This paper introduces an auto-feeding system to exactly control the feeding time and the amount to cultured fishes in aquaculture industrial field. To reduce expensive costs or labors in this field, it was designed by the concept of controlling feed quantity exactly on the basis of fish's feeding behavior pattern in water tank. A feed control method of this system was developed for controlling feed amount by rotor capacity and motor rotated number. Moreover, a scattering section was selected by rotate way of propeller wing to scatter dried feed to designated site, and then, the diameter of its wing was 250mm and maximum scattering distance was 7.6m for 600rpm. Furthermore, the scattering ways were embodied 2 types such as a simplified way and a multistage shift way looks like a manual scattering. As a results, the multistage shift way is more effective to discharge the dried feed widely than the simple way in the water tank.

The buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) is an important contributor to milk, meat, power, fuel and leather production in many developing countries. Buffaloes can be categorized into Asian and Mediterranean buffaloes. Asian buffalo includes two subspecies known as Riverine and Swamp types. Riverine (water buffalo) and Swamp buffaloes possess different genetics (50 vs. 48 chromosomes, respectively), morphology (body frame, body weight, horn shape and skin color) and behavior (wallowing in mud or water) and thus, are reared and used for different purposes. Low per head milk yield, poor reproductive performance (seasonal breeding behavior, anestrous, and longer calving interval) and low growth rate in buffaloes have been attributed to insufficient supply of nutrients. In many parts of Asia, where the buffalo is an integral part of the food chain and rural economy, irregular and inadequate availability of quality feedstuffs and their utilization are hampering the performance of this unique animal. Balanced nutrition and better management can enhance buffalo productivity. Many efforts have been made in the last few decades to improve nutrient supply and utilization in buffaloes. Recent research on locally available feed resources such as crop residues, and industrial by-products, dietary addition of micronutrients, use of performance modifiers and use of ruminally protected fat and protein sources have shown significant potential to improve growth, milk yield and reproductive performance of buffaloes. However, a number of issues, including establishment of nutrient requirements for dairy and beef, development of buffalo calf feeding systems, nutritional management of metabolic and reproductive anomalies, and understanding and exploitation of the buffalo gut ecosystem, need to be addressed. Extensive coordinated research and extension efforts are required for improved buffalo nutrition in developing countries.
Objective: The objective of current study was to investigate the lactation performance and rumen fermentation characteristics of dairy cows fed a diet with alfalfa hay replaced by corn stover but supplemented with molasses. Methods: Sixteen Holstein cows in mid-lactation were randomly assigned to 1 of 2 dietary treatments: i) alfalfa based diet (AH), and ii) corn stover based diet supplemented with molasses (CSM). The experiment was conducted according to a $2{\times}2$ crossover design with 22-d each period, consisting of 17 d for adaptation and 5 d for data and samples collection. Results: Dry matter intake and milk yield were higher for cows fed AH than CSM (p<0.01). Milk protein content and nitrogen conversion were higher (p<0.05), while milk urea nitrogen was lower (p<0.01) for cows fed AH than CSM-fed cows. Contents of milk total solids, fat and lactose were not different between two groups (p>0.10). Total rumen volatile fatty acid concentration tended to be higher (p = 0.06) for cows fed AH than CSM-fed cows. Molar proportion of acetate was lower (p = 0.04), but valerate was higher (p = 0.02) in cows fed AH than CSM-fed cows. Rumen concentration of propionate, and isobutyrate, and ratio of acetate to propionate tended to be different (p<0.10) between two groups. The feed cost per kilogram of milk was lower in CSM than AH (p<0.01). No differences were found in feed efficiency and most plasma parameters tested (p>0.10). Conclusion: In comparison with AH diet, CSM diet could be fed to dairy cows without negative effect on feed efficiency, ruminal fermentation, but economically beneficial, indicating that CSM could be an alternative choice for dairy farms instead of AH to feed midlactation dairy cows.
The effects of various feeding ratios on the growth, body composition, and blood chemistry of the juvenile mandarin fish Siniperca scherzeri (initial body weight 9.6 g) were examined in recirculating freshwater system equipped with 21, 300 L tanks at 20 fish per tank. The triplicate groups of seven feeding ratios treatments were prepared: 100% (control), 95%, 90%, 85%, 80%, 75%, and 70% of satiation. The feed amount of control group was determined by supplying with apparent satiation and then the feed amounts of the other six feeding groups were determined based on the feed amount of the control group. Fish were hand-fed with test diet (55.4% crude protein) for 10 weeks. Weight gain (WG) and specific growth rate of fish fed to 100% satiation were not significantly (p > 0.05) different from those of fish fed to ≥ 80% satiation but were significantly higher than those of fish fed to 75% and 70% satiation. Feed efficiency, protein efficiency ratio, and protein retention of 100% satiation were not significantly different from those of 95% and 90% satiation but were significantly (p <0.05) lower than ≤ 85% satiation. Condition factor, hepatosomatic index, and coefficient variation were not significantly (p > 0.05) affected by feeding ratio. Whole body composition and contents of hematocrit, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic pyruvic transaminase, glucose, total protein, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in blood serum were not significantly (p > 0.05) affected by the feeding ratio; however, content of total cholesterol tended to decrease as the feeding ratio decreased. Using broken-line analysis of WG, it was suggested that the optimum feeding ratio of juvenile mandarin fish, ranging from 9.0 g to 37.0 g, appeared to be 87.7% of satiation without growth inhibition.

