  • The accuracy of typical dosimeters used around high energy accelerator were proved by dose rate measurements. The experimental neutron spectrum were useful for improving high energy Monte Carlo codes by validating the implemented models. In series of this joint research the experimental data will be upgrade successively. This research program is opened to experts and students in Korea, too.

  • We first deduce a uniform formula forthe Fermi energy of degenerate and relativistic electrons in the weak-magnetic field approximation. Then we obtain an expression of the special solution for the electron Fermi energy through this formula, and express the electron Fermi energy as a function of electron fraction and matter density. Our method is universally suitable for relativistic electron- matter regions in neutron stars in the weak-magnetic field approximation.

  • Unexpectedly, the brightest row was known to represents the lowest lying Te atoms in the STM image of NbTe2. Projected density of states and crystal orbital overlap population show that the 5pz orbital of the lowest lying Te(2) atom doe s not interact with the 4d orbital of Nb strongly so that the 5pz band remains in the vicinity of the Fermi energy. Consequently the lowest lying Te(2) atoms contribute higher electron density near the Fermi energy which in turn exhibits brightest image in the STM experiments.

  • In practical applications play an new important role timelike biharmonic particle by Fermi-Walker derivative. In this article, we get a innovative interpretation about timelike biharmonic particle by means of Fermi-Walker derivative and parallelism in Heisenberg spacetime. With this new representation, we derive necessary and sufficient condition of the given particle to be the inextensible flow. Moreover, we provide several characterizations designed for this particles in Heisenberg spacetime.

  • The band structures and the densities of states at the Fermi energy for rutile, anatase and brookite phases are investigated along with the structure-photocatlaytic relationship by using DFT method. Bands are less dispersive in anatase phase than in rutile phase, and they are almost flat in brookite phase. As a result, the DOS value near the Fermi energy for brookite is highest among three types of $TiO_{2}$, which means that the numbers of electrons near the Fermi energy are largest in brookite. The calculation shows that brookite phase may exhibit highest photocatalytic efficiency among three types of $TiO_{2}$.

  • Here we review the effort of Fermi Asian Network (FAN) in exploring the supernova remnants (SNRs) with state-of-art high energy observatories, including Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and Chandra X-ray Observatory, in the period of 2011- 2012. Utilizing the data from Fermi LAT, we have discovered the GeV emission at the position of the Galactic SNR Kes 17 which provides evidence for the hadronic acceleration. Our study also sheds light on the propagation of cosmic rays from their acceleration site to the intersteller medium. We have also launched an identification campaign of SNR candidates in the Milky Way, in which a new SNR G308.3-1.4 have been uncovered with our Chandra observation. Apart from the remnant, we have also discovered an associated compact object at its center. The multiwavelength properties of this X-ray source suggest it can possibly be the compact binary that survived a supernova explosion.

  • Negative-differential conductance (NDC) characteristics as well as negative-differential trans-conductance (NDT) characteristics have been observed in the room temperature I-V characteristics of Field-induced Inter-band Tunneling Effect Transistors (FITETs). These characteristics have been explained with inter-band tunneling physics, from which, inter-band tunneling current flows when the energy bands of degenerately doped regions align, and it does not flow when they don't. FITET is an SOI device and the body region is not directly connected to the external terminal. Therefore, Fermi energy in the body region is determined by electrical coupling among four regions - gate, source, drain and substrate. So, a quasi Fermi energy of the majority carriers in the floating body region can be changed by external voltages, and this causes the energy band movements in the body region, which determine whether the energy bands between degenerately doped junctions aligns or not. This is a key point for an explanation of NDT and NDC characteristics. In this paper, a quasi Fermi energy movement in the floating body region of FITET was investigated by a device simulation. This result was applied for the description of relation between quasi Fermi energy in the body region and external gate bias voltage.

  • Rotation-powered pulsars are excellent laboratories for studying particle acceleration as well as fundamental physics of strong gravity, strong magnetic fields and relativity. Particle acceleration and high-energy emission from the polar caps is expected to occur in connection with electron-positron pair cascades. I will review acceleration and gamma-ray emission from the pulsar polar cap and associated slot gap. Predictions of these models can be tested with the data set on pulsars collected by the Large Area Telescope on the Fermi Gamma-Ray Telescope over the last four years, using both detailed light curve fitting, population synthesis and phase-resolved spectroscopy.

  • Electron-electron interactions bear important information on fundamental electronic properties such as electron effective mass, conductivity, and charge mobility. By using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, here we address unusual electron self-energy in graphene induced by the electron-electron interactions, which are distinguished from those of an ordinary Fermi liquid. Our findings provide a new route for two-dimensional electron systems toward device applications.
