응집·한외여과 공정에서 역세척 조건 결정 및 막오염 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determination of Backwash Condition and Fouling in Coagulation/Ultrafiltration Membrane System)

  • This study is about backwash condition and membrane fouling at continuous coagulation/ultrafiltration process in water treatment. The capacity of pilot plant was $0.06m^3/d$. The result of the test, Backwash cycle time and duration time had a significant effect on the efficiency of system and backwash. Backwash duration time was determined to be fixed in 30 seconds for the system with more than 95% recovery rate, It needed 30 minute backwash frequency. During the continuous operation, membrane fouling was analyzed by determining the filtration resistance ($R_i$) and cake layer resistance ($R_c$). At the initial stage, filtration resistance highly influenced the fouling behavior. But after 1.5 hours, cake layer resistance became more important than filtration resistant.

인라인 주입방식의 최초응집이 케이크 저항에 미치는 영향 (Effect of cake resistance by first-aggregation of in-line injection system)

  • Cake resistance is influenced by floc size deposited on membrane surface. Enlarging floc size can reduce cake resistance. The small particles are enlarged by coagulation and flocculation process in conventional mixing tank at membrane filtration system. Fully-grown flocs for reducing the cake resistance, however, are ruptured while passing through a pump. In light of this fact, this study aims to experimentally look at the reaggregation phenomenon of mixing system. In addition, reaggregation phenomenon of mixing system is compared with first-aggregation of in-line injection system in which coagulant is injected just before a pump. These results suggest that first-aggregation of in-line injection system is better than reaggregation of mixing system for G-value above $3100sec^{-1}$. Since G-value in pipe of actual membrane filtration system are usually larger than $3100sec^{-1}$. The performance of in-line injection system is expected to be better than the conventional mixing tank system.

  • It is applied in the high quality equipment construction by introduction of this high duality treating technology (ozone treating, activated carbon treating, high quality oxidation treating, UV treating etc.)waterproofing or corrosion proof method caused secondary economy damage of operation discontinuance and high quality treating equipment for applying existent waterproofing method that corrosion proof ability (ozone resistance performance, chemical resistance etc.) and abrasion resistance performance by comprehension insufficiency of user and designer. Therefor, In this study, we will analyze problem of waterproofing and corrosion material of existing construction application by high quality treating, and measure physical performance change by various condition. It is required to waterproofing and corrosion system and application of the field valuation.

고지 분말 첨가에 따른 제지 슬러지의 탈수성 개선에 관한 연구 (Study on the Improvement of Paper Sludge Dewatering by Adding Wastepaper Powders)

  • Three types of sludges including printing paper, newsprint and tissue paper were prepared at 5% concentration for filtration-expression operations. Filtration-expression characteristics of sludge were measured in different pressure and wastepaper powder dosage. Specific filtration resistance and porosity were calculated with theoretical formula. Higher pressure increased the progresses of filtration and expression while it decreased porosity. The addition of 5% wastepaper powder more accelerated the progresses of filtration and expression than that of 10% wastepaper powder. The lowest porosity value was also measured at 5% dosage of wastepaper powder. The decrease of porosity implied the decrease of moisture content in cake. The results indicated that dewatering of sludge was efficient in high pressure and 5% dosage of wastepaper powder.

관내 입자 재응집에 의한 케이크 저항의 감소 (Reduction of Cake Resistance by Floc Reaggregation in a Membrane-Feed-Pipe)

  • Fully-grown flocs in a mixing tank of membrane filtration with dead-end membrane are ruptured while passing through a pump and the ruptured flocs are aggregated again in a Membrane-Feed-Pipe (MFP). To look at more details, this study tries to relate the reaggregation to a parameter of mixing intensity in MFP, i.e., G-value. The G-value is a function of Reynolds number, pipe diameter, friction factor and average velocity in MFP. To deal with polydispersity condition, we develop a representative particle size called in this study EDPD (Effective Diameter for Polydispersity condition in Dead-end filtration). The experimental results show that as the G-value increases, the EDPD decreases and also the cake resistance increases. Through comparison between EDPD and cake resistance, these results show that cake resistances are controlled by reaggregation phenomenon in MFP. The effect of detention time in MFP, however, does not affect the reaggregation of the broken flocs as G-values are increased.

Permeation Characteristics of Wastewater Containing Si Fine Particles through Ultrafiltration

  • The permeation characteristics of the wastewater containing Si fine particles were examined by ultrafiltration using the polyolefin tubular membrane module. Flux with time was due to the growth of Si cake deposited on the membrane surface and the pore plugging by fine particles. The rate of flux decline in the initial stage increased with the trans-membrane pressure. The pore blocking resistance was the dominant resistance at the initial period of filtration and the cake resistance began to dominate with the initial pore blocking resistance. The larger pores compared with the fine particles, the more the membrane pores could be blocked by the fine particles. Before and after treatment, the distribution of particle size was shifted toward to the left. Then, the average size of fine particles in the permeate was 20 nm.

