A Study on Optimal Traffic Detection Systems by Introduction of Section Detection System (구간검지체계 도입을 통한 교통검지체계 설치기준 연구)

  • A traffic detection system can be deemed as a traffic data and information collection system to serve traffic policies, traffic management, and user services. The system plays a crucial role in verifying whether or not the current traffic system has issues or problems by checking out traffic data. In addition, the system does so in finding out a point or a section where an issue or a problem has occurred, if any, and in examining the causes of the issue or problem, the extent of its impact that has occurred and spread, and a method for resolving it. However, the existing point detection system of Korea has too many flaws. In order to fix the flaws, in this paper, the theoretical characteristics of the section detection system were researched in relation to the calculation of travel time. In addition, the travel time of probe cars was obtained by field survey, and it was compared to that of spot and section detection data. Then, simulation was performed to determine the optimal section detection interval. In conclusion, introduction of optimal section detection system was examined in order to achieve the advanced road management including traffic policy, traffic management, and user services.

Development of Signal Control Strategy for Oversaturated Intersections Using Wayside Video Equipment (노변영상장비를 활용한 과포화 신호제어전략 개발)

  • The conventional real-time signal control strategy for oversaturated situation generally requires a number of detectors at the intersection in order to identify the queue length at each approach. Also, existing strategy for the spillback has limited effect due to the temporal spillback control which only reduce the green split at the approach. In this study, a signal control system utilizing the imagery information from ITS roadside equipment is developed for operation of oversaturated intersections. The strategy calculates the saturation ratio based on the queue length extracted from ITS RSE, and designs the signal control variables according to the saturation ratio. The signal control strategy is divided into two phases: oversaturated and supersaturated. In oversaturated conditions, timing plan for main approach is optimized by the queue length. In oversaturated conditions where spillback might occur, the signal timing is designed in order to avoid the spillback. To increase field adaptability, the strategy is designed to adjust the split length, all-red-time, and clearance time, and keep the major signal control variables intact. The result of the simulation shows that in oversaturated conditions, the improvement is similar to the real-time signal control system. In case of, oversaturated conditions, however, the effect of the strategy is superior to that of a real-time system.

