In this paper, a new web-based remote 3D imaging communication system employing an adaptive matching algorithm is suggested. In the proposed method, feature values are extracted from the stereo image pair through estimation of the disparity and similarities between each pixel of the stereo image. And then, the matching window size for disparity estimation is adaptively selected depending on the magnitude of this feature value. Finally, the detected disparity map and the left image is transmitted into the client region through the network channel. And then, in the client region, right image is reconstructed and intermediate views be synthesized by a linear combination of the left and right images using interpolation in real-time. From some experiments on web based-transmission in real-time and synthesis of the intermediate views by using two kinds of stereo images of 'Joo' & 'Hoon' captured by real camera, it is analyzed that PSNRs of the intermediate views reconstructed by using the proposed transmission scheme are highly measured by 30dB for 'Joo', 27dB for 'Hoon' and the delay time required to obtain the intermediate image of 4 view is also kept to be very fast value of 67.2ms on average, respectively.
In this paper, we propose a novel intelligent headlight control (IHC) system which is durable to various road lights and camera movement caused by vehicle driving. For detecting candidate light blobs, the region of interest (ROI) is decided as front ROI (FROI) and back ROI (BROI) by considering the camera geometry based on perspective range estimation model. Then, light blobs such as headlights, taillights of vehicles, reflection light as well as the surrounding road lighting are segmented using two different adaptive thresholding. From the number of segmented blobs, taillights are first detected using the redness checking and random forest classifier based on Haar-like feature. For the headlight and taillight classification, we use the random forest instead of popular support vector machine or convolutional neural networks for supporting fast learning and testing in real-life applications. Pairing is performed by using the predefined geometric rules, such as vertical coordinate similarity and association check between blobs. The proposed algorithm was successfully applied to various driving sequences in night-time, and the results show that the performance of the proposed algorithms is better than that of recent related works.
Multimedia applications are much more sensitive to QoS(Quality of Service) than text based ones due to their data continuity. In order to provide a fast moving MH(Mobil Host) using multimedia application with a consistent QoS,an efficient call admission mechanism is in need. This paper proposes the 2SCA(2-Step Call Admission) scheme based on cal admission scheme using pripority to guarantee the consistent QoS for mobile multimedia applications. A calls of MH are classified new calls, hand-off calls, and QoS upgrading calls. The 2SCA is composed of the basic call admission and advanced call admission; the former determines the call admission based on bandwidth available in each cell and the latter determines the call admission by applying DTT(Delay Tolerance Time), PQeueu(Priority Queue), and UpQueue(Upgrade Queue) algorithm according to the type of each call blocked at the basic call admission stage. In order to evaluate the performance of our mechanism, we measure the metrics such as the dropping probability of new calls, dropping probability of hand-off calls, and bandwidth utilization. The result shows that the performance of our mechanism is superior to that of existing mechanisms such as CSP(Complete Sharing Policy), GCP(Guard Channel Policy) and AGCP(Adaptive Guard Channel Policy).
In this paper, the efficient equalization method for OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiflexing) System using the QAM(Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) in multipath fading channel is proposed in order to faster and more efficiently equalize the received signals that are sent over real channel. In generally, the one-tap linear equalizers have been used in the frequency-domain as the existing equalization method for OFDM system. In this technique, if characteristics of the channel are changed fast, the one-tap linear equalizers cannot compensate for the distortion due to time variant multipath channels. Therefore, in this paper, we use one-tap non-linear equalizers instead of using one-tap linear equalizers in the frequency-domain, and also use the linear equalizer in the time-domain to compensate the rapid performance reduction at the low SNR(Signal-to-Noise Ratio) that is the disadvantage of the non-linear equalizer. In the frequency-domain, when QAM signals, consisting of in-phase components and quadrature (out-phase) components, are sent over the complex channel, the only in-phase and quadrature components of signals distorted by the multipath fading are changed the same as signals distorted by the noise. So the cross components are canceled in the frequency-domain equalizer. The time-domain equalizer and the adaptive algorithm that has lower-error probability and fast convergence speed are applied to compensate for the error that is caused by canceling the cross components in the frequency-domain equalizer. In the time-domain, To compensate for the performance of frequency-domain equalizer the time-domain equalizes the distorted signals at a frame by using the Gold-code as a training sequence in the receiver after the Gold-codes are inserted into the guard signal in the transmitter. By using the proposed equalization method, we can achieve faster and more efficient equalization method that has the reduced computational complexity and improved performance.
