After making a survey of edibility of dog meat on 963 male adults and 539 female adults, totalled 1,502 persons, the results were primarily divided into ages and sexes, dealing with statistics by Statistical Analys System. As a result, those who had eaten dog meat is average 83%, among them male adults is 91.9%, female adults is 67.9 %. The reason they have dog meat is as follows : in case of male adults "Following others going to dog meat restaurant and eating" shows high of 34.7 %, in female, "following family members who eat dog meat at home and eating" is most in the figure of 25.6%. Average 86.3 % favors edibility of dog meat, and among them, male is 92.3% and female 72.1%. The highest reason that male or female who opposed to edibility of dog meat is for being inhumane. 79.5% of male and 64.9 % of female know the fact that edible dog is exceptionally bred. The respondents answered most that dog meat was purchased from market. The first reason for objection to the criticism of eating dog meat is that male and female commonly answered most that ′As dog meat food Is our traditional food culture. it is not the problem to be found fault with by others.′ The second reason for that is followed by iris deliciousness.

A female 8-year-old Pug weighing 7.3 kg and a female 10-year-old Maltese dog weighing 3.5 kg showing anorexia and vomiting for a few weeks were referred to Veterinary Medical leaching Hospital, Seoul National University. Radiographic findings were an enlarged right kidney in a pug dog and a radiopaque material on the right ureteral region lateral to the third lumbar vertebrae with indefinite right kidney contour in a Maltese dog, repectively. Excretory urography performed in a Pug dog revealed a poor opacified enlarged right kidney with absent of pelvic recesses and pelvic dilation with proximal ureteral dilation on contralateral kidney. Ultrasonographic findings were enlarged kidney with dilated pelvis and echogenic sediment within the medulla in both dogs and especially an engorged proximal ureter and a thin rim of functional renal tissue remains in a Maltese dog. Those diagnostic findings indicated high possibility of pyelonephritis and these were confirmed by pathologic examination. Radiography and ultrasonography, although not giving final diagnosis for pyelonephritis, are useful for assessment and diagnosis of pyelonephritis.

As a result, dog meat food most favored is Bosintang(dog meat soup), followed by Jeongol(dog meat stew), Suyuk(boiled dog meat), Muchim(boils dog meat added by spice and mixed). The frequency of having dog meat is two or three times a year. The age of having firstly had dog meat is most at the age of 21∼30 in male, and in female, 11∼20. Among dog meat cookery of Chosun dynasty known by respondents, Gaejang(dog meat soup) is most, and Musulzu(wine made from dog meat), Ott-bosintang(dog meat soup boiled with lacker tree), Pyeonyuk(boiled and sliced dog meat) follow respectively. It shows that the largest number of respondents answered what was improved after having dog meat was to \`become healthy, \`followed by \`become energetic\`. It reveals that dog meat cuisine desired to be newly developed was roasted dog meat, on which respondents answered most, followed by Tangsuyuk (fried dog meat served with syrup) and impromptu Bosintang.

A six-year-old, female Jin-do dog was referred for the recurrence of vaginal prolapse. Less than 7 months previously, the dog with the vaginal prolapse had been treated with hormone therapy because ultrasonography had identified a single follicular cyst in the left ovary. Three months after the first visit, the dog came into heat and the vaginal prolapse recurred. Ultrasonography showed multiple follicular cysts in both ovaries and radioimmunoassay detected a plasma estradiol-$17{\beta}$ concentration of 13.3 pg/ml. Treatment involved the repositioning of the vaginal prolapsed, ovariohysterectomy and the resection of the protruding tissue. The dog had been completely recovered two months later after the treatment.