The present study was conducted to determine the effect of reduced dietary crude protein (CP) with a synthetic indispensable amino acids (AA) supplement on the growth performance, economics, and breast meat quality. A total of 450 male broilers (Ross 308) were used from the age of 7 to 28 days. On d 7, the birds were individually weighed and randomly assigned to three treatment diets with six replicate pens for each treatment in a randomized complete block design. The experimental diets were: (1) a control diet, (2) a diet with a reduction of 1% of the dietary CP with synthetic AA supplements to meet the indispensable AA requirement (OAA) of broiler chickens, and (3) a diet with a reduction of 1% of the dietary CP with synthetic Lys, Met, and Thr supplementation to exceed 5% of the indispensable AA requirement (HAA). There were no differences among the treatments on the final body weight, weight gain, and feed intake. However, the HAA diet impaired the feed conversion ratio at d 21 and during the overall feeding periods (P<0.05). The predicted total feed intake and feed price required to reached 1.5 kg BW was higher than for the birds fed the HAA diet (P<0.05). The breast meat muscle fiber cross sectional area and fiber density varied between the treatments (P<0.05). However, there were no differences in breast meat weight. In conclusion, reducing 1% of dietary CP had no adverse effects on the growth performance or breast meat yields.
This study was conducted to investigate the influence of dietary activated carbon(0.9%) and sardine oil (0, 1, 2, 4%) on volatile basic nitrogen(VBN), thiobarbituric acid reactive substance(TBARS), and fatty acid in meat sample of chicken. Broilers were randomly assigned to one of the file dietary treatments: 1) Control(commercial feed) 2) T1(commercial feed supplemented with 0.9% activated carbon) 3) T2(commercial feed with 0.9% activated carbon and 1% sardine oil) 4) T3(commercial feed with 0.9% activated carbon and 2% sardine oil) 4) T4(commercial feed with 0.9% activated carbon and 4% sardine oil). They were fed one of the experimental diets for five weeks and slaughtered. After that, the meat samples were stored over a period of 0, 1, 3, 7 and 10 days at 4${\pm}$1$^{\circ}C$. The VBN of all treatments significantly increased during the storage periods(p<0.05). Also, the VBN was not significantly between control and treatment group. In VBN of breast was higher compared with that of thigh. The TBARS of all treatments were significantly increased as storage period extended (p<0.05). The TBARS of control and thigh tended to be higher than that of treatments and breast. Oleic acid, palmitic acid, linoleic acid, stearic acid were major fatty acid in chicken meat. Saturated fatty acid decreased and unsaturated fatty acid increased of all treatments during storage. Oleic acid, EPA, DHA contents was higher in treatment group than the control.
This study was carried out to investigate the influence of dietary germanium supplementation on the meat quality of duck. Ducks raised for 42 days were slaughtered and the ground meats were stored at 3$^{\circ}C$ for 12 days under 1200 lux. Experimental treatments were divided into 3 kinds of meat from ducks fed germanium as follows; 1) Control(natural water + commercial feed), 2) T1(1~10 days: natural water + commercial feed, 11-42 days: natural water + commercial feed supplemented with 1 % germanium), 3) T2(1~10 days: germanium submersion water + commercial feed, 11~42 days: natural water + commercial feed supplemented with 1 % germanium). The pH of duck meat was not different among the treatments(p>0.05). The germanium treatments exhibited significantly higher crude fat content in both breast and thigh meat(p<0.05). In the fatty acid composition, T2 contained more unsaturated fatty acid than control or Tl. TPA(textural profile analysis) value such as hardness, gumminess, chewiness and adhesiveness decreased in meat from duck fed supplemental germanium. Cholesterol contents of duck meat decreased in dietary supplemental germanium treatment compared to control, but were not significantly different among them(p>0.05). Dietary germanium supplementation affected on lipid oxidation of meat during storage. TBARS of meat from duck fed germanium was lower than that of control(po.05). The CIE L*, b* and h$\^$0/ values of germanium treatments were significantly(p.o5) higher than those of control. Also a* value showed more stable in germanium diet treatment during storage. Therefore, dietary supplemental germanium to duck resulted in light brownish color formation, improvement tenderness and retardation of lipid oxidation of meat during refrigerated storage.

