Domestic Development of Vibrational Film Forming Machine and Die and Mold in the High Speed Production(I) - Single production forming machine - (고속 생산형 필름 진동판 성형기 및 금형 국산화 개발(I) - 단수 생산 진동판 성형기 -)

  • Vibrational film has been more employed in ear-phones or small type of speakers along with a wide use of portable multi-media equipments such as MP3 and MP4. However, the current hand work production process of diaphragms is inefficient. In this study, a die-and-mold and a single production forming machine are developed, and they result in a multi-production forming machine. The multi-production forming machine consists primarily of a film feeding unit and an unwinding unit. A vacuum suction device provides the film feeding unit, while the unwinding unit is obtained using an appropriate damper. The advantage of the developed single production forming machine is shown according to a proper voice test.

  • Moisture loss of fresh fruits and vegetables is a main cause of deterioration. It resulted not only in the direct quantitative loss, but also in change in appearance, texture and nutrition. To reduce the loss of moisture content during the distribution in the market, fresh products are packaged using plastic films. But, most of the fresh products are packaged manually in Korea. In order to minimize the labor requirement, the packaging machine for fruits and vegetables was developed and tested. Prototype was composed of film feeding unit, bag former, products feeding conveyor, film feeding roller, center sealer, end sealer and discharge conveyor. Green peppers, carrots and perilla leaves were tested with prototype. Prototype could pack 1780, 1390, 1780 bags per hour at the feeding speed of 0.08m/s respectively and 2250, 1810, 2640bags per hour at the feeding speed of 0.10m/s respectively. And packaging speed of green peppers and carrots was improved by 3.7 and 3.4 times compared with manual packaging. The packaging condition with the prototype was good and the products had almost no damages.

  • This study consists of two parts. The first discusses the development of a single production forming machine which was reported in earlier papers. The second outlines the development of a multi-production forming machine, which consists primarily of a film feeding unit, an unwinding unit, and a heating block unit. The heating block unit of the multi-production forming machine has 30 members per die. An analysis of the stress deformation and temperature deviation of this machine is carried out using ANSYS Workbench and CFX-11 under the design conditions. According to this analysis, the maximum deflection in the Z-direction is $0.05104{\mu}m$ and the maximum temperature deviation is $0.7^{\circ}C$ when the temperature of the heating block unit is $175^{\circ}C$. It was also found that these values are structurally safe. The advantage of the developed multi-production forming machine is demonstrated to be in its offering of a proper voice test.

  • Manufacturing of printed electronics using printing technology has begun to get into the hot issue in many ways due to the low cost effectiveness to existing semi-conductor process. This technology with both low cost and high productivity, can be applied in the production of organic thin film transistor (OTFT), solar cell, radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, printed battery, E-paper, touch screen panel, black matrix for liquid crystal display (LCD), flexible display, and so forth. The emerging technology to manufacture the products in mass production is roll-to-roll printing technology which is a manufacturing method by printings of multi-layered patterns composed of semi-conductive, dielectric and conductive layers. In contrary to the conventional printing machines in which printing precision is about $50~100{\mu}m$, the printing machines for printed electronics should have a precision under $30{\mu}m$. In general, in order to implement printed electronics, narrow width and gap printing, register of multi-layer printing by several printing units, and printing accuracy of under $30{\mu}m$ are all required. We developed the roll-to-roll printing equipment used for printed electronics, which is composed of un-winder, re-winder, tension measurement system, feeding units, dancer systems, guide unit, printing unit, vision system, dryer units, and various auxiliary devices. The equipment is designed based on cantilever type in which all rollers except printing ones have cantilever types, which could give more accurate machine precision as well as convenience for changing rollers and observing the process.
