The Korean blockbuster , which links the genealogy of Manchuria Western, adopts a safe nationalism frame, upgrading the genre's narrative typology to colorful action and spectacle, including the Japanese army, the Liberation Army, the good and evil, and the confusion of identity. On the other hand, , which deals with the friendship of the poet and the warrior, treats the mental and internal struggles implied by the power of poetry, without resorting to familiar nationalism and heroism. is a thorough genre of rules. • In the theater-based movie industry, it is known that the diversity of movie consumption is hindered due to concentrated consumption. This study extends the existing discussions on the concentration of movie consumption in theaters to the concentration of online movie consumption. In addition, the study analyzes the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on movie consumption and the concentration thereof. For analysis, panel data for the period from 2012 through 2021 were collected by utilizing the box office data of the Korean Film Council. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the concentration of consumption by movie, country, and genre was higher in theaters than online. Further, the concentration of movie consumption has increased both in theaters and online until the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. During the Covid-19 pandemic period, the size of consumption has decreased both in theaters and online, while the concentration of consumption by movie online has increased. The result of this study implies a need for policy-level efforts to convert the trend of consumption concentration for long-term development of the movie industry with secured diversity of movie consumption, and for this, the study suggests that the use of online media would be useful.

  • The Korean animation that has relatively short history compared to the Western Europe and Japan's animation started out from the non-commercial short-piece animation produced as part of advertisement animation and culture movie in the later part of 1950s. In 1960s, the culture movie animation reflecting for the Movie Act and cultural policies has hardly been mentioned in the history of Korean animation, but they are the precious cultural work produced prior to the theatrical long-piece animation. In particular, compared to the 15-second short CF animation, the short-piece animations are ranging for 4 minutes to 10 minutes as the work pieces with the historic value to measure the level of the Korean animation at that time. in 1960s, approximately 20 short-piece animation works were produced and they contained the educational contents to enlighten general public in the process of modernization policy. Those short-piece animations produced in cultural movie at the National Film Production Center of Korea had been produced not only in cell-facilitating cartoon animation, but also in paper animation and puppet animation. In this background, this thesis takes a close look to the short-piece animation works produced in the National Film Production Center of Korea in 1960s. While there was almost no studies of early short-piece animation other than CF works, it is meaningful to discover and analyze the works, and, Director Park Young-il, Director Han Sung-hak, Director Jung Do-bin, Director Shin Dong-hyun, Director Nelson Shin and others participated in the creative work process have worked as the animation directors for theater that the analysis on the works would be considered as important fundamental studies to understand the Korean animation. Under this thesis, it is intended to study the historic implication and formative characteristics around some 10 work pieces to affirm participating personnel, including directors, for the short-piece animation created by the National Film Production Center of Korea as well as the situation of time to launch the National Film Production Center of Korea in 1960s. Through this effort, it is intended to come up with the starting point to process enriched researches on non-commercial short-piece animation as well as contemplation on the Korean animation history that have been neglected in the study of the Korean animation history through such effort.

  • The history of modernization of Korea is divided into two folds of the colonial era in the 20's and the economic development era in the 60's. Most of the spaces built in the process of modernization were public spaces developed by the drive of the government. These spaces of modernization are functionality-oriented public places of production and at the same time, and they are the spaces of national power to symbolize the identity of national authorities. Along with changes in the society, modern spaces were reduced down to monument buildings without functionality and this requires new definition to renew the identity of modern spaces. Small stations, power plants, mines, warehouses, abandoned factories, and etc... the study has paid attention to the process of changing thought, one of the main characteristics of modernization, the relations of modern concepts projected in the spaces, framework of modern society, and placeness in the process of framework building and relations of people in the spaces with video records on the process of rebuilding new identity of modern spaces and memories of the spaces. The relations of modern spaces and memory were explored in < Seoul Station > while the relations between modern spaces and records and place identity were explored in < Onyang Folk Museum > and < Okpo Shipyard > respectively. In the relations between space identity and memory in each space, the ironic relations of power in modern spaces (placeness) and personal narrative (memories) were explored with oral narrative and video footage.

  • Yorgos Lanthimos' The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) uses Iphigeneia in Aulis written by Euripides, one of the three great Greek tragedies writers, as the archetypal narrative. Thus, Lanthimos introduces a mythical world stained with 'blood violence by a divine being' within the cinematic diegesis of a modern American metropolis. And the mythical motifs of curses and scapegoats are varied. This thesis tried to read the scapegoat mechanism, the oldest mechanism of escape from the crisis of collective sacrifice, and the imitative and mutual characteristics of desire and violence through René Girard through the mythical world built in the modern time and space of the film. Martin places a cursed oracle on Steven when his desire to place him in his father's place is thwarted. The 'good' reciprocity between two people is rapidly transformed into a 'bad' reciprocity. The Killing of Sacred Deer is an excellent portrayal of how the scapegoat mechanism works through Steven's family. The selection of the scapegoat by lot gives the sacrificial lamb a sacred character thanks to its divine nature, and the scapegoat becomes a sacred being, and the family order is re-established.

  • This research has the purpose to approach 'Audience participation theatre' through applying the concept of 'Hybrid' which newly come to the fore after 21st in a theatre space. In fact, 'Hybrid' has been suppling crucial power to create and pass a culture down for a long time, and it could not different to a theatre space. The hybridity in previous traditional theatre which is central 'text' and 'architectural theater' is limited movement only on the stage, such as 'an actor between presence and absence', 'a theatrical time between real and fiction' and 'an objet between An Sich(thing itself) and Fur Sich(thing with inner meaning). However after 20st's 'Avant-Garde' with 'decomposition sprit', the hybridity become broader from only on the stage to entire theatre space including auditorium caused by collapse the boundary between auditorium and stage. In other words, 'auditorium' and 'audience' are considered as 'a theatrical element' coequal with other elements, and it can create various special results through they are mixed equally. Therefore, 'Audience participation theatre' could regarded a kind of hybrid phenomenon between 'auditorium and audience' and 'actor and stage' which are most disparate relation, and it is also approached 'hybridized audience', 'hybridized space' and 'hybridized text' as a new identity.
