The influence of chemical structure of Benzopurpurine 4B and Congo Red on the color fastness properties of cotton fabric have been studied at $90^{\circ}C$. Each dyeing carried with $10\times10^{-6}M$ of dye concentration and 0.1 M of NaCl. The results obtained from this study were as follow; 1. The properties of fastness to washing by Benzopurpurine 4B were superior to those of Congo Red. 2. The properties of fastness to light by Congo Red were superior to those of Benzopurpurine 4B. 3. The color variation appeared more vividly in the case of Benzopurpurine 4B than Congo Red and the color shifted to Red Purple after washing test but to Yellow Red after Fade-O-meter test.
In this study, the dyeing properties of Phellodendron amurense on cotton and silk fabrics were evaluated to establish a scientific database of dyeing methods using natural dyes with the ultimate aim of facilitating the practical use of these dyes. The optimal thickener and dyeing concentrations depending on the thickener type were identified when dyeing with P. amurense, and the fabric color, color fastness, and antibiosis were examined for various thickeners, fabrics, and mordants. The results were as follows.: The optimal concentrations of thickeners when dyeing on cotton and silk fabrics were CMC 3% (w/w), Mayprogum 7% (w/w), and Indalka 9% (w/w). The optimal concentration of P. amurense was 25% (w/w), irrespective of the type of thickener. To maintain the hue unique to P. amurense, thickening with Mayprogum or Indalka and mordanting with Al was effective for cotton, while thickening with Mayprogum or Indalka and mordanting with Al or thickening with CMC and mordanting with gallnut was effective for silk. The dry-cleaning fastness and abrasion resistance of cotton fabrics dyed with P. amurense were excellent at the 4-5 level. Gallnut was effective for washing fastness and perspiration fastness against color degradation, and FFC was effective for light fastness. The washing fastness, dry-cleaning fastness, abrasion resistance, and perspiration fastness of silk fabrics dyed with P. amurense were excellent at level 4, except for washing and perspiration fastness, and FFC was effective for the improvement of light fastness. Dyeing cotton and silk fabrics with P. amurense thus yielded antibiosis and excellent washing fastness.
For the purpose of standardization and practicability of natural dyeing, the mordanting and dyeing properties of Puerariae Radix was studied. Appropriate extraction, dyeing and mordanting condition of Puerariae Radix were determined, and the effect of mordanting method on dye uptake and color fastness of dyed fabric was investigated. The maximum absorbance of Puerariae Radix solution was at 290nm and 301nm. The pH effect was stable in the color difference changes. The optimum temperature to extract Puerariae Radix was during 1 hour in loot. The effective dyeing temperature and time of silk were 80$\~$ 100$^{circ}C$, 1hour. The silk fabrics dyed with Puerariae Radix appeared yellow-brown. US value of dyeing fabrics was increased by Fe, and Cu mordant treatment. Mordanting treatment method affected color change of the dyed silk. In the case of Puerariae Radix light fastness of appeared more than 2-5 grades by mordant treatment. Perspiration fastness of appered more than 4 grades by Al, Sn, Cr mordant treatment. Fastness of abrasion and dry-cleaning appered more than 4-5 grades. These fastness improvement were generally effective for mordant treatment, specially Al, Sn, Cr.

For the purpose of standardization and practicability of dyeing by natural dye, the mordanting and dyeing properties of Lithodpermum officinale were studied. Appropriate extraction, dveing and mordanting conditions of Lithodpermum officinale were determined, and the effect of mordanting no dye uptake and color fastness of dyed fabric was investigated. The maximum absorbances of Lithopermum officinale solution were at 521 and 561 mn, shikonin solution were 517 and 556 mn. According to the UV-VIS spectroscopy of shikonin solution showed batho chromic shift with the increase of temperature and the absorbance of shikonin solution increased with the increase of temperature. The color of Lithodpermum officinale solution was affected by pH 8∼9, they became dark, reduced reddish and bluish. The optimum conditions for extraction from Lithodpermum officinale were at 80$\^{C}$ and for 1 hour and at 25$\^{C}$ for 24 hours. And effective dyeing conditions with silk fabric were temperature at 80∼100$\^{C}$ and period for 60min. K/S value and color fastness of dyed fabrics were increased by mordanting treatment. In the case of Lithodpermum officinale light fastness was better than Sophora japonica, Gaesalpinia Sappan, Rhusjara,. Cochineal dyeing fabrics. Perspiration fastness of Lithodpermum officinale were good. Fastness of abrasion and dry-cleaning were good these fastness improvement were generatlly effected by post-mordanting treatment.
