This study was conducted to investigate the sudden rise of fine particle concentration after the passage of typhoon USAGI and NARI in Busan. Nocturnal inversion layer was formed at atmospheric boundary layer and wind direction changed from southerly wind to northeasterly wind after USAGI passed through Busan. Fine particle concentration in Busan rapidly increased by subsidence of air pollutants released from sources and dust transported from in the vicinity of industrial regions. Wind direction changed from northeasterly wind to southeasterly wind, wind velocity increased and lower atmosphere became extremely unstable after NARI passed through Busan. $PM_{10}$ concentration of Busan increased sharply because of surface dust dispersed by strong wind. Fine particle concentration generally decreases by precipitation and wind after typhoon passes through. However, the concentration can also go up not only by subsidence and transportation in nocturnal inversion layer but also by surface dust which temporarily occurs by strong wind.
Patterned vertical alignment (PVA) mode requires multi-domain to exhibit wide viewing angle whereas the transmittance is sacrificed. To overcome the demerit, a fine pattern was formed at folded region in PVA Z-shape electrode structure. In the present work fine patterns were formed near domain boundary regions where the unwanted field direction which causes the LC to tilt down in unwanted direction exists. Thereby transmittance is improved near those fine patterns. This method is very simple and more cost-effective process than the other methods. In this article, we show the method of fine pattern formation and its influence on LC molecule in PVA mode with Z-shape electrode structure.

When measuring fine dust at a large-scale site such as complex construction, the change in the value of fine dust measurement is large due to the influence of the time, location, wind speed, wind direction, and humidity. This study aims to find out the results of measuring fine dust in an actual construction site and inferring the changes.
Look direction bias in a single look SAR image can often be misinterpreted in the geological application of radar data. This paper investigates digital processing techniques for SAR image data integration and compensation of the SAR data look direction bias. The two important approaches for reducing look direction bias and integration of multiple SAR data sets are (1) principal component analysis (PCA), and (2) wavelet transform(WT) integration techniques. These two methods were investigated and tested with the ERS-1 (VV-polarization) and CCRS*s airborne (HH-polarization) C-SAR image data sets recorded over the Sudbury test site, Canada. The PCA technique has been very effective for integration of more than two layers of digital image data. When there only two sets of SAR data are available, the PCA thchnique requires at least one more set of auxiliary data for proper rendition of the fine surface features. The WT processing approach of SAR data integration utilizes the property which decomposes images into approximated image ( low frequencies) characterizing the spatially large and relatively distinct structures, and detailed image (high frequencies) in which the information on detailed fine structures are preserved. The test results with the ERS-1and CCRS*s C-SAR data indicate that the new WT approach is more efficient and robust in enhancibng the fine details of the multiple SAR images than the PCA approach.

This paper focused on investigating the seam strength by cutting direction depending on the fabrics and weave by comparing the tensile strength and elongation of bias, warp and weft of 4 kinds of find cotton fabrics and combining 6 kinds of seam cutting directions. The cutting directions are selected the warp direction, weft direction and 45-degree bias direction. Then, three kinds of directions, the warp/warp direction, the weft/weft direction and the bias/bias directions, and the three different kinds of directions, the warp/weft direction, the warp/bias direction and the weft/bias directions, were finally selected. The results are as follows: The tensile strength of all fabrics was higher in the order of warp, bias and weft direction and tensile elongation was higher in the order of bias, warp and weft direction in almost all fabrics. 100's and 150's cotton fabrics showed the highest seam strength when they were cut in the bias/bias direction. The seam strength of the fabrics cut in the same direction was the highest in the fabrics cut in the bias/bias direction. Four kinds of fabrics demonstrated the similar seam strength. However, for the seam strength of fabrics cut in the different directions, 100's cotton fabrics had the difference of seam strength by direction and weave, but 150's cotton fabrics didn't have any difference in seam strength by direction and weave. As described above, the seam strength was influenced by the cutting direction of fabrics. Accordingly, the seam strength can be improved by changing the cutting direction of seam when making the clothing.

Fine dust, which is emerging as a global problem, attracted much attention recently in Korea. One of the reasons is that recent factory relocation and expansion in China affected the increase of domestic fine dust concentration due to the influence of the Yangtze river battalion and westerlies. Fine dust is a big problem not only in outdoor but also indoors. The room requires periodic ventilation and is also essential for improving indoor air quality. The fine dusts are designated as Group 1 carcinogens in WHO and the risk of fine dusts on the human body due to respiratory diseases is also increasing. In this study, the characteristics of the fine dust adsorption matrix are examined and the actual application direction is derived.
This paper presents actuating characteristics of an asymmetric high-speed optical pick-up fine actuator that can be installed in a small area such as a notebook personal computer. In the asymmetric actuator four points (mass center, actuation center, supporting point of wire suspension on a bobbin, and optical axis) are not coincident so that the proposed actuator suspension reveals undesirable suspension resonance in the pitch and yaw direction. Lumped parameter dynamic model in each direction is used to investigate the driving characteristics with respect to relative location of the four points. Some of desired design directions toward reducing resonance peaks are suggested by using sensitivity information. In order to avoid undesirable resonance, at least supporting point on the obbin must be located in the middle of the mass and actuation center of the asymmetric pick-up actuator.

Recently, the Seoul government implemented 'Free Public Transportation' policy and 'Citizen Participatory Alternative-Day-No-Driving' system as 'Emergency Fine Dust Reduction Measures'. In this paper, after identifying the effectiveness of the two traffic policies, suggestions for direction of future fine dust policy were made. The effect of traffic on the fine dust was analyzed by regression analysis and the responses to the two traffic policies and petitions were analyzed using text mining. Our experimental results show that the responses to the policy were mostly negative, and the influence of the domestic factors was considerable unlike expectation of citizens. Moreover, the result made us possible to know people's specific needs on fine dust reduction policy. Finally, based on the result, the suggestions for fine dust reduction policy direction were provided.

Grain refinement of the structural steels was selected as the most effective method to meet improvement of strength and toughness without heat treatment. So, the future research and developing direction of ultra fine grain steels are more and more required to response to the production of eco - materials(environmental consciousness - materials) In this paper, the product of surface fine grain steels by CRCT and Inverse Transformation Method by warm deformation of martensite is carried out in order to improve the production process of Dowel Bar. It is possible to obtain surface ultra fine grain steel, when warm deformation of martensite formed after quenching is carried out from 730$^{\circ}C$ to 800$^{\circ}C$ in the finishing rolling step. The characters of surface with ultra fine grain steel is showing the cementite particles inside the ferrite grain and fine ferrite grain of about 1.2$\mu\textrm{m}$ in size.

The mechanical properties of ceramics materials can be tailored by designing their microstructures. We have reported that development of texture can be controlled by slip casting in a strong magnetic field followed by heating even for diamagnetic ceramics such as alumina. A strong magnetic field of 12T was applied to the suspension indcuding alumina powder to rotate each particle during slip casting. The sintering was conducted at the desired temperature in air without a magnetic field. C-axis of alumina was parallel to the magnetic field. Bending strength of textured alumina depended on the direction of oriented microstructure.
