Output Control of Wind Farm Side Converter from DC Link for DC Voltage Stabilization with HVDC (해상풍력 연계용 HVDC의 DC전압 안정화를 위한 DC Link의 발전기측 컨버터 제어 전략)

  • This paper presents DC voltage recovery time improvement method in DC link of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) with offshore wind farm. The wind farm should be satisfied Low Voltage Ride Through(LVRT) control strategy when grid faults occur. The LVRT control strategy indicates actions which have to be executed according to the voltage dip ratio and the fault duration. However, The LVRT control strategy makes between wind farm and power system through DC Link voltage when grid fault occurs. The de-loading scheme is one of the method to control the DC voltage. But de-loading scheme need to long DC voltage recovery time. Thus, this paper proposes an improved de-loading scheme and we analysis DC voltage and active power reference through a simulation.

  • The second harmonic component could be decreased by magnetizing inrush when there have been changes to the material of the iron core or its design methodology. The higher the capacitance of the high voltage status and underground distribution, the more the differential current includes the second harmonic during the occurrence of an internal fault. Therefore, the conventional second harmonic-restrained RDR needs modification. This paper describes an advanced numerical algorithm that utilizes terminal voltage, differential current harmonics, harmonic ratio, and flux-differential current slope. Based on the results of testing with WatATP99 simulation data, the proposed algorithm was proven to be faster and more reliable.

  • The digital current differential relaying scheme is widely used for primary protection of 765(kV) power transformer. The current differential relay pickup the internal fault at the threshold which is set at 30% of rating current. Margin of 30% include current transformer error 5%, relay error 5%, on load tap changer error 7% and margin factor 140% obtained from the field experience. In this paper transformer protection relay and relay setting rule of high voltage power system are discussed. And we verify the correctness of relay setting rule with current differential relay using Matlab simulation.

  • Percentage differential characteristic relaying(PDR) has been recognized as the principal basis for power transformer protection. Second harmonic restraint PDR has been widely used for magnetizing inrush in practice. Nowadays, relaying signals can contain 2nd harmonic component to a large extent even in a normal state, and 2nd harmonic ratio indicates a tendency of relative reduction because of the advancement of material. Further, as the power system voltage becomes higher and more underground cables are used, larger 2nd harmonic component in the differential current under internal fault is observed. And then, conventional 2nd harmonic restraint PDR exposes some doubt in reliability. It is, therefore, necessary to develop a new algorithm for performance improvement of conventional protective relaying. This paper proposes an advanced protective relaying algorithm by using voltage-current trend and flux-differential current slope characteristic. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we have made comparative studies of PDR, fuzzy relaying and DWT relaying. The paper is constructed power system model including power transformer, utilizing the WatATP, and data collection is made through simulation of various internal faults and inrush. As the results of test, the new proposed algorithm was proven to be faster and more reliable.

Characteristics of HTS tube fabricated by centrifugal forming process (원심성형법으로 제조한 고온초전도 튜브의 특성 분석)

  • Bi-2212 HTS tube was fabricated by CFP(Centrifugal Forming Process). Slury was prepared in the mixing ratio of 8:2 between powder and binder and ball-milled for 24 hrs. Slurry was initially charged into the rotating mold with 300${\sim}$450 rpm and heated at the temperature ranges of 840${\sim}$860$^{\circ}$C for partial melting to finally obtain a uniformly textured tube shape. It was observed the plate-like grains with more than 20 ${\mu}$m were well oriented along the rotating axis and the measured T$_c$ was around 67K. In this paper we will discuss and analyze the tube characteristics depending on many different processing parameters such as, powder composition, binder mixing ratio between powder and binder, motor speed, heating temperature and etc.

  • As the TC(time-current) curve corresponding to symmetrical time invariant RMS value has been traditionally chosen and used for setting the relay, it has caused the misoperation errors on relay coordination because of CT secondary current being actually an asymmetrical time varying RMS value. In this paper, an algorithm for calculating the relay operating time is developed to study the asymmetrical effect using the step-by-step method. We represent the relay operating time errors between with and without DC offset versus PSM(plug setting multiplier), TMS(time multiplier setting) and X/R ratio. And also we present the correction factor. Finally we confirm the validity of this technique through the case study.

To make a uniform specimen slurry was prepared in the ratio of 7:3(powder : binder) and ball milled for 24 hours. Milled slurry was charged into a rotating mold with 450 rpm and dried at room temperature. Then the specimen was performed binder burn-out at 35$0^{\circ}C$ and heated for partial melting to 86$0^{\circ}C$. XRD analysis of most specimens were shown 2212 phase and observed a local plate shped microstructure with a well aligned c-axis direction from SEM images. Measured T$_{c}$(Critical temperature) was about 64 K.K.

  • 본 논문에서는 방전갭을 이용한 시스 순환 전류 저감장치 보호유닛을 제안하여 SVL형식의 저감장치 보호유닛과 뇌써지시 과도특성을 비교하였으며, 또한 시스 순환전류 저감장치 보호유닛 적용시의 고장전류분류율을 검토한 결과 모든 경우에 대하여 각 접지선의 고장전류분류율이 현행의 기준을 만족함으로써 시스 순환전류 저감장치 보호유닛을 적용한 저감장치의 현장적용 가능성을 제시하였다.

  • The flux-lock type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has the attractive characteristics that can adjust the current limiting level by the turns ratio and the winding direction of two coils. To apply this type SFCL into power system, the analysis for the recovery characteristics of it together with the current limiting characteristic is needed. In this paper, the experiments of the current limiting and the recovery characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL with YBCO thin film were performed. The recovery characteristics of the flux-lock type SFCL dependent on the winding direction of two coils were analyzed through the comparison with the resistive type SFCL.
