Mixed feeds and their components are a very diverse matrix compared to other agricultural products worked on with NIRS classically. On a database of mixed feeds and their components (n=2.500) universal PLS calibrations and “local” calibrations were compared. The results from validation (n=600) show the potential of the calibrations and their limitations. Crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat, sugar and starch are predicted with SEPs of 0.6%, 1%, 0.3%, 1% and 1.5%, respectively. Ash content of 15% and more in several mixed feeds or components as well as rare components limit the use of NIRS for routine analyses.
The management of waste tire rubber has become a pressing environmental and health issue, requiring sustainable solutions to mitigate fire hazards and conserve natural resources. The performance of waste materials in structural components needs to be investigated to fabricate sustainable structures. This study aims to investigate the behavior of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforced rubberized concrete (GRRC) compressive components under compressive loads. Nine GRRC circular compressive components, varying in longitudinal and transverse reinforcement ratios, were constructed. A 3D nonlinear finite element model (FEM) was proposed by means of the ABAQUS software to simulate the behavior of the GRRC compressive components. A comprehensive parametric analysis was conducted to assess the impact of different parameters on the performance of GRRC compressive components. The experimental findings demonstrated that reducing the spacing of GFRP stirrups enhanced the ductility of GRRC compressive components, while the addition of rubberized concrete further improved their ductility. Failure in GRRC compressive components occurred in a compressive columnar manner, characterized by vertical cracks and increased deformability. The finite element simulations closely matched the experimental results. The proposed empirical model, based on 600 test samples and considering the lateral confinement effect of FRP stirrups, demonstrated higher accuracy (R2 = 0.835, MSE = 171.296, MAE = 203.549, RMSE = 195.438) than previous models.

Reaction injection molding (RIM) is a widely used process for producing various kinds of complex parts including automobiles, furniture, appliances, and housings. In RIM, products are made from two or more chemical components through mixing, chemical reaction, and molding [1]. Liquid reactants from two supply tanks flow at high pressure into a mix head, where they impinge at high velocity. (omitted)

Recently, organic-inorganic nanocomposites have attracted great interest from researchers since they frequently exhibit unexpected hybrid properties synergistically derived from two components[1]. The addition of highly dispersed inorganic nano-sized fillers permits improvement of certain properties of polymers as compared with conventional particulate composites; increase of modulus and strength, improved barrier properties, increase in solvent and heat resistance, and good optical properties[2]. Cellulose/chitosan and sericin/chitosan blend films with various mixing ratios were prepared and tensile properties, solubilities to the aqueous solution of acetic acid and the degree of swelling by the distilled water were measured. The interaction between the components of blend film and the blending effect were investigated.

Polyimides (PI) are widely used in applications ranging from microelectronics to aerospace. Due to their insulating nature, significant accumulation of electrostatic charge may result on their surface, causing local heating and premature degradation to electronic components or space structures. Over the past decade, several publications have been made in fabrication and charaterization of CNT nanocomposites [1,2]. (omitted)

Ultrasonic wave has three classes of applications such as communication, inspection, imagination and processing. In processing, ultrasonic is used web bonding for nonwovens with applications including floppy disks, medical devices and many automotive Part. The important components of ultrasonic system are power supply, converter, booster, hem, anvil roller, pressure system and hold time controller. (omitted)
To obtain the basic information for the utilization of Salicornia herbacea L. as a raw material in food and chinese herbs, chemical components of it were investigated. Leaves and stems of S. herbacea L. from the western coast of Korea were used after dry and grinding with powder. Dietary fiber, total sugar and uronic acid contents of S. herbacea L. were 60.7, 15.2 and 2.6% , respectively. This result suggest that dietary fiber content of S. herbacea L. is so higher than others. Choline and betaine which are important as bioactive compound in body were detected with the value of 29mg/100g and 888mg/100g, respectively. Mineral components of S. herbacea L. were rich in Na (2880mg/100g), Ca (440mg/100g), K (930mg/100g) and Mg (356mg/100g).
Composite materials are created by combining two or more component to achieve desired properties which could not be obtained with the separate components. The use of reinforcing fillers, which can reduce material costs and improve certain properties, is increasing in thermoplastic polymer composites. Currently, various inorganic fillers such as talc, mica, clay, glass fiber and calcium carbonate are being incorporated into thermoplastic composites. Nevertheless, lignocellulose fibers have drawn attention due to their abundant availability, low cost and renewable nature. In recent, interest has grown in composites made from lignocellulose fiber in thermoplastic polymer matrices, particularly for low cost/high volume applications. In addition to high specific properties, lignocellulose fibers offer a number of benefits for lignocellulose fiber/thermoplastic polymer composites. These include low hardness, which minimize abrasion of the equipment during processing, relatively low density, biodegradability, and low cost on a unit-volume basis. In spite of the advantage mentioned above, the use of lignocellulose fibers in thermoplastic polymer composites has been plagued by difficulties in obtaining good dispersion and strong interfacial adhesion because lignocellulose fiber is hydrophilic and thermoplastic polymer is hydrophobic. The application of lignocellulose fibers as reinforcements in composite materials requires, just as for glass-fiber reinforced composites, a strong adhesion between the fiber and the matrix regardless of whether a traditional polymer matrix, a biodegradable polymer matrix or cement is used. Further this article gives a survey about physical and chemical treatment methods which improve the fiber matrix adhesion, their results and effects on the physical properties of composites. Coupling agents in lignocellulose fiber and polymer composites play a very important role in improving the compatibility and adhesion between polar lignocellulose fiber and non-polar polymeric matrices. In this article, we also review various kinds of coupling agent and interfacial mechanism or phenomena between lignocellulose fiber and thermoplastic polymer.
