High rising of the buildings offers a number of risk factors than ever before with regard to fire prevention. Especially in the construction site of high-rise buildings, people waste golden-time during the evacuation because temporary fire fighting facilities are not installed and transferred to a large fire because of fire suppression failure. In this study, the researcher derives the problems of fire protection in high-rise buildings construction sites and proposed the measures in such the legal aspects as fire building construction code and etc. There are the legal improvements such as orders of construction suspension in the problems of fire safety, appointing fire safety manager, temporary fire protection installation standards, enhancing penalty provisions regarding the use of fire, operating self fire brigade, confirming on-site after completing fire-protection facalities, establishment or strengthening special fire-protection investigations.

As for the performance related to a fire safety like fire resistance efficiency and evacuation safety etc. It is the ain of this study to investigate the comparative survey of expression methods for fire safety performance in Korea and Japan. The results of this study that there are so difference between Japan and Korea and suggests that the necessity for converting the fire risk calculated by an advanced technique into a simple expression.

This article introduces the transition of SOLAS (The International Convention for the Safety of Life Sea) safety regulations for fire protection, fire detection and fire extinction in ships. And also the regulations and the related IMO fire test rules applied to products such as fire sep-arate walls and non-combustible materials for interior to prevent fire spread on the ship fire are summarized.

건물의 소방설비시스템의 유지 관리 상태에 이상이 나타났다고 한다면, 특정 기능의 이상이 미치는 부분적 또는 전체적인 화재안전대응수준에 영향을 미친다. 따라서 효율적 소방성능을 유지하기 위해 설비기능의 가동상태를 나타 낼 수 있는 성능지수의 계산 체계가 필요하다. 이러한 성능지수의 체계는 정보수신자가 부분 이상으로 발생한 영향이 전체 기능의 상태에 얼마나 영향을 주는 것인지를 쉽게 인지할 수 있도록 하는 데에 기여할 수 있다. 따라서 건물의 화재안전수준을 나타내는 효율지표로 사용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 광대역규모의 소방 관리에서도 활용성 높은 지수로 사용될 수 있다. 본 지수 산정체계는 U-건물 소방방화시설관리 운용시스템의 성능 효율지수 산정을 위한 시스템으로 개발되었다.

This study is to suggest a performance assessment model for fire safety protection of office building 34 asessment elements were chosen by interviewing with experts, reviewing several codes and existing relevant models, assessment elements included in this model are comprised of five categories which are 'performace of protected area', 'performance of fire partition', 'safety performance of fire escape', 'performace of smoke control system' and 'performace of fire fighting equipment'. The weight of each element was computed by systematic approach like an AHP (analytical hierarchy process), which was conducted by experts who work in the field of fire protection. This model would be utilized as a part of assessment model for the overall performace of domestic office building.

Fire and smoke can from a small ignition source develop rapidly. Active systems in combination with Passive Fire Protection measures will offer highest safety standards to the building's developers and occupants. Nevertheless, the fire growth is very unpredictable and it is therefore essential at the planning stage that tested solutions are well selected according to National codes and later on installed by qualified contractors to ensure optimum performance. This demonstrates that Passive Fire Protection as safety measure cannot be neglected. Recent fire cases all over the world still proof that fire can develop any time and any where even in countries of high safety standards.

본 연구는 소방기술사(Fire Professional Engineer)의 안전의식, 안전행동과 인명안전의 관계를 검증하기 위하여 기술통계 분석, 요인 분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관관계 분석을 실시하였으며, 연구가설을 설정하여 단순회귀 분석, 3단계 매개회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 소방기술사의 안전의식이 높아지면 안전행동은 72.1% 상승하고, 안전의식과 안전행동이 높아지면 인명안전은 각각 61.5%와 64.5%가 상승하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 안전행동은 안전의식과 인명안전의 관계에서 부분매개효과가 나타났다. 모든 연구가설(H1, H2, H3, H4)의 채택으로 소방 관련법은 인명안전 중심으로 개정되어야 한다는 필요성이 통계적으로 검증되어, 향후 인명안전을 반영한 분석 자료로 널리 활용 될 것이다.

This study contains the fire protection safety of the public-utilization shops. The toll of fires in the public-utilization shops is so heavy in spite the less occurency. The shops are mostly compartmented into small rooms by partition wall which hinders the evacuation of the people on fire. This study provides additional requirements on the fire safety of the public-utilization shops needed for human life and property.

Fire was and remains a great threat to historic buildings of wood. This threat is omnipresent and often results to irreparable property losses especially cultural heritages. Fire of historic buildings continues to increase every year. The purpose of this study is to preserve a life safety, historical heritage and architectural & cultural values by pursuing for fire safety in the historical buildings. This study shall employ two research methods: a literature review and field survey methods. The literature review shall focus on the observations of characteristics noted in fire codes. The field survey shall cover a heat analysis and fire protection equipment. A method is proposed to investigate fire codes related historical building, reported fire history Fire Codes and Regulations for modern buildings are not always applicable on the historic buildings. Old buildings, and some new buildings with architectural, historical or cultural importance may have values which cannot be measured on a monetary scale. Their protection against the damage caused by fire is considered to be one of the basic moral duties of society. It is strongly recommended, therefore, legislation for fire safety in historical buildings must be extended to a complementary relationship with 'active' fire protection measures, to provide safety in real historical building in real fire situations. The development and application of performance based Codes and the Fire Safety Engineering approach seems to be a rather reasonable and effective way to deal with this historical buildings.
