  • In today's college curriculum, fashion illustration courses are regarded as fundamental sources of knowledge in the fashion industry and the fine arts. The purpose of this study was to critically examine current curricula and educational objectives of fashion illustration courses offered by domestic fashion-related universities and academic institutions, in order to help the development of more effective tertiary level fashion education. Based on the results of data analysis, we suggest the following recommendations: Firstly, university courses should focus on drawing-centered fundamental education. Secondly, design education linked to fashion illustration should be strengthened. Thirdly, creativity-boosting design education is necessary. The range of curricula that could foster creativity and problem-solving skills in professionals should be enlarged, and future education should place emphasis on lateral and creative thinking. The result of this study are expected to contribute to the development of better curriculum in fashion-related education.

  • In order to develop a new fashion business curriculum, this study attempts to evaluate fashion business curriculum in both domestic and foreign schools and to analyze their existing training programs. The results of this study shows that the analysis of domestic fashion business curriculum shows that 'in the field' knowledge is in need for the new fashion education program where students can be more exposed to the industry environments especially in the area of markets, sales, distribution and management. Also, the analysis of fashion marketing curriculum of F.I.T and PARSONS school of design demonstrates their emphasis on practical as well as academic programs in marketing, distribution and merchandising. In addition, the research on sales person training program reflects that future sales persons will need stronger knowledge in customer analysis, product display and shop management. Based on these findings, this investigation proposes a revised second year fashion business undergraduate program. The academic program in this updated module will place heavier emphasis on such fields as marketing, distribution, product planning and sales management. Also recommended is that the second year students will be exposed to real-world experience by participating in various internships and workshops offered by major companies in the fashion field.

  • Recently, the field of university PR(public relations) and UI(university identity) come to be emphasized as a remarkable one because the applicants to the universities are consistently reduced in Korea. The purpose of this thesis is to present a souvenir for university PR which is designed in a clothing commodity, easily accessible to visitors, helping students and university officials to keep a pride to our university. We have designed four kinds of clothing, ie T-shirts, polo-shirts, trousers, and hats, after scrutinizing those of other universities. By making change the length of sleeves and slacks, the four kinds were transformed into eight kinds of clothing commodities. The basic trend of this design is on the trompe l'oeil, with the colors being white, grey and black ones, which are of 100% cotton.

In case of red color, Korea female students don't select a red color as a preference color but even if some students select a red color, China and Hong Kong females prefer a red color. The traditional color opinions of Korea, China and Hong Kong are the same as a Yin-Yang School. • In the era of globalization and unlimited competition, Korean universities need a breakthrough in their education system according to the changing education landscape, such as lower graduation requirements to cultivate more multi-talented convergence leaders. While each student has different learning capabilities, which results in different performance and achievements in the same class, the uniform education that most universities are currently offering fails to accommodate such differences. Blended learning, synergically combining offline and online classes, enlarges learning space and enriches learning experiences through diversified tools and materials, including multimedia. Recently, universities are increasingly adopting video contents and on-offline convergence learning strategy. Thus, this study suggests a teaching method based on blended learning to more effectively teach existing pattern CAD and virtual CAD in the Apparel Pattern CAD class. To this end, this researcher developed a teaching-learning method and curriculum according to the blended learning phase and video-based contents. The curriculum consisted of 2D CAD (SuperAlpha: Plus) and 3D CAD (CLO) software learning for 15 weeks. Then, it was loaded to the Learning Management System (LMS) and operated for 15 weeks both online and offline. The performance analysis of LMS usage found that class materials, among online postings, were viewed the most. The discussion menu most accurately depicted students' participation, and students who did not participate in discussions were estimated to check postings less than participating students. A survey on the blended learning found that students prefer digital or more digitized classes, while preferring face to face for Q&As.
