현장 굴착 실험을 통한 사면붕괴 거동 연구 (A Study on behavior of Slope Failure Using Field Excavation Experiment)

  • Recently, the occurrence of landslides has been increasing over the years due to the extreme weather event. Developments of landslides monitoring technology that reduce damage caused by landslide are urgently needed. Therefore, in this study, a strain ratio sensor was developed to predict the ground behavior during the slope failure, and the change in surface ground displacement was observed as slope failed on the field model experiment. As a result, in the slope failure, the ground displacement process increases the risk of collapse as the inverse displacement approaches zero. It is closely related to the prediction of precursor. In all cases, increase in displacement and reverse speed of inverse displacement with time was observed during the slope failure, and it is very important event for monitoring collapse phenomenon of risky slopes. In the future, it can be used as disaster prevention technology to contribute in reduction of landslide damage and activation of measurement industry.

Cultivar Evaluation for Red Pepper under Organic Crop Management in Korea

  • To screen several promising red pepper cultivars, may be adaptable to organic cultivation conditions, seventy six F1 hybrids commercial and eight local purebred red pepper cultivars were tested. Comparing the infection rate of phytophthora blight between commercial (F1 hybrid) and local (Purebred) cultivars, average infection rate of commercial cultivars was 9.8% and that of local cultivars was 17.8%. But the infected fruits rate of anthracnose in field were similar as 3.3% in commercial (F1 hybrid) and 3.1% in local (Purebred) cultivars. In yield characteristics, average yield of commercial cultivars was 2.89 t $ha^{-1}$ and that of local cultivars was 2.22 t $ha^{-1}$. For organic pepper farmers it is more favourable to cultivation purebred cultivars because they can save to the same quality plant next year's crop. In this study among the local purebred cultivars, two cultivars are promising that their yield near to 3 t $ha^{-1}$ and have disease field resistance.

자동차 창유리의 가시광선 투과율에 따른 운전반응의 정확도 (The Effects of Auto-mobile Tinting upon Driver's Responses)

  • 자동차 창유리의 가시광선 투과율을 규제하기 위한 기준에 관한 기초연구로 두 개의 실험실 실험, 현장실험 및 실제로 교통사고를 조사한 현장조사를 포함하여 모두 4개 연구를 수행하였다. 이 가운데 실험실 연구들에서 가시광선 투과율이 100%인 조건에 비하여 65%, 50%, 30%인 세 조건에서 모두 오경보 반응이 유의하게 높았으며, 50% 가시광선 투과율 조건에서 시력이 0.7 이하인 운전자들은 0.7 이상인 운전자들에 비하여 누락 반응이 유의하게 높았다. 현장실험에서는 가시광선 투과율이 80%인 조건보다 50%와 30%의 가시광선 투과율 조건에서 각각 돌출하는 자극을 지각하는 오답수가 높았다. 교통사고를 조사한 현장연구에서도 80% 가시광선 투과율의 자동차를 운전하는 사람들의 사망/상해 사고빈도에 비하여 65% 조건에서 비율이 높았다. 이 연구 결과들을 근거로 가시광선 투과율을 규제하는 기준을 70%로 설정하도록 제안하고, 현실을 감안하여 이 기준을 점진적으로 적용하는 전략을 제시하였다.

수도포장(水稻圃場)에서의 동력경운기(動力耕耘機) 주행성(走行性)에 관(関) 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Mobility of Power Tiller in Wetland Rice Field)

  • To investigate the most important factors affecting the mobility of power tiller and to find the method which can be used for predicting the mobility of power tiller in soft paddy field, a series of field experiment was performed with two models of power tiller (8ps and 6ps diesel). From the results obtained throughout field experiment, the following conclusions were derived. 1. The wheel sinkage of power tiller during both traveling and field operations, which mainly influence the mobility, could be predicted from both plate ($50{\times}100mm$) sinkage and soil cone index (30-degree cone with 2 and $6cm^2$ base area). 2. Prediction of wheel sinkage from the rectangular plate sinkage was found to be more suitable compared with the cone index. 3. The upper limit of rectangular plate sinkage was found as 15 centimeter for operation of power tiller in muddy field which is equivalent of $1kg/cm^2$ of $2cm^2$ cone index value.

Evaluation of Control Efficacy of Biocontrol Agent, Epicoccosorus nematosporus on Eleocharis kuroguwai in the Field

  • This study was conducted to determine the efficacy of Epicoccosorus nematosporus for the control of Eleocharis kuroguwai and to evaluate the meteorological factors which affect weeding efficacy in field conditions for three years (1996-1998). The best time to control E. kuroguwai with E. nematosporus as a biological control agent in the field was in July, when temperature ranged from 20.4 to $23.4^{\circ}C$; the surface wetness duration was 12.6-16.1 hours, and application time of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; and weeding efficacy was 81-90%. On 10 June 1996 in Milyang area, where the field experiments were performed, mean temperature was $16.5^{\circ}C$ with 11.3 hours of dew duration. Meanwhile, on 20 Aug. 1996 the temperature was $21.3^{\circ}C$ with 15.4 hours of dew duration. During these periods, the weeding efficacy was recorded at 61.8 and 60.8%, respectively. Time required for complete plant death was 25.8 and 25.6 days at application times 10 June and 20 Aug., respectively. At the time of application on 7,18, and 27 July 1996, mean temperature was 20.4-$23.4^{\circ}C$ with 12.6-16.5 hours of dew duration. The weeding efficacies of these periods were very hi일 with 81.4-90.8%. Three years of field observations from 1996 to 1998 showed that infection in the field can occur at any time through the summer season, although total infection rates vary between months and between years. In 1996, plant infection rapidly increased from 56% on 30 June, 82.4% on 15 July, 94.6% on 15 August, and 92.8% on 15 September under favorable meteorological conditions such as minimum temperature of $17.6^{\circ}C$ and maximum temperature of $27.1^{\circ}C$, with 86% relative humidity and 977.5 mm of rainfall during E. kuroguwai growing season. However, in 1997, the disease incidence was very low because of unfavorable weather conditions brought about by the hot temperature and the low amount of rainfall at 321.5 mm. Disease progress was slow from 24.4% on 30 June to 49.2% at the end of the growing season.

