Hitherto, a total of 112 species of 88 genera under 55 families of oribatid mites were reported from Cheju island. Of these, 76 species were added newly recorded species as the faunal list of the island.

The Entomobryidae comprising one new record from Korea, six new species (4 Entomobrya, 2 Homidia) and a cave form of Sinella genus have been studied. One of the Entomobrya comes from cone pines, hence considered an arboreal species. The present study brings Korean faunal list of Entomobryidae to 23 species in 3 genera, of which 16 are endemic to the country.

Before the construction of Hantangang dam, we surveyed vertebrate fauna along the Hantangang River and collected samples. We collected 248 specimens (1,394 individuals) of 41 fish species from 10 families in four orders, including 17 endemic species and 5 endangered species. In our herpetofauna survey, we collected 47 amphibian samples of 10 species from 5 families in 2 orders, and 19 reptile samples of 5 species from 2 families in 1 order. We observed 25 species of bird (6 orders, 14 families) inclulding collection of 51 bird specimens (10 species from 5 families in 1 order). We collected 91 mammals of 6 species, and identified 7 species from field sign and direct observation from a total of 10 families in 5 orders. This collection and list comprise the final vertebrate faunal survey of the Hantangang region, and will provide basic scientific information for future research on conservation and restoration of the region.

Testate amoebae are easily recognized as their characteristic shells from other protistan groups. They in which more than 1,900 species have been recorded are mixture of heterogeneous groups mainly composed of Amoebozoa and Cercozoa. In Korea, 74 species of testate amoebae have been recorded since late 1980s. Here I report a list of 12 unrecorded species of testate amoebae from Korea which were discovered during 2016-2018: Arcella crenulata Deflandre, 1928; Centropyxis cassis(Wallich, 1864); C. delicatula Penard, 1902; C. hirsuta Deflander, 1929; C. orbicularis Deflandre, 1929; C. sylvatica (Deflandre, 1929); Cyclopyxis eurystoma Deflandre, 1929; C. intermedia Kufferath, 1932; C. kahli(Deflandre, 1929); Difflugia diafana Vucetich, 1987; D. manicata Penard, 1902; Awerintzewia cyclostoma Schoutenden, 1906. As a result the fauna of testate amoebae in Korea is composed of 86 species. There are still much more species remained to be discovered in Korea. The faunal studies on testate amoebae will provide us valuable information about freshwater and soil environments.

The species of the genus Athalia Leach from South Korea are reviewed. Six species are listed, one of which is a new record from South Korea (Athalia tanaoserrula Chu and Wang). In South Korean Athalia, we were not able to find any specimens of A. kashmirensis Benson, while many specimens identified as such were a misidentifications of A. tanaoserrula. Therefore, we think that A. kashmirensis should be excluded from the faunal list of South Korea. A key to the species of South Korean Athalia, diagnosis, photographs of the diagnostic characters, distribution and recorded hosts for each species are also provided.

A faunal study on Amphipods belonging to the class Malacostraca was conducted 26-29 August 2021 at 12 sites in Chujado Island, Korea. This study found that 68 amphipod species in 39 genera, 19 families were living on Chujado Island. Among these 19 families, the family Caprellidae (20 species) showed the highest abundance. Ampithoidae (7 species) and Dexaminidae (6 species) were subdominant families. The species Stenothoe valida Dana, 1852 (found at 10 of 12 sites) was the most frequent and widespread species. Caprella scaura Templeton, 1836 was identified at 9 of 12 sites and had the highest frequency of appearance among 20 species of Caprellidae. Among the 68 species, Ampithoe waialua J.L. Barnard, 1970 and Melita nagatai Yamato, 1987 are newly recorded species in Korean fauna. These newly recorded species are fully illustrated and compared with related species. We provide an amphipod fauna in Chujado Island with a list, figures, and a table.

A total of 101 species belonging to 76 genera under 42 families in Kwangreung coniferous forest (45th compartment) and 108 species belonging to 69 genera under 40 families in Kwangreung deciduous forest (44th compartment) was reported, respectively.

A faunal study on the marine amphipods at eight sites of the continental shelf region in the Southern Sea, Korea was conducted from 16-17 August 2022. In this study, 26 amphipod species in 19 genera and 14 families were found. Among these 14 families, the family Ampeliscidae with six species showed the highest abundance, followed by the family Caprellidae with five species. Amphipods were collected using conical nets, MOCNESS nets, SM grabs, and trawls. When using the SM Grab for collecting benthic sediment, 15 out of a total of 26 amphipod species were surveyed, indicating the highest diversity of amphipod species. Out of the total 26 species, four identified species (Ampelisca pygmaea Schellenberg, 1938; Byblis longiflagelis Ren, 1998; Caprella iniquilibra Mayer, 1903; Primno latreillei Stebbing, 1888) and five unidentified species(Themisto sp., Liljeborgia sp., Dulichiella sp., Cranocephalus sp., Primno sp.) are newly recorded in Korean fauna. These newly recorded species are fully illustrated and compared with related species. We provide a list amphipod fauna in Southern Sea of Korea including figures and tables.
