02 cm (total length, TL). The size of eggs spawned was between 0.40 to 0.58 mm. Fecundity varied between 185,648 and 9,747,250 eggs. The relationship between the fecundity and TL of the fish was expressed in the fecundity equation as $F=0.0297TL^{5.4835}$.