The objective of this study was to determinate the effect of food waste with probiotic supplemented diets on growth performance and body composition in broiler chicks. One hundred ninety six (Ross 1 day old) broiler chicks were randomly allotted to seven treatments and raised in barely cages. As the results of the experiment the body weight gain was increased significantly in groups fed control+antibiotics supplemented diets (P<0.05), but there were no significant difference in weight gain of the chicks fed diets containing food waste with probiotic and antibiotic supplementations (P>0.05). The feed intake was increased significantly in group fed a diet containing food waste 1.5% with 0.5% probiotic supplementation but it was no significantly different for rest experimental groups (P>0.05). The feed efficiency was reduced significantly in broilers fed food waste with probiotic diets compared to groups fed control and antibiotic supplemented diets (P>0.05). The large intestine weight was increased significantly in broilers fed antibiotic supplemented diet compared to control (P<0.05). The abdominal fat was increased in groups fed diet containing food waste supplementation (P<0.05). The rest of vital organs weights was not affected by additon of food waste and probiotic supplementation in broiler diet (P>0.05).
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary Panax ginseng Leaves, (PGL), Dioscorea japonica Hulls(DJH) and Oriental Medicine Refuse(OMR) on meat quality and physico-chemical properties in meat sample of Korean Native Chicken(KNC). KNC were randomly assigned to one of the 4 dietary treatment : 1) control(commercial feed), 2) PGL(commercial feed supplemented with 5% Panax ginseng leaves) 3) DJH(commercial feed with 5% Dioscorea japonica hulls) 4) OMR (commercial feed with 5% oriental medicine refuse). They were feed one of the experimental diets for 12 weeks and slaughtered. 160 KNC raised for 20 weeks. In the proximate composition, moisture, crude protein and crude ash was no significantly difference. But fat content were tended to high in control. The heating loss of control, PGL, DJH and OMR were 28.44%, 30.44%, 28.83% and 25.71% and control, PGL, and DJH were higher compared with that of OMR. The WHC(whiter holding capacity) was contrary to heating loss. The shear value and pH did not show any difference among the treatment groups. There were no significantly different in meat color(L*, a*, b*) between control and treatment groups (L*=63.20∼70.67, a*=2.20∼4.15, b*=2.70∼6.01). In sensory evaluation, juiciness, tenderness and flavor were not detected to panelist. Among fatty acid, oleic acid of DJH and OMR were higher than that of control and PGL(p<0.05). Also, saturated fatty acid/unsaturated fatty acid of control, PGL, DJH and OMR were 1.58, 1.58, 1.64 and 1.67, respectively. DJH and OMR groups was higher than control and PGL groups(p<0.05). Total amino acid contents was control>OMR>DJH>PGL. Major amino acid of KNC was comprised to glutamic acid, lysine, aspartic acid, leucine and arginine.
Two experiments were conducted to investigate the feeding value of wood vinegar in weanling pigs. In Experiment 1, weanling pigs (n = 224; Landrace ${\times}$Yorkshire ${\times}$Duroc, 21${\pm}$3 d-old, initial BW 6.12${\pm}$0.10 kg) were assigned to four dietary treatments. Different levels of wood vinegar were added to the diets as dietary treatments (0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3%). Each treatment comprised 4 replicates with 14 piglets in each. Experimental feeding was conducted for 28 d in two phases (phase I, d 0 to 14 and phase II, d 15 to 28). Feeding of wood vinegar linearly (p<0.05) improved the phase I, phase II and overall ADG and increased (linear, p<0.05) the overall and phase II ADFI. Linear improvements in the apparent fecal digestibility of dry matter (p = 0.013), gross energy (p = 0.019) and crude protein (p = 0.033) were observed as the level of wood vinegar was increased in the diet of pigs. Experiment 2 was conducted to compare dietary wood vinegar with commonly used growth promoters, organic acid (mixture of 21% phosphoric acid, 3.25% propionic acid, 2.8% formic acid, 10% calcium formate and 5% calcium propionate) and antibiotic (aparamycin). A total of 288 weanling piglets (Landrace ${\times}$Yorkshire ${\times}$Duroc, 22${\pm}$2 d-old, initial BW 6.62${\pm}$0.31 kg) were assigned to four treatments with four replicates (18 piglets/pen) for 28 days and fed in 2 phases: phase I, d 0 to 14 and phase II, d 15 to 28. The dietary treatments were control (corn-soybean meal basal diet without antibiotics) and diets containing 0.2% antibiotic, 0.2% organic acid and 0.2% wood vinegar. Pigs fed antibiotic showed higher (p<0.001) ADG and better feed efficiency followed by pigs fed wood vinegar and organic acid diets while those fed the control diet had lowest ADG and poorest feed efficiency. The overall and phase I ADFI was highest (p<0.001) in pigs fed wood vinegar and lowest in pigs fed the control diet. Apparent fecal digestibility of dry matter, gross energy and crude protein was significantly higher (p<0.05) in pigs fed the antibiotic diet when compared with pigs fed the control but comparable among pigs fed antibiotic, organic acid and wood vinegar diets. Higher populations of Lactobacillus (p = 0.004) were noted in the ileum of pigs fed the wood vinegar diet, while the population of coliforms in the ileum and cecum was higher (p<0.001) in pigs fed the control diet when compared with pigs fed antibiotic, organic acid or wood vinegar diets. These results indicated that wood vinegar could improve the performance of weanling pigs by improving the nutrient digestibility and reducing harmful intestinal coliforms; moreover performance of pigs fed wood vinegar was superior to those fed organic acid.