  • 모든 SAR 영상에는 전자기파 간의 간섭으로 인한 스페클 잡영(speckle)이 존재하며, 이를 제거하는 것은 양질의 SAR 영상을 얻기 위한 필수적인 전처리 과정 중 하나라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 스페클 잡영을 제거하기 위하여 기존에 제안되었던 알고리즘은 잡영은 효과적으로 감소시키는 반면 경계선과 같은 영상의 고유 정보까지 함께 감소시키는 한계가 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 SAR 영상의 경계선은 보존시키면서 영상으로부터 불필요한 잡영을 제거할 수 있는 알고리즘을 구현하고, 기존의 알고리즘과 비교하여 그 효율성을 평가하고자 한다. 영상의 통계적 특성에 근거하는 기존의 알고리즘과는 달리 웨이블렛 변환(Wavelet transform)으로 경계선 및 특징 정보의 여부를 판별한 후 평균 필터(mean filter)를 적용하는 경계선 보존(edge sharpening) 알고리즘은 경계 정보의 신뢰성을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 1차원 필터를 수평, 수직, 대각선, 역대각선 방향으로 적용함으로써 하나의 영상소를 중심으로 모든 방향에 대한 경계선 여부를 확인할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 512 × 512로 절취한 1-look SAR 영상에 대하여 창 크기 5 × 5의 경계선 보존 필터를 적용하고 동일영상에 대하여 기존의 Lee, Kuan, Frost 필터 등의 실험결과를 비교함으로써 그 적합성을 판단하고자 하였다. 실험결과에 대한 수치적인 평가는 ①정규화 평균을 이용하여 평균값의 보존 여부, ②편차 계수를 이용한 스페클 잡영의 제거 여부, ③경계선 보존지수(EPI)를 이용한 경계선의 보존 정도를 통해 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 실험결과를 통해 경계선 보존 필터는 평균값의 보존 여부 및 스페클 잡영 제거 정도에 있어 다른 필터들과 큰 차이가 없지만 경계선보존지수는 다른 필터들에 비하여 가장 우수함을 확인할 수 있었다.rbon 탐식효율을 조사한 결과 B, D 및 E 분획에서 유의적인 효과를 나타내었다. 이상의 결과를 종합해볼 때, ${\beta}$-glucan은 고용량일 때 직접적으로 또는 $IFN-{\gamma}$ 존재시에는 저용량에서도 복강 큰 포식세로를 활성화시킬 뿐 아니라, 탐식효율도 높임으로써 면역기능을 증진 시키는 것으로 나타났고, 그 효과는 crude ${\beta}$-glucan의 추출조건에 따라 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다.eveloped.   • BPR(Business Process Re-engineering)은 업무 프로세스를 혁신적으로 재설계 함으로써 급속한 외부환경과 내부환경의 변화에 능동적으로 대처하고자 하는 기업의 경영혁신 기법, 조직 재설계의 수단으로 도입되었다. 해마다 시행되고 있는 정보화평가위원회의 국가 정보화 사업에 대한 평가는 정보화 사업의 성과관리에 있어 BPR에 따른 조직과 제도개선 성과를 포함하여 제도혁신에 대한 인센티브 제공 둥 조직과 제도혁신 강화의 필요성이 강하게 주장되는 등 BPR은 공공부문으로 점차 확대 될 추세이다. 본 연구는 조직적 문제의 해결을 통하여 지방자치단체 GIS의 효율성을 제고 하고자 하는 목적으로 출발하였다. 따라서 BPR의 이론적 고찰을 통하여 지자체 GIS BPR의 개념을 정의하고, 지방자치단체의 GIS 시스템 도입 이후의 업무 프로세스의 변화, 업무 변화의 양상, 잠재적 업무 효과를 BPR의 기법을 통해 보여줌으로써 조직 재설계의 수단으로 GIS BPR의 가능성을 모색하였다. 이는 GIS 발달 단계에 따른 효과 창출의 패러다임을 고려한 지방자치단체 GIS 업무의 변화를 수용하는 능동적이고 융통성 있는 조직 모형을 찾는 것이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 단위조직, 진화조직, 전체조직의 GIS 발달 단계에 따른 지방자치단체 GIS 조직 모형을 규정하였다. 