The system of School Meal Service Support Centers was established to support the supply of high-quality food ingredients for school meal services when the School Meal Service Act was amended in 2006. A case study was conducted to examine the operating effects, success factors, and major obstacles of a School Meal Service Support Center which was highly evaluated for its operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Qualitative data were collected from eight stakeholders (two individuals each from the center, farms, schools, and distributors) through in-depth interviews in July 2013 and analyzed by using the thematic analysis method. The successful operation of the center helped to stabilize income and price among the stakeholders, increase ingredient quality, increase school meal reliability, reduce costs, and promote the consumption of agricultural products. Success factors were identified as the center director's commitment and insights, and the competitive operating system including fair operations, rational pricing, liberal consumer choice, total quality management, and partnerships with distributors. Major obstacles included a lack of diversity in supplied ingredients and a lack of administrative and financial support form the local government. The results can be used as baseline information to vitalize the system of School Meal Service Support Centers and increase the quality of school meal services.
The uniqueness of labour as a factor of production is that labour services cannot be separated from the employee. However, since the object of sale is only the services of the employee, not an employee himself, the labour conditions, determined by the labour and collective agreements or other agreements concluded at other levels and within the current legislation, are equally important. Speaking as a subject of labour, a person can realize his or her labour potential by the way of self-employment, that means to act as an independent producer seller of their products. Another way of labour potential realization is hiring, that means offering of the services as a hired employee to the employer, who is the subject of ownership. In this case there is an exchange under the principle: qualification and working time of the worker - for wages and profits. Each enterprise is confronted with a set of goals, among them - economic and social leadership. For their achievement the company uses all the available arsenal of resources - material, land, financial, labour. This indicates the equivalence of all types of resources in achieving the goal. But this is not quite true, because every resource can be included in production only through the activity of labour and people. And this activity depends on the attitude of the company to its employees, the degree of their motivation and stimulation.

The paper attempts to investigate the optimal capital structure of Vietnamese listed firms based on a structural approach. Using the data from around 70 companies in the Consumer Staples sector listed on the Vietnamese Stock Exchange during the period 2018-2020, this study finds that the optimal capital structure of examined companies has a wide range of diversification. This can be explained by the various types of actual products for each typical firm within the chosen sector. The result also confirms that a large proportion of researched firms were actually overleveraged, which is consistent with the trade-off hypothesis that firms wish to take tax advantages while using more debt, which creates the benefits from tax-shield. Furthermore, the research highlights the reversed correlation, which suggests that the lower the company's risk (the lower the sigma of the assets), the greater the optimal capital structure is suggested. Another interesting finding is that almost all consumer staples companies have a better optimal capital structure under the Leland and Toft (1996) model than under the Leland (1994) model. Furthermore, there is a strong correlation of optimal financial leverage ratio between years. In other words, the optimal debt levels of the latter year are strongly dependent on the gearing levels of the previous years.
In this age of information, companies are losing grip of their image. Perhaps this explains the reason why corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become somewhat of a buzzword among established fashion industry leaders-companies seem determined to show stakeholders that they have values, are responsible, and they are driven by more by values than the prospects of financial gain. This study assessed the effect of CSR have in the fashion industry on the corporate image, product preference, and purchase intention in China. Three hundred native residents in China participated in an online survey from 1-12th Jan 2017. The results were as follows: (1) CSR consists of five components; economic responsibility, ethical responsibility, environmental protection, consumer protection, and philanthropic responsibility. (2) Both economic and ethical responsibilities have significant positive effects on corporate image, while perceived CSR does not have significant effect on product preference or purchase intention. (3) Consumers' product preference and perceptions regarding corporate image influence their intention on making a purchase. These findings might operationally assist Korean fashion corporations to identify and address the critical aspects of CSR management which will improve their image as good corporate citizens and foster favorable attitudes toward fashion products from China. Further results and direction of future research were discussed.