Disease and insect damage, growth and yield of sorghum, foxtail millet between rotational upland and continuing upland field

  • This study was performed in order to investigate disease, insect damage, growth and yield characteristics of green maize by organic paddy-upland rotation system. This experiment also was to select optimum variety for organic paddy-upland rotation cultivation. This experiment was conducted at Anseong-si Gyeonggi province of Korea in 2016. The varieties used in this study are green maize of total 8 varieties. Green maize was planted at rotational upland field and continuing upland field and tested for comparison. In case of average occurrence of 4 major diseases for green maize, rotational upland field was higher than that of continuing upland field. Heukjinjuchal and Daehakchal were the lowest occurrence by less than 2% among 8 varieties. Average damage of 8 varieties by Ostrinia furnacalis larva, which is the main pest in green maize was higher in rotational upland field than that of continuing upland field. Chalok 4 and Heugjeom 2 were judged to be resistant varieties to 4 major diseases among 8 varieties. The average yield of green maize per 10a in rotational upland field decreased to 85% level of continuing upland field and Chalok 4 showed the highest yield by 789.0 kg/10a among 8 varieties. The most suitable varieties in organic paddy-upland rotation system were judged to be Chalok 4, Heukjinjuchal and Heukjeom 2.

온실을 이용한 홍고추의 건조 (Red Pepper Drying with Solar Energy in Greenhouse)

  • This study was initially performed to investigate current red-pepper drying methods commonly being adopted on red-pepper cultivation farm area. Based on the informations obtained from the field survey, an experiment of red-pepper drying was carried out to verify the actual drying potential of plastic covered solar house similar to the conventional pipe frame greenhouses covered with one or two layer of plastic film. Some results obtained from field survey and drying experiment for red-pepper are summarized as follows; 1. Various patterns of red-pepper drying process were found; 1) complete natural drying with red-pepper exposed in outdoor air, 2) hot air drying by dry chamber only, 3) combination drying by hot air dryer together with plastic covered passive solar house, 4) drying with plastic covered solar house unit. 2. The average air temperatures of outdoor and solar house during drying experiment period were $26.9-30.8\;and\;28.6-33.8^{\circ}C$, respectively, and the maximum air temperatures of those two were $34.2-36.4\;and\;39.8\;-52.3^{\circ}C$, respectively. Horizontal solar intensity during experiment period was $18.49-23.96\;MJ/m^{2}$, and relative humidity of outdoor and experimental solar house were 56 - 66% and 64 - 70%, respectively. 3. The weight of red-pepper during drying experiment period was decreased almost linearly from initial moisture content of 85% to final moisture content of 14%.

유기퇴비를 이용한 급경사 농경지 토양유실 저감 (Reduction of Soil Loss from Sloped Agricultural Field by using Organic Compost)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of organic compost for reducing soil loss in 25% sloped farm land. For the study, laboratory and field experiment were performed. After nine weeks monitoring in pot test, hardness of the amended soil with organic compost (1%~3%, w/w) showed two times higher than the control soil. Furthermore, soil loss of that was decreased by 95% under rainfall simulation test. From the result of laboratory experiment, organic compost with 2% (w/w) was applied for field experimental plot. After six month from April to September, the amount of soil loss became 67% of the initial, and the growth of natural vegetation was not hampered. Therefore, organic compost can be used as amendment materials to reduce soil loss in sloped farmland.

광탄성 실험에서 균열선단 응력장의 고차항을 고려한 응력확대계수 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Stress Intensity Factor Considering of High Order of Stress Field in the Vicinity of Crack Tip by Photoelastic Experiment)

  • Generally, photoelastic experimental data were measured in the closed vicinity of crack tip to determine stress intensity factors of a crack with photoelastic experiment method. In this case, only the first order term has been considered in the equation of stress field. But because it is very difficult to measure the correct photoelastic data in the closed vicinity of crack, the accuracy of experimental results was very poor. By including the high order terms in the stress field equation we could obtain the accurate S.I.F values by using clear photoelastic data in the distant region from crack tip instead of unclear photoelastic data in the vicinity of crack tip.

관 내 세정을 위한 초음파 음장 연구 (A Study on Ultrasonic Sould-fields for Cleaning in a Pipe)

  • This paper presents some results of research for applying ultrasonic cleaning to an interior wall of cylindrical pipe. As the cleaning is achieved better for higher sound pressure, ultrasonic sound field in a cylindrical container is considered. The paper identifies nonuniform sound field established by the radiation of a cylindrical transducer driven at resonant frequency, Numerical analysis predicts the sound pressure distribution, and experiment verifies the trend of analysis results. Experiment observes the cleaning effect, and this paper suggests the possibility of using a cylindrical ultrasonic cleaning device.
