  • A study on the fire and smoke behavior on experiments and analysis through STAR-CD in using about behavior analysis of the smoke. Kerosene of 3L in using on the experimental garden of 30cm in diameter same applies to heat release rate(HRR), buoyant force by Plume can be calculated at a rate of 1m/s. The result of experiment in average of velocity were 0.29m/s, and interpreted result were 0.28m/s. Besides, it is proved by interpreted that behavior of smoke movement can be not observed in the experiment. After smoke is Plume increased, ceiling-jet in formation being descend in smoke layer will be more thick smoke layer, and then vertical wall is collapsed in formation of wall-jet being descend. It is defined that smoke layer is more thick through descending course in wall-jet and ceiling-jet.

  • The facilities of domestic elderly people are getting higher in the facility due to the rapid increase of the elderly population. Elderly people ability to evacuate the facility such as cognition and walking ability is very low. Therefore, it is necessary to secure the safety of evacuation in case of fire, but the evacuation safety measures in case of domestic fire accidents are insufficient. This study is to identify the problems of the safety of evacuation through the fire case analysis and to propose the measures against it.

  • In this paper, the evaluating test methods of the fire and the electric shock on the led lamp supply using the house is proposed. We analyzed FMEA in order to analyze the mechanism of the fire and the electric shock of the led lamp supply and designed durability tests on the environment ($85^{\circ}C$, 85% R.H.) and obtained through the two-step QFD and tested. We verified the evaluating test methods of the fire and the electric shock on the led lamp supply using the house through the analysis of the test results.

  • AU(A plus U-shaped) composite beam was developed for reducing the story height in the residential buildings, and saving the cosrtuction cost of floor structures. Structural performance and economic feasibility of the composite beam have been sufficiently approved through the structural experiments and the analytical studies. Fire safety for the practical application of the composite beam has also been verified through the fire resistance tests and the heat transfer analyses. In this study 2-points bending tests were performed on the four specimens already tested for fire resistance to evaluate the residual bending strength of AU composite beam after fire accident. The same bending test was performed on the one fresh specimen having the same section and span of the specimens for practically comparative study.

  • The fire in Ulsan in 2020 was a 33-story residential and commercial complex with about 90 injuries and more than 10 billion won in property damage, and considering the recent increase in high-rise residential and commercial complexes, the risk of similar fires is high. As can be seen through the residential and commercial complex fire case in Ulsan, life-based fire safety standards need to be established to minimize casualties. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to draw improvements for the development of human safety standards for high-rise residential facilities in the future through comparison with the Korean Building Act, Firefighting-rellated Acts and the U.S. NFPA 101.

  • The fire that broke out in a residential and commercial complex in Ulsan in October 2020 was large, but no deaths occurred. For this reason, there was a difference from the previous cases, so it was analyzed through field survey. The fire was expanded to the entire building by aluminum composite panels constructed by external heat method and SMC panels in evacuation safety zones, and fire was expanded to nearby mart due to wind on the day of the fire, and there were many evacuation spaces such as 15th, 28th, and rooftop heliports.

  • In this study, we looked into the method to establish fire growth rate by buildings use for growing fire at the beginning of a fire considering the characteristics of the combustibles in a performance-based design. Actual conditions survey and literature review were carried out for the fire load and exposed surface area of combustibles to establish design fire by domestic building use. As a results, a simplified prediction equation of fire growth rate which depends on fire load and weight of combustibles could be derived by calculating the relation between the fire load and the fire growth rate of an initial fire through investigation of combustibles by domestic building use. Also, as a result of analyzing the placement of combustibles and location of the ignition source, it was found that the influence of the materials of the combustibles and the materials of the combustibles adjacent to the ignition source is big. Though 4 different experiments were carried out for the evaluation, the result of comparing the findings with those of FGR model showed that the fire growth rate was similarly derived.

  • Today, fires are becoming so catastrophic and complicated due to the industrialization and diversification of energy sources that it is getting more difficult to define the survey items in order to find out the causes and processes of the fire. As an organization of prevention, vigilance and putting out of the fire, Fire Fighting authorities are ultimately pursuing the system of fire fighting administration to protect human lives and their properties through establishment and performance of fire prevention policy based on the fire-related statistics they have gathered and prevention of future fires of the kind which can promote the safety of structural space. Thus, to facilitate the fire detection, it can be said that good understanding of the tasks of both investigation and putting out of the fire as being two axes has the greatest significance. For this study, textbooks from the organization of fire fighting and police, which are designed for the literature study on the investigation and putting out of fire, are used and for the demonstrative study, the conclusions have been reached by the analyses of the 64 questionnaires of three parts which were divided by fire investigation and fighting for three hundred and six governmental employees engaging in the above fields.

  • The wind is very important factor in forest fire spread. Flame spread has a change through wind pattern change in forest fire. In order to analyze the forest fire flame spread rate, change of flame tilt depending on wind may be considering first. This is be cause the flame spread rate varies by the flame tilt changed due to transfer of heat. Especially, as wind speed grow, flame gets closer to surface, heat transfer ratio increase, virgin fuel bed reaches ignition temperature more rapidly, and flame moves faster. This study deduces, through experiment and physical figure analysis, relations on the change behavior of flame tilt due to wind. The value of flame tilt angle calculated from the equation and the experiment value showed average error angle of $3.3^{\circ}$, which is relatively smaller than results of previous studies that used other coefficient. Froude number coefficient A can be calculated in the method provided in this research for estimation of flame tilt angle of virgin fuel bed with varying thermal properties. The research finding is expected to be applied to future studies on flame spread through numerical analysis of heat transfer.