중수 재이용을 위한 오존 고도산화 및 세라믹 분리막 일체형 공정의 최적화 연구 (Optimization of an Advanced Oxidation with Ozone and Ceramic Membrane Integrated Process for Greywater Reuse)

  • The aim of this study was to optimize the ozonation and ceramic membrane integrated process for greywater reclamation. The integrated process is a repeated sequential process of filtration and backwash with the same ceramic membrane. Also, this study used ozone and oxygen gas for the backwashing process to compare backwashing efficiency. The study results revealed that the optimum filtration and backwash time for the process was 10 minutes each when comparing the filtrate flow and membrane recovery rate. The integrated process was operated at three different operating conditions with i) 10 minutes for filtration and 10 minutes for ozonation, ii) 10 minutes for filtration and 10 minute for oxygen aeration, and iii) continuous filtration without any aeration for synthetic greywater. The integrated process with ozone backwashing could produce 0.55 L/min of filtrate with an average of 18.42% permeability recovery, while the oxygen backwashing produced 0.47 L/min and 6.26%, respectively. And without any backwashing, the integrated process could produce 0.29 L/min. This shows that the ozone backwash process is capable of periodically recovering from membrane fouling. The resistance of the fouled membrane was approximately 34.4% for the process with ozone backwashing, whereas the resistance was restored by 10.8% for the process with oxygen backwashing. Despite the periodical ozone backwashing and chemical cleaning, irreversible fouling gradually increased approximately 3 to 4%. Approximately 97.6% and 15% turbidity and TOC were removed by ceramic membrane filtration, respectively. Therefore, the integrated process with ozonation and ceramic membrane filtration is a potential greywater treatment process.

저밀도 원통형 세라믹 필터의 고온 여과 성능시험 연구 (A Study of High Temperature Filtration Performance Test on Low Density Cylindrical Ceramic Filters)

  • Cylindrical type ceramic filers, that is 60 O.D$\times$10t$\times$600L and 60 O.D$\times$10t$\times$1,000L were manufactured by vacuum forming processes using ceramic ray materials. For cylindrical type ceramic filters, porosity and bulk density were measured for, 80 to 90% and 0.3 to 0.4 g/㎤, respectively at uniform pore size of 41 to 45${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Bench scale candle filters (60$\psi$ $\times$10t$\times$600L) were tested using different dusts collected from many industries including chemical processing, glass processing and metal manufacturing pants. Collection efficiencies found out to range from 99.87% to 99.90%, while resistance coefficients from 1.1$\times$10(sup)11/$m^2$ to 1.7$\times$10(sup)11/$m^2$ . Full scale low density ceramic filters (60$\psi$ $\times$10t$\times$1,000L) were also tested at 1 atm, $600^{\circ}C$ to reveal the filtration efficiency, conditioning, and resistance coefficients using two different types of dust as chemical processing and metal refined processing. Darcys law resistance coefficients were measured to range 1.44$\times$10(sup)11/$m^2$ to 2.74$\times$10(sup)11/$m^2$, and collection efficiencies on the range 99.84 to 99.96%, Finally, results of long term performance test showed that filters were conditioned after 170hrs. Experimental conditions for effective filtration were examined under the condition 10 cm/sec face velocity, 3kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ pulsing pressure, 5 min filtration cycle, and 300msec pulse opening time.

알루미나 현탁액에 의해 오염된 정밀여과막의 역세척 거동 (Back Flushing Behavior of Microfiltration Membrane Fouled by Alumna Colloidal Suspensions)

  • $Al_2O_3$ 현탁액의 폴리에틸렌 정밀여과에 있어 역세척이 막오염에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하였다. 현탁액의 투과저항은 역세척을 한 경우가 역세척을 하지 않은 경우보다 작았으나 투과저항 증가율은 역세척을 하지 않은 때보다도 더 컸다. 막오염 형태는 역세척을 한 경우나 하지 않은 경우 운전초기에는 케익오염이 지배적이었으며, 이어 세공막힘오염이 나타났고, 정상상태에 도달하면 투과유속은 다시 케익여과 오염에 의해 지배받는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 세척공정에 앞선 막은 운전초기에 세공막힘오염이 케익오염에 앞서 일어났다. 총오염에 대한 케익여과 오염의 비율은 역세척에 관계없이 역세척 전에 비하여 증가하였다. 세공크기가 $0.24{\mu}m$인 막의 투과저항은 세공이 $0.34{\mu}m$인 막에 비해 더 컸으나, 막오염 형태는 세공의 크기가 $0.34{\mu}m$인 막에 비해 케익오염이 작았다. 총오염에 대한 성분오염의 비율은 역세척을 한 경우에는 세공막힘이 약 7.8%, 케익오염 약 92.2%이었고, 역세척을 하지 않은 경우에는 세공막힘은 9.6% 그리고 케익오염이 90.4%이었다.

여과-투과 방법의 이론적, 실험적 응용에 대한 연구 (Study on the Theoretical and Experimental Application of Filtration-Permeation Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 새로운 여과-투과(filtration-permeation) 실험 방법을 사용하여 여과실험에 영향을 미치는 인자 중 침전에 대한 영향을 입자현탁액과 플럭현탁액에 대해 각각 수행하였다. 그 결과 여과실험으로는 정확한 평균 비저항값을 예측할 수 없었으나, 투과실험으로 정확한 평균 비저항값을 측정할 수 있었다. 투과기간을 연장하였을 때 입자현탁액에서 형성된 케이크에서는 투과속도에 별다른 영향이 없었으나 플럭현탁액의 경우는 응집제의 쓸려나감 현상을 보였다. 또한 여과-투과 실험을 사용하여 투과시에 단계적으로 압력을 증가시킴으로써 단 한번의 실험에 의해 케이크의 압축성이 측정되어 질 수 있음을 보였으며, 이 방법을 응용하여 평균 비저항값이 큰 활성슬러지의 긴 여과시간을 짧게 줄여 측정하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다.
