Development of a constant pressure feed system using a constant pressure proportional control mode (정압비례제어방식을 적용한 정압급수장치의 개발)

  • Automatic feed pumps are operated and stopped by a pressure switch. Thus, because of repeated operations and stops of the pumps according to fluctuations of water volume, operation with constant rate and pressure is impossible. Moreover, because of repeated running of the pump, keeping up of constant pressure is impossible and damage and energy loss are weak points of the pimps. To make up for defects of an automatic feed pump, this paper designed and made a static pressure feed system which was composed of a feed water control valve, a flow sensor and a control system. The valve device plays an important part in reducing load of pumps by constant water supply regardless of outflow of water. Outflow of water is determined by infrared diode of the flow sensor. The control system is made of a 8 bit micro-processor and the pump was controled by a specific control algorithm. With the constant pressure feed system, discharge pressure was kept at fixed pressure, accurate operations and stops were smoothly accomplished and the pump was operated with constant pressure. Thus, the constant pressure feed system can be considered as an advanced system which made up for the weak points in the current automatic feed systems.

Effect of the Ratio of Non-fibrous Carbohydrates to Neutral Detergent Fiber and Protein Structure on Intake, Digestibility, Rumen Fermentation, and Nitrogen Metabolism in Lambs

  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of the ratio of non-fibrous carbohydrates to neutral detergent fibre (NFC/NDF) and undegraded dietary protein (UDP) on rumen fermentation and nitrogen metabolism in lambs. Four $Dorper{\times}thin-tailed$ Han crossbred lambs, averaging $62.3{\pm}1.9kg$ of body weight and 10 mo of age, were randomly assigned to four dietary treatments of combinations of two levels of NFC/NDF (1.0 and 1.7) and two levels of UDP (35% and 50% of crude protein [CP]). Duodenal nutrient flows were measured with dual markers of Yb and Co, and microbial N (MN) synthesis was estimated using $^{15}N$. High UDP decreased organic matter (OM) intake (p = 0.002) and CP intake (p = 0.005). Ruminal pH (p<0.001), ammonia nitrogen ($NH_3-N$; p = 0.008), and total volatile fatty acids (p<0.001) were affected by dietary NFC/NDF. The ruminal concentration of $NH_3-N$ was also affected by UDP (p<0.001). The duodenal flow of total MN (p = 0.007) was greater for lambs fed the high NFC/NDF diet. The amount of metabolisable N increased with increasing dietary NFC:NDF (p = 0.02) or UDP (p = 0.04). In conclusion, the diets with high NFC/NDF (1.7) and UDP (50% of CP) improved metabolisable N supply to lambs.

Response of Growing and Laying Japanese Quails (Coturnix japonica) to Dietary Sunflower Seed Meal

  • High fibre (CF, 242 g/kg) sunflower seed meal (SSM) was incorporated in standard grower and layer quail diets at 0, 50, 75 or 100 g/kg replacing part of the soybean meal (SBM) and deoiled rice bran (DORB). Each grower diet was offered to 30 quails housed in battery cages from day one to 5 weeks of age. At the end of the growing period, Twelve female quails from each of the four respective dietary groups were transferred to the individual laying cages and their laying performance from 7 to 20 weeks of age were evaluated on diets containing SSM at similar levels as that during the growing period. The results of growth bioassay revealed that the live weight gain, feed intake, nutrient retention and carcass characteristics of quails in different dietary groups did not vary significantly (p>0.05), although the quails fed SSM based diets utilized the feed less (p<0.05) efficiently than those fed the control diet. During the laying period, the egg production and egg quality traits remained unaffected due to dietary treatments but feed required per unit egg production increased (p<0.05) as the level of SSM in diet was increased to 100 g/kg. Although, the cost of feed per kg decreased due to the incorporation of SSM in diet but the same was not reflected in feed cost per unit gain, meat or egg production as such parameters were comparable on all the diets. It could thus be concluded that the SSM can be incorporated in quail diets upto 100 g/kg for part of SBM, an item usually expensive and also in short supply in developing countries including India.

  • A construction process of hydrogen peroxide supply system was investigated to use hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizer of bi-propellant liquid rocket engine. To use hydrogen peroxide as a rocket propellant, it has to be in high concentration over 90%. It is very important to make the supply system free of pollutants, because highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide has a characteristic of hypersensitive reaction to pollutants such as dust and oil sludge. We suggested the cleaning and passivation process of main components to minimize pollutants of the supply system. In conclusion, we verified stability of the constructed supply system by leak test and hot test.

  • Future war needs a lot of changes for military organization. Specially, concept of the "Speed" is raised importantly after Iraq war of U.S. Armed Forces. So, He is a lot of studying supply chain for logistical support speed improvement. Korea Marine Corps has made an efforts to improve supply chain. However it is real that is putting various techniques by prescription rather than fundamental change. These simplicity prescriptions are not only systematic but also insufficient for Marine Corps' survival. In addition, Korea marine corps in actuality is depending on many members in marine and navy in feed chain. Thus it is not establishing even tactical, decision-making plan of operation for support ability cultivation. Therefore, in this study, with Sense and Response concept that is United States Marine Corps' support strategy, presented theoretical background and basis frame that serve that Korea Marine Corps's supply chain changes to perception reaction formation.

  • The korea Electric Railway feeder voltage is DC 1500V and AC 250000V. The auxiliary power supply of the vehicle auxiliary power units for domestic electrical feed has been developed with domestic technology hyeonchae mounted station, and domestic uses, such as voltage, have been exported to other countries. However, do not use at domestic that can be used for DC 3000V voltage auxiliary power unit does not develop, vehicle exports global. This has already been replaced by imported products from other nations is a real situation. Thus, our auxiliary power unit for the DC 3000V was developed, it will be exported to Ukraine. In this paper, We introduced circuit and structure of developed auxiliary power supply unit, and verified the performance with output characteristic of the auxiliary power unit.

  • High-speed rotors set a lot of high vibration and stability problems especially when the speed of rotation is going through the first or the second critical speed. The aim of this paper is to investigate the possibility of an active control of a rigid rotor with squeeze film damper which has a good configuration of easily controlled end seal clearances and/or adjustment of a feed pressure. A theoretical method is presented and some numerical results are compared with test measurements. Both results show that the vibration or bit sizes are decreased when the end seal gap decreases with constant supply pressure, and when the supply oil pressure increases with constant seal gap. The experimental results show also a pleasing similarity on both orbit sizes and their decrement ratio compared with theoretical analysis. The possibility of an active control with the squeeze film damper was verified by adjusting the seal gap and the supply pressure.

  • The downstream piping system of the water supply system in a supercritical power plant is affected by the fluctuation pressure waves induced by accessing to the acoustic modes of the piping systems with the rotation and impeller passing pulsations of the feed water pump. There are the phenomena amplified at the same time in the range of 415 ~ 455Hz, 830 ~ 910Hz, 1245 ~ 1365Hz and 1660 ~ 1820Hz on the spectrums of the vibration, the sound pressure, and the pressure fluctuation waves.
