화재예방에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Factors Affecting Fire Prevention)

  • 본 연구는 화재예방과 관련된 안전문화 조성, 화재예방 교육, 화재예방 설비, 화재안전 지식, 화재안전 실천을 독립변수로 두고, 종속변수인 화재예방에 미치는 영향요인을 실증적으로 검증하기 위한 연구이다. 다중회귀분석에서 얻어진 결과는 화재예방과 관련하여 다음과 같이 도출되었다. 화재예방 교육은 화재예방에 통계적으로 가장 강하게 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 화재예방 설비는 화재예방에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 화재안전 실천은 화재예방에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

공업계 고등학교 학생의 소방안전의식에 관한 연구 - 서울지역의 기능반 학생을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Recognition of the Students of Technical High School on Fire Safety : Focusing on Skills Student in the Seoul Metropolis)

  • 이 연구는 공업계 고등학교 학생들의 소방안전의식을 파악하고, 소방안전교육의 필요성과 효율적인 교육을 위한 기본 자료를 제공할 목적으로 수행되었다. 소방안전의식을 알아보기 위해 공업계고등학교에서 안전사고에 가장 많이 노출되어 있는 기능반 학생 10개 학교 56명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 이 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공업계 고등학교 기능반의 적지 않은 학생들이 인생에서 생활안전의 중요성을 낮게 평가하는 경향이 나타났고, 소방안전이 아주 필요하지만 시설물 안전에 비해 덜 중요도하다고 인식하였다. 둘째, 소방교육의 주체는 주로 학교이었고 거의 절반에 가까운 학생들이 소방교육이 잘 이루어지지 않는다고 응답하는데, 학교 전체 교육보다 학생의 전공과 기능종목에 적합한 소방교육이 필요하였다. 셋째, 기능반 학생들의 소방안전에 관한 환경은 적지 않은 위험요소에 노출되어 있었는데, 작은 사고도 반드시 보고되고 재발을 방지하기 위한 체제와 방안이 필요하였다. 넷째, 정규교육과정 공업입문과목의 소방안전에 대해 학생들은 대체로 만족하였지만, 소방안전에 대한 내용을 늘리고 실제적인 것을 배울 수 있기를 원하였다. 궁극적으로 소방안전을 포함하는 안전에 관한 전문적인 독립 교과목으로 발전시키기 위한 후속연구가 필요하였다.

아동의 안전에 관한 인식과 교육 실태 조사 연구 (Research on the Cognition and Education of Safety for Children)

  • It is necessary to examine from primary school children's viewpoint to perception of safety as to how they cope with a condition threatening safety at the realistic world with risky environment and whether knowledge obtained through education is transmitted to action in a correct way. For this, this study explored and analyzed children's perspective to safety felt in life, their achievement of education to safety as trainees, and their perception extent to safety. As a result of it, following conclusion could be obtained. First, as for safety on their way to school and home, the lower grade they were, the more they felt safe, but the higher they were, the more they felt uneasy, which was examined that they generally had uncomfortable mind. Second, as for whether safety education was performed or not, it was indicated that safety education was generally executed, but lower graders responded that safety education was executed, but high graders responded that it was not executed. Third, as for observance of traffic rules, it was examined lower graders kept them well, but higher graders did not do so. Fourth, as for safety of play, it was indicated lower graders wore protective equipment by parents' concern, but higher graders did not wear them since they were full of confidence counting on their capability. Fifth, as for life safety, it was indicated the area most preferentially educated from parents' viewpoint was traffic safety, and the next ones were gas and fire safety. Sixth, as for fire safety, it was indicated they did not play with fire, but higher graders compared to lower ones, played with fire as the means of curiosity and play. Thus, curricula for children's safety education executed from adults' viewpoint should be established, and assessment of children's safety education should get out of the limitation of execution of safety education to habituated action by the transmission of children's knowledge. Also it is urgent to develop programs with which to perform children;'s education at the level of children, establish and operate safety education facilities for practice education that teachers and children can receive safety education through experience by building up children's safety education related entities. And it is thought that safety should not left to only children, but their safety would be kept by developing and training safety education programs to all organizations and individuals related to safety.

A Review on Fire Safety Engineering: Key Issues for High-Rise Buildings

  • This paper presents a state-of-the-art review on the design, research and education aspects of fire safety engineering (FSE) with a particular concern on high-rise buildings. FSE finds its root after Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD, followed by Great London Fire in 1666. The development of modern FSE is continuously driven by industry revolution, insurance community and government regulations. Now FSE has become a unique engineering discipline and is moving towards performance-based design since 1990s. The performance-based fire safety design (PBFSD) involves identification of fire safety goals, design objectives, establishment of performance criteria, and selection of proper solutions for fire safety. The determination of fire scenarios and design fires have now become major contents for PBFSD. To experience a rapid and positive evolution in design and research consistent with other engineering disciplines, it is important for fire safety engineering as a profession to set up a special educational system to deliver the next-generation fire safety engineers. High-rise buildings have their unique fire safety issues such as rapid fire and smoke spread, extended evacuation time, longer fire duration, mixed occupancies, etc., bringing more difficulties in ensuring life safety and protection of property and environment. A list of recommendations is proposed to improve the fire safety of high-rise buildings. In addition, some source information for specific knowledge and information on FSE is provided in Appendix.