본 연구를 통한 시사점은 지방자치단체 GIS 조직이 현재의 단위조직 수준에서 진화조직의 단계를 걸쳐 전체조직으로 향하는 가능성을 제시했다는 점이다. 이는 지방자치단체가 각각의 단계에서 GIS의 도입 효과를 창출하기 위하여 충실히 수행해 할 것이 무엇인지를 BPR을 통해 조직적 차원에서, 그리고 조직이 다루는 업무영역의 차원에서 접근했다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 지방자치단체 GIS 기본계획에 있어 조직 측면의 장기적 비전의 제시가 가능하며 이를 통해 보다 성숙된 GIS 사업의 추진과 효율적인 시스템의 운영이 가능할 것이다.. 이상의 결과를 종합해볼 때, ${\beta}$-glucan은 고용량일 때 직접적으로 또는 $IFN-{\gamma}$ 존재시에는 저용량에서도 복강 큰 포식세로를 활성화시킬 뿐 아니라, 탐식효율도 높임으로써 면역기능을 증진 시키는 것으로 나타났고, 그 효과는 crude ${\beta}$-glucan의 추출조건에 따라 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다.eveloped.   • 사회의 빠른 변화 속에서 지자체가 처리해야 할 정보의 양과 행정수요는 점점 증가하고 있으며, 의사결정과 기획을 위한 정보망과 정보시스템의 활용 계획을 수립하여야 하는 필요성은 더욱 증대되고 있다. 도시정보체계(UIS)의 구축은 의사결정의 효율적인 도구로 각광받아 대다수 지자체에서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 지자체 행정업무의 70~80%가 공간정보와 연계되어 있다는 막연한 기대감에서 출발한 현재의 도시정보체계(UIS) 구축사업은 단지공간정보 관리 중심의 시스템 개발에 치우치게 되었으며, 시설물 관리 분야에 대한 사업을 이미 수행한 지자체에서는 향후 어떠한 사업들을 전개해야 할 지에 대한 보다 다양하고 구체적인 비전을 가지지 못하고 있는 것이 우리의 현실이 아닌가라는 우려를 하게 되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도시정보체계(UIS)의 새로운 비전 수립을 위해서는 막연하게 제시되고 있는 공간정보 관련성 분석을 보다 세분화하여 수행할 수 있는 공간정보 관련성 분석 모형을 제시함으로써 지자체 도시정보체계(UIS) 구축사업의 현재를 돌아보고 보다 발전적인 새로운 사업추진의 시각을 고찰해보고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 지자체 업무영역에 대한 보다 세분화된 공간정보의 관련성 분석을 위해 공간정보를 업무관점, 업무-정보산출물 관점, 데이터구축관점, 정보관점, 서비스관점으로 세분화여 하여 접근하였으며, 이를 종합하여 최종적인 공간정보 관련성 분석 모형을 구성하였다. 또한 지속적인 도시정보체계(UIS) 사업의 추진을 위해 시간적 개념의 변화 양상을 제시함으로써 GIS의 발달단계에 따라 어떠한 부분에 비중을 둔 사업의 추진이 이루어져야 하는지에 대해서 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 통해 시설물 관리 중심의 도시기반정보화에 편중된 도시정보체계의 구축사업의 시각이 행정정보화, 생활정보화, 산업정보화 등 다양한 분야와 결합하여 보다 큰 시너지 효과와 사용자 중심의 서비스 개선을 창출할 수 있는 기반을 제공할 것을 기대해 본다.. 이상의 결과를 종합해볼 때, ${\beta}$-glucan은 고용량일 때 직접적으로 또는 $IFN-{\gamma}$ 존재시에는 저용량에서도 복강 큰 포식세로를 활성화시킬 뿐 아니라, 탐식효율도 높임으로써 면역기능을 증진 시키는 것으로 나타났고, 그 효과는 crude ${\beta}$-glucan의 추출조건에 따라 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었다.eveloped. A Study on the Prediction of Elastoplastic Behavior of Carbon Nanotube/Polymer Composites (계면 결합력과 나노튜브의 응집에 따른 나노튜브/고분자 복합재의 탄소성 거동 예측에 대한 연구)