The essential purpose of this study is to propose strategies for developing micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to realize sustainable competitive advantage by applying the SWOT analysis method. Thus, the main problems investigated in this study are: a) around 60-70% of MSMEs in Kulonprogo regency do not yet have access or financing from banks; b) lack of knowledge of production technology; c) in general, MSMEs business actors are still incorporated legal entities; d) MSMEs do not have a good financial administration and management system; e) coordination between MSMEs stakeholders has not been integrated; f) limited facilities and infrastructure of MSMEs, primarily related to technological tools; and g) limited access to raw materials so that MSMEs often get low-quality raw materials. This study employed a survey method with questionnaires and interviews. By using the Slovin tools sampling technique, the number of samples was 39 MSMEs in Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The results of this study confirmed that the Kulonprogo MSMEs should pay attention to seven aspects of business management to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The seven aspects are: 1) business strategy; 2) human resources; 3) information technology; 4) products; 5) promotion; 6) cooperation; and 7) corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Coffee, which has spread from Ethiopia to Arabia, Europe and then to Korea, has become the most beloved beverage among today's Korean people. After liberation, instant coffee was first introduced to Korea through the U.S. military, and coffee became popular in earnest. In the 1970s, Dongsuh Foods led localization of coffee by mass-producing instant and regular coffee, and in the 1990s, coffee shops replaced teahouses. After the 1997 financial crisis, office workers made coffee on their own as companies downsized on secretarial staff, leading to a further growth in instant coffee mix market. In 1999, the first foreign brand Starbucks was introduced to Korea and the culture of takeout espresso coffee took off. As consumers' preferences of coffee constantly evolve, the demand for high-quality specialty coffee has emerged, individual roasters have grown in order to meet the demand, and a viral marketing through SNS has been used as a growth engine. In 2020, the spread of coronavirus(COVID-19) is affecting the global coffee market. As many offices, coffee shops, and restaurants practice social distancing, out-of-home sales such as coffee shops have decreased, whereas sales for a takeout coffee and home-café products have increased.

Faith-based investment instruments, such as sharia-based stocks, have developed rapidly in recent years. When investing in these instruments, investors tend to emphasize materialistic returns as measured with monetary returns and metaphysical returns, such as blessings from God (Allah) because of their observance of Islamic teachings. In this respect, it is important to investigate the role of individuals' religiosity in investment decision making in Sharia-based financial products. An equally crucial research question is whether individuals' religiosity levels affect expected material returns as measured by the tolerable negative returns of sharia-based stocks. This study relies on a survey method that involves university students in Java island who actively invest through the Investment Gallery of their faculties/ universities as the sample. Data is then analysed with the multinomial regression analysis technique. The results show that individuals who are more observant of their religious teachings are more likely to fully invest their funds in Sharia-based stocks and exhibit greater tolerance towards the negative returns of Sharia-based stocks. The findings indicate that Muslim investors who are more observant of Islamic teachings emphasize metaphysical returns from their investment decisions.

This study aims to analyze the economies of scale of the cottage industry for coconut sugar production in Banyumas, Indonesia. This study applies a survey method to coconut sugar craftsmen. Data analysis was performed by regression analysis based on the Cobb-Douglas production function approach. The findings indicated that decreasing returns to scale was a problem for the domestic production of coconut sugar. These findings show that the production of coconut sugar is not very productive. Labor and financial capital inputs have a significant positive share but the resulting increase in output is less proportional than the increase in the two inputs. Social capital, experience, and education do not affect industrial performance. To increase input productivity and production efficiency, it is necessary to apply more effective production techniques and technologies to produce quality products so that the selling price can be higher. Additionally, it is required to enhance the sap's quality through its extraction methods and the regrowth of high-yielding coconut tree varieties. From the institutional aspect, the development of this industry requires stronger partnerships with related parties such as local governments, exporting companies, cooperatives, and universities through research and development.