  • This study presented the development of a user centered school facility fire safety evaluation model that would support fire safety evaluation, which is globally recognized as being important in terms of school safety, to be more efficiently implemented in the school field mainly by students. The study consisted of five steps. First, actual condition survey tools were developed based on the major fire safety evaluation items derived through literature review. Second, the characteristics of domestic school facilities in terms of fire safety were developed using the survey tools. Third, an evaluation model at a level utilizable by students was developed based on the foregoing characteristics. Fourth, the applicability of the model was verified through a trial application of the model to elementary school students. Finally, legal and institutional improvement plans and fire safety education materials were presented through a policy proposal.

요양병원의 피난안전에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evacuation Safety of a Long-term Care Hospital)

  • In this study, We analyzed that evacuation characteristics of residents, fire safety standards, evacuation facilities and flame retardation, etc to increase the evacuation safety of a long-term care hospital. Therefore, In order to improve of evacuation safety in case of fire, We proposed that an increase in the number of care workers, education, training and an amendment to the law, a change of positions of fire safety controller.

  • 본 연구는 학교 안전관리자의 인식이 학교안전의 전이의도에 미치는 영향요인과 매개효과를 분석하여 학교 안전 교육 프로그램의 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다. 연구의 결과를 종합해보면, 전이의도에 가장 영향력이 있는 변수로는 내용만족도로 나타났다. 그 다음으로 강사만족도, 환경에 대한 만족도 순으로 영향력이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 교육방법에 대한 만족도는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않은 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 학교 안전교육에 대한 일반적 인식은 학교관리자 안전교육의 만족도와 학교안전 전이의도의 관계의 매개효과가 존재한 것으로 나타났다.

고령화사회대비 노인안전사고 예방방안 (Prevention for the elderly safety issues to prepare for an aged society)

  • The usual reasons for elderly safety accidents include lack of care for disaster, physical disability, and an error of judgment and so on. But it is true that accidents will occur continuously with the afore-mentioned causes. Against the elderly safety accidents, safety is the main prerequisite for leading the successful and easy life in the elderly. Therefore, this study is purposed to provide the way of thinking about elderly safety issues by suggesting the methods and contents of education program. This study is specifically focused on developing audio-visual materials involved in all the safety accidents and researching the effect of safety education ability through materials with a view to identify the substantial problems. Education program should make a continuous and long term study so that the curricula of the safety accidents prevention education can be done systematically.

국내 제조업 화재감시자 운영의 문제 확인 및 개선방안 (Identification of Problems and Improvement Measures of Fire Observer Operation in Domestic Manufacturing Industry)

  • Sparks cause most fire and explosion accidents in the manufacturing industry during hot work, which ignites surrounding combustible materials. Such incidents lead to high casualties due to suffocation from toxic gases and lack of evacuation. Therefore, the government recently enacted and revised 'The Occupational Safety and Health Act' to prevent fires and explosions at work sites, incorporating legal standards for fire observers, which are important in preventing accidents and the spread of fire during hot work. However, there are notable shortcomings in conducting professional cause analysis of these accidents and in aligning them with advanced foreign legal standards. Additionally, there is a lack of literature review reflecting the manufacturing industry characteristics. Despite the recent enactment and revision of legal standards, gathering sufficient opinions and professional reviews remains insufficient. To address these gaps, interviews were conducted with safety and health workers, analyzing recent fire and explosion causes in domestic manufacturing industries, and reviewing both domestic and international legal standards. Conclusively, proposed improvement measures were centered on the professionalization of fire observer education, enhancing their roles and authority realistically, and improving fire observer placement and operation standards. Consequently, additional 'Occupational Safety and Health Act' standards are necessary for fire observer education and defining the government's role. Second, precise legal standards outlining the role and authority of fire observers are required. Third tailored fire observer arrangements and management standards appropriate for varying work characteristics and company sizes are required. This study emphasizes the importance of supplementing relevant legal standards to prevent fire accidents in the manufacturing industry.

대구시민의 소방안전의식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Recognition of Daegu Citizen on Fire Safety)

  • 본 연구는 대구시민의 소방안전에 관한 의식을 조사하여 시민들의 소방안전의식을 향상시킬 수 있는 기본자료를 제공하기 위하여 수행되었다. 설문조사는 대구 시민 553명에 대하여 2003년 10월 2일부터 15일까지 실시되었으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 대구시민들은 우리사회의 소방안전의식을 낮게 생각하고 있으며, 대구 지하철 화재사고가 시민들의 소방안전의식에 아주 큰 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났다. 대구 시민들은 건물에 설치된 소방설비에 대하여 신뢰하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 일반시민들의 소방안전에 대한 의식을 높이기 위한 방법으로는 TV, 신문 등 언론홍보강화(30.7%), 소방안전체험관 설치 및 운영(24.6%), 학교에서의 소방안전교육 강화(20.8%)의 순으로 나타났다.
