Identification of the exact cause of a building fire is generally difficult, because the source and initially ignited objects are often severely damaged or even lost during the early stages of the fire. We made an experimental attempt to reasonably estimate the burning during the very early stages of a fire, and identify its source and causes. The case we studied was an apartment fire, which occurred in Tokyo, in July 2002. The fire was extinguished just after flashover, and the on-site investigations suggested the fire started from the TV and TV stand, which had been damaged so severely that it was difficult to conclude that the TV was the ultimate cause of the fire, simply from the on-site investigation. We conducted a series of burn tests using a TV and other products identical to those actually used in the apartment. Tests were set-up and procedures were carefully studied to recreate the conditions of the articles that remained, and of the room itself. The tests demonstrated that the conditions in the apartment could be recreated only when the fire started inside the TV and came into close contact with dresser.
In this study, we drew identification techniques of cigarette fires through the cases analyses of the combustion characteristics, the combustion time, the combustion temperature, the combustion test of smoldering materials and the reappearance experiments of cigarette fires. To initiate fires by cigarette fire, the conditions of oxygen supply, combustible materials must be satisfied. On the other hand, fires were not spreaded easily under the insufficient combustion conditions.

Cultural assets of the country's history and cherish the living conditions of the people, conscious and cohesive crystals, and the pride of the hearts of the people as a haven. In the country worth preserving national treasure, bomulgeup, local cultural heritage as a major cultural property protection are. Cultural properties, etc. Most are wooden, is vulnerable to fire, and, moreover battling to far away from the city and due to the geographical conditions are very challenging aspects. The national cultural assets, such as the many temples, vows to fire one if the loss of a centuries-old cultural property is a big loss of national posterity to great shame is not. Still cultural assets and a large number of visitors have flocked temples. All of us to keep the look and feel of the cultural assets pleasure to conserve cultural assets preserved to ensure that fire prevention is always unmistakably bear in mind that sees.

In this paper, structural behavior under fire conditions is comprehensively examined, and a novel software interface for testing interfaces efficiently is developed and validated. In order to accurately assess the response of structures to fire scenarios, advanced simulation techniques and modeling approaches are incorporated into the study. This interface enables accurate heat transfer analysis and thermo-mechanical simulations by integrating software tools such as CSI ETABS, CSI SAP2000, and OpenSees. Heat transfer models can be automatically generated, simulation outputs processed, and structural responses interpreted under a variety of fire scenarios using the proposed technique. As a result of rigorous testing and validation against established methods, including Cardington tests on scales and hybrid simulation approaches, the software interface has been proven to be effective and accurate. The analysis process is streamlined by this interface, providing engineers and researchers with a robust tool for assessing structural performance under fire conditions.

A series of fire experiments has been conducted to provide an improved understanding of the fire structure of under-ventilated compartment fires. A comprehensive and quantitative assessment of gaseous species from the fire was made in the upper layer of fire in a 40 % reduced scale ISO 9705 fire compartment. The global equivalence ratio (GER) concept was used to characterize the fire behavior for various fire sizes, fuel types and ventilation conditions. The oxygen concentration in the upper layer reached to zero near the global equivalence ratio of $0.4{\sim}0.6$ while the carbon monoxide concentration increases with increasing the global equivalence ratio. Classification parameters of ISO19706 were also compared with the reduced scale experimental data for under ventilation fire.
The burned patterns of fire are changed very diversely according to the direction of wind, conditions of combustibles, shape of buildings and so on in the fire scenes. And careful attentions are required on the determining of ignition point and fire causes. In this study, we examined that the burned pattern of fuel controlled fires and ventilation controled fires that impose a heavy burden on fire investigators, carbonized marks of floor, formed by flammable liquids, and combustion marks of falling firing materials through the fire cases. We suggest a proper fire investigation method.
Recently, advanced countries assessment the risk of fire to prevent large-scale damage to high-rise buildings, In addition, performance-Based design, which is a fire risk assessment, is being conducted in Korea to prevent massive damage to high-rise buildings. However, unlike advanced countries, fire risk assessment in Korea is subject to fire risk assessment only for objects subject to consent from fire-fighting facilities such as building permits, When building engineers and fire-fighting engineers assessment the risk of fire, It has always been discussed because the results vary depending on which part of the evaluation is focused between economic feasibility and safety. Therefore, in this study, we would like to propose a fire risk assessment process suitable for domestic conditions by comparing the process of performance-based design, which is a domestic fire risk assessment, and the process of Iso/TC 16732 which is an overseas fire risk assessment.

This study aims to establish a methodology for rational fire risk assessment for building evacuation safety in case of fire, and specifically, to propose a fire risk assessment technique using fire scenarios considering various uncertain factors in case of fire. In order to analyze the extent to which the assumed conditions can occur, that is, the probability of each accident caused by fire, the safety rate is analyzed according to the presence or absence of each factor by using fire statistics. Factors related to the fire protection performance and evacuation ability of buildings are defined as disaster factors. In this study, disaster factors were classified into the following three categories.
Background: Meta-analyses have shown firefighters to be at an increased risk of several cancer types. Occupational carcinogen exposure may explain these increased risks. This study aims to describe Norwegian fire departments' work conditions from 1950 until today, focusing on factors relevant for potential occupational carcinogen exposure. Methods: With the help of a reference group, we developed a questionnaire on topics related to occupational exposure to carcinogens for the period 1950-2018. Selected Norwegian fire departments provided department-specific responses. Results: Sixteen departments, providing fire services for 48% of the Norwegian population as of 2019 and mainly consisting of professional firefighters, responded to our questionnaire. The introduction of synthetic firefighting foams, more regular live fire training, the introduction of chemical diving, and a higher number of diesel-driven fire service vehicles were identified as changes thought to increase exposure to occupational carcinogens. Changes thought to decrease exposure included the switch from negative to positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatuses, the use of self-contained breathing apparatuses during all phases of firefighting, the use of ventilating fans during firefighting, increased attention to flammable materials used during live fire training, increased attention to handling and cleaning of turnout gear and other equipment, and installment of exhaust removal systems in apparatus bays. Conclusion: Norwegian fire departments' work conditions have seen several changes since 1950, and this could influence firefighters' occupational carcinogen exposure. A peak of carcinogen exposure may have occurred in the 1970s and 1980s before recent changes have reduced exposure.

When concrete structures expose to fire, the structures were damaged accompanied with degradation of material properties of concrete. In order to determine the reuse of fire-damaged concrete structures, it is needed a careful determination considering conditions of fire damage, such as exposure temperature and exposure time, and also potential to restore fire damage. This study investigates on the evaluation of residual material properties of fire-damaged concrete under different post-fire curing regimes. An experimental study was performed on concrete samples to measure the dynamic elastic modulus by the impact resonance vibration method. Upon the experimental results, the evidence of restoration of material properties was confirmed on specific post-fire curing regimes, higher humidity conditions. Additionally, a correlation analysis was performed on the dynamic elastic modulus with the tensile strength for identifying the effects of post-fire curing regimes on both material properties of fire-damaged concrete.