Cationic dyeable polyester(CDP) was produced through melt blending of cationic chips having $2mol\%$ of sodium salt of dimethyl ester of 5-sulfoisophthalic acid(DMS salt) and normal polyester chips in different proportions to obtain yarns having varying amount of comonomer in the fiber. The modified polyesters showed increased moisture regain, decreased viscosity, lower softening point and improved antistatic characteristics, according to the amount of modifier. In dyeing at $100^{\circ}C$ the dyeing rate of cationic dyes with CDP fiber increased slowly than that of disperse dyes. In dyeing at $120^{\circ}C$ cationic dyes reached to equilibrium at 30min and disperse dyes at 10min. Cationic dyes in dyeing of CDP fabric have a better wash fastness compared with disperse dyes, also rubbing fastness of cationic dyes is better than that of disperse dyes. The light fastness of CDP fabric for cationic and disperse dyes is not good. The fastness of 75d/36f CDP fabric is higher than 75d/72f fabric. Solvent wicking fastness of CDP with cationic dyes is better than that of disperse dyes.
Functional properties are available with sputtering. But sputtering treatment alone cannot got a good fastness performance to washing, rubbing and light. This research was objected to investigate optimum condition by sputtering on polyester through various processing conditions such as ion current and treatment time, and then various resin treated onto metal coated polyester fabrics in order to increase washing fastness of metal membrane. As the results, the optimum conditions revealed 1500 mA of ion current, 2 min of treatment time in sputter, and suitable resin concentrations were 2% of o.w.s (on the weight of solution) in resin treatment. Therefore, we could get enhanced anti-static effect and flex stiffness as well as washing fastness in sputtered polyester fabric with various resin treatment, for example, melamine and polyurethane.
This study investigated the proper dyeing conditions, fastness and functionality of cotton fabrics dyed with Perilla frutescens var. acuta extract. Repeat dyeing, combination dyeing of persimmon juice and fermentation dyeing were conducted as dyeing conditions. It was confirmed that the ΔE and the K/S value of cotton fabrics dyed with Perilla frutescens var. acuta extracts depending on repeat dyeing and combination dyeing slightly increased. Furthermore, the fastness to washing of persimmon combination dyeing and fermentation dyeing was very good. The fastness to rubbing was shown to be above grade 4 in all methods, and the fastness to light was not as good as grade 3 or lower. The persimmon juice dyeing, Perilla frutescens var. acuta extract repeat dyeing 4 times and combination fermentation dyeing showed very good antimicrobial abilities. Thereafter, additional studies are needed to improve the fastness to light and alternatives to further improve the dyeing properties.
Dyeing and washing fastness properties of polyurethane-impregnated polyester (PU-impregnated PET), and the distribution of two disperse dyes between PET and PU film were studied to investigate the effect of PU portion to exhaustion and washing fastness. Dyeing properties of PU-impregnated PET were quite different with those of PET: PU-impregnated PET absorbed disperse dye linearly from the early stage of dyeing to equilibrium, and it exhibited excellent build-up property up to 4 %owf dyeing. The absorbed dye on PU film at early dyeing stage migrated to more substantive PET at the temperature higher than $115^{\circ}C$. The amount of exhausted dye on PET portion was larger than on PU film and the distribution ratio was $2.08{\sim}2.34$. The grade of washing fastness of PU-impregnated PET was the same as or lower by $0.5{\sim}1$ grade than PU film whose washing fastness was lower by $0.5{\sim}1$ than PET.

Dyeing and fastness properties of direct spun type PET microfiber fabrics have been investigated. The dye uptake of finer microfibers commenced at lower temperatures and showed faster rate of dye uptake. The build-up and wet fastness properties of disperse dyes on finer microfbers were relatively poor since the more dye was needed to achieve a given depth of shade due to the large surface area.
The Purpose of this studs was to investigate dyeing properties of silk and nylon fabrics by Polygonum cuspidatum extract. The properties were evaluated by it's extracting condition, dyeing condition, mordants variables, methods of mordanting and color fastness. Silk fabric showed the highest K/S value at $50-70^\circ{C}$, while Nylon fabric showed at $90^\circ{C}$. Surface color of dyed fabrics were various by the used mordants ; none-, and Al-mordanted fabrics were yellow, Cu-mordanted fabrics were redish yellow, Fe-mordanted fabrics were olive green. Fe-mordanted silk fabrics showed excellent laundering fastness and light fastness. Both silk and nylon fabric showed excellent laundering and dry cleaning fastness.