Systemic lupus erythematosus in a dog, suspected systemic lupus erythematosus in a dog, and autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura hemmorrhagica in a dog are reported. A fice-year old, female Chihuahua (Case 1) showed initially hemorrhagic diathesis and purpura hemorrhagica. Afterward, it showed polymyositis and polyarthritis. LE-cell was demonstrated on LE-cell preparation trom blood. Systemic lupus erythematosus was diagnosed. This reponded well to the immunosuppressants, but developed iatrogenic Cushing syndrome and steroid hepatopathy. A two-and-half-year old, male toy poodle (Case 2) had chief complaint of red urine. Occult blood test for the urine sediment. This did not respond at all to antibiotics and carbazochrome, which is one of systemic coagulants. LE-cell was demonstrated on LE-cell preparation from blood. This responded relatively well to immunosupressants such as prenisolone, azathioprine and cyclophosphamide. systemic lupus erythematosus is suspected. A nine-year-and-three-month old, female Maltese (Case 3), which had history of congestive heart failure and ovariohysterectomy showed purpura hemorrhagica in the skin of chest. This had severe thrombocytopenia and leukocytosis. As prednisolone was administered before immunological examination or demonstration of LE-cell, it was impossible to diagnose whether purpura hemorrhagica developed as a member of systemic lupus erythematosus or independent of systemic lupus erythematosus. This responded well to prednisolone, and so autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura hemorrhagica was diagnosed.

A 2-year-old, spayed female dog with the chief concern of repeated aggression to strange person at owner’s dock and house was presented to the Animal Behavior Clinic at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. Based on the questionnaire and interview about dog, territorial aggression was diagnosed. Behavior modification protocols (protocol for deference; protocol for relaxation; ignore unwanted behaviors; reward relaxed behaviors; using Promise collar; avoid all situations that elicit aggression) were recommended. After 6 months from the first consulting, aggressive behaviors of the dog were alleviated.

A 6-year-old spayed female mixed-breed dog presented with noisy respiration and progressive dyspnea. A physical examination and computed tomography revealed an approximately 3-cm ill-marginated laryngeal mass. As there was no metastasis, the mass was surgically removed. Postoperatively, the dog recovered well, and the mass was diagnosed as rhabdomyosarcoma via immunohistochemical staining. At 20 months postoperatively, the dog was healthy without any clinical signs, and radiographs obtained during follow-up did not reveal any abnormalities.

A female, 14-year-old mixed dog weighing 4 kg and a female,8-year-old schnauzer dog weighing 6 kg showing vaginal discharges and vomiting for a few weeks were examined for the preoperative check of anterior cruciate ligament rupture and the recheck after the surgery of nephrectomy. There were no distinct abnormal signs except for the increased CBC at schnauzer dog on blood chemistry analysis. Radiographic and ultrasonographic findings were a large abdominal mass and a cyst-like hypoechogenic or anechogenic cavitary lesion on the ovary region. These findings were consistent with an ovarian cyst. Thereafter highly suspected ovarian cysts by diagnostic imaging were supported by high estrogen concentration on hormonal assay and the results of Pathologic examination as the unilateral ovarian cysts with secondary pyometra.

A 14-year-old, spayed female Labrador Retriever breed dog with housesoiling problem was presented to the Animal Behavior Clinic, College of Veterinary Medicine, Gyeongsang National University. Housesoiling problem was diagnosed as geriatric incontinence based on the questionnaire and interview on the dog. Pharmacological treatment was recommended. Phenylpropanolamine was prescribed at a dosage of 1.19 mg/kg PO q48h for 3 weeks. Housesoiling problem caused by geriatric incontinence disappeared after the treatment.

A case of ovarian teratoma is reported in a 11-year-old female Korean Jindo dog. Grossly, the left ovary was markedly enlarged ($5{\times}4{\times}4 cm in size$) and contained several cystic spaces filled with hairs and yellowish, fragile deratinous material on cross section. Histological observation of the hair and keratin containing cystic structures lined by stratified squamous epithelium, mature adipose tissue, and bone and cartilage is compatible with a diagnosis of ovarian teratoma, pyometra was also present in this dog. This is believed to be the first report on canine ovarian teratoma in Korea.