Recently there have been many efforts to support searching and browsing based on the visual content of image and multimedia data. Most existing approaches to content-based image retrieval rely on query by example or user based low-level features such as color, shape, texture. But these methods of query are not easy to use and restrict. In this paper we propose a method for automatic color object extraction and labelling to support multiple queries of content-based image retrieval system. These approaches simplify the regions within images using single colorizing algorithm and extract color object using proposed Color and Spatial based Binary tree map(CSB tree map). And by searching over a large of number of processed regions, a index for the database is created by using proposed labelling method. This allows very fast indexing of the image by color contents of the images and spatial attributes. Futhermore, information about the labelled regions, such as the color set, size, and location, enables variable multiple queries that combine both color content and spatial relationships of regions. We proved our proposed system to be high performance through experiment comparable with another algorithm using 'Washington' image database.
Finger printing and sequence alignment are well-known approaches for document similarity comparison. A fingerprinting method is simple and fast, but it can not find particular similar regions. A string alignment method is used for identifying regions of similarity by arranging the sequences of a string. It has an advantage of finding particular similar regions, but it also has a disadvantage of taking more computing time. The Multi-Level Alignment (MLA) is a new method designed for taking the advantages of both methods. The MLA divides input documents into uniform length blocks, and then extracts fingerprints from each block and calculates similarity of block pairs by comparing the fingerprints. A similarity table is created in this process. Finally, sequence alignment is used for specifying longest similar regions in the similarity table. The MLA allows users to change block's size to control proportion of the fingerprint algorithm and the sequence alignment. As a document is divided into several blocks, similar regions are also fragmented into two or more blocks. To solve this fragmentation problem, we proposed a united block method. Experimentally, we show that computing document's similarity with the united block is more accurate than the original MLA method, with minor time loss.
In the OFDM system, IQ imbalance problem happens at the RF front-end of transceiver, which degrades the BER(bit error rate) performance because it affects the constellation in the received signal. Also, phase noise is generated in the local oscillator of transceivers and it destroys the orthogonality between the subcarriers. Conventional PNS algorithm is effective for phase noise suppression, but it is not useful anymore when there are jointly IQ(In-phase and Quadrature) imbalance and phase noise. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the effect of IQ imbalance and phase noise generated in the down-conversion of the receiver. Then, we estimate and compensate the IQ imbalance and phase noise at the same time. Compared with the conventional method that IQ imbalance after IFFT is estimated and compensated in front of FFT via the feedback, this proposed method extracts and compensates effect of IQ imbalance after FFT stage. In case IQ imbalance and phase noise exist at the same time, we can decrease complexity because it is needless to use elimination of IQ imbalance in time domain and training sequences and preambles. Also, this method shows that it reduces the ICI and CPE component using adaptive forgetting factor of MMSE after FFT.
In this paper, we propose a user friendly object-based image retrieval system using the interaction between cortex and hippocampus. Most existing ways of queries in content-based image retrieval rely on query by example or query by sketch. But these methods of queries are not adequate to needs of people's various queries because they are not easy for people to use and restrict. We propose a method of automatic color object extraction using CSB tree map(Color and Spatial based Binary をn map). Extracted objects were transformed to bit stream representing information such as color, size and location by region labelling algorithm and they are learned by the hippocampal neural network using the interplay between cortex and hippocampus. The cells of exciting at peculiar features in brain generate the special sign when people recognize some patterns. The existing neural networks treat each attribute of features evenly. Proposed hippocampal neural network makes an adaptive fast content-based image retrieval system using excitatory learning method that forwards important features to long-term memories and inhibitory teaming method that forwards unimportant features to short-term memories controlled by impression.
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times.