  • In this research, a paramteric study to account for the effect of interfacial strength and nanotube agglomeration on the elastoplastic behavior of carbon nanotube reinforced polypropylene composites is performed. At first, the elastoplastic behavior of nanocomposites is predicted from molecular dynamics(MD) simulations. By combining the MD simulation results with the nonlinear micromechanics model based on the Mori-Tanaka model, a two-step domain decomposition method is applied to inversely identify the elastoplastic behavior of adsorption interphase zone inside nanocomposites. In nonlinear micromechanics model, the secant moduli method combined with field fluctuation method is used to predict the elastoplastic behavior of nanocomposites. To account for the imperfect material interface between nanotube and matrix polymer, displacement discontinuity condition is applied to the micromechanics model. Using the elastoplastic behavior of the adsorption interphase zone obtained from the present study, stress-strain relation of nanocomposites at various interfacial bonding condition and local nanotube agglomeration is predicted from nonlinear micromechanics model with and without the adsorption interphase zone. As a result, it has been found that local nanotube agglomeration is the most important design factor to maximize reinforcing effect of nanotube in elastic and plastic behavior.

An early warning and decision support system to reduce weather and climate risks in agricultural production

  • Japanese agriculture has faced to several threats: aging and decrease of farmer population, global competition, and the risk of climate change as well as harsh and variable weather. On the other hands, the number of large scale farms is increasing, because farm lands have been being aggregated to fewer numbers of farms. Cost cutting, development of efficient ways to manage complicatedly scattered farm lands, maintaining yield and quality under variable weather conditions, are required to adapt to changing environments. Information and communications technology (ICT) would contribute to solve such problems and to create innovative technologies. Thus we have been developing an early warning and decision support system to reduce weather and climate risks for rice, wheat and soybean production in Japan. The concept and prototype of the system will be shown. The system consists of a weather data system (Agro-Meteorological Grid Square Data System, AMGSDS), decision support contents where information is automatically created by crop models and delivers information to users via internet. AMGSDS combines JMA's Automated Meteorological Data Acquisition System (AMeDAS) data, numerical weather forecast data and normal values, for all of Japan with about 1km Grid Square throughout years. Our climate-smart system provides information on the prediction of crop phenology, created with weather forecast data and crop phenology models, as an important function. The system also makes recommendations for crop management, such as nitrogen-topdressing, suitable harvest time, water control, pesticide spray. We are also developing methods to perform risk analysis on weather-related damage to crop production. For example, we have developed an algorism to determine the best transplanting date in rice under a given environment, using the results of multi-year simulation, in order to answer the question "when is the best transplanting date to minimize yield loss, to avoid low temperature damage and to avoid high temperature damage?".

  • During the past few years, Korea has experienced extraordinary floods, which have caused many damages of lives and properties. Flooding caused by typhoon is the most common disastrous phenomenon of nature among all catastrophes. As the average temperature of the earth has been increasing by global warming, the possibility of typhoon is also increased by abnormal climate changes. Along with the river improvement as a part of flood control, the time of concentration has been decreased, so the pick discharge has been increased. Moreover, with the land development activities, the area of storage has been diminishing, and the damages from inundation have been continuously increasing. There were a lot of damages to farmland in 1960's, industrial and public facilities in 1970's, and a lot of sufferings from the windstorm in 1980's. In 1990's, however, the amount of damages was increased substantially. So, there is need to decrease the number of the victims and loss of properties by applying preventive measures against natural calamities. This study has employed a simulation system to calculate the depth and amounts of inundation areas to forecast and prevent from flood damage by using rainfall-runoff model. In this study, a case study method is adopted to show inundation by using rainfall-runoff model, HEC-GeoRAS and Arcview. It is hoped that, this study would be conducive to professionals and organizations working in the field of disaster management.

Analysis of Highway Traffic Indices Using Internet Search Data (검색 트래픽 정보를 활용한 고속도로 교통지표 분석 연구)

  • Numerous research has been conducted using internet search data since the mid-2000s. For example, Google Inc. developed a service predicting influenza patterns using the internet search data. The main objective of this study is to prove the hypothesis that highway traffic indices are similar to the internet search patterns. In order to achieve this objective, a model to predict the number of vehicles entering the expressway and space-mean speed was developed and the goodness-of-fit of the model was assessed. The results revealed several findings. First, it was shown that the Google search traffic was a good predictor for the TCS entering traffic volume model at sites with frequent commute trips, and it had a negative correlation with the TCS entering traffic volume. Second, the Naver search traffic was utilized for the TCS entering traffic volume model at sites with numerous recreational trips, and it was positively correlated with the TCS entering traffic volume. Third, it was uncovered that the VDS speed had a negative relationship with the search traffic on the time series diagram. Lastly, it was concluded that the transfer function noise time series model showed the better goodness-of-fit compared to the other time series model. It is expected that "Big Data" from the internet search data can be extensively applied in the transportation field if the sources of search traffic, time difference and aggregation units are explored in the follow-up studies.

The Relationship between Subjective Driving Workload and Effects of PG Technology (주관적 운전부하 수준과 PG기법 적용효과의 관계)

  • The main objective of this study is two-fold: 1) to analyze the effect of PG technology application on road user's satisfaction and driving speed, and 2) to investigate the relationship between driver's subjective workload level and their reactions related to the PG technology application. Based on the result of field observation, the experimental scenario for driving simulation study was prepared. The experimental results showed that drivers were more satisfied to the road condition with PG technology applied, and even the pattern of speed reduction was more stable than control condition. The pattern of speed reduction along driver's subjective driving workload level were slightly different by physical road condition, and road user's satisfaction was revealed to be negatively correlated with their subjective driving workload level. This result indicates that depending on situation and driver characteristic, information for the drivers could be nothing more than nuisance that just distracts drivers. In order to facilitate the implementation of PG technology in Korea, further study on related human factors, especially for those who are weak in traffic situations, is recommended.
