This study focuses on the application of collage techniques to contemporary fashion and intends to show that collage techniques have a significant influence on contemporary fashion, leading to a more creative design aesthetic through the combination of fashion and art. The author carried out an empirical analysis focusing on domestic and global fashion collections from 2000S/S to 2010F/W, fashion publications, and internet data, along with a literature review. As a result, the papier-colle approach, as represented by cubism, showed a creative surface effect through the texture of the paper itself by applying real paper and other materials directly to the clothing items. Second, Dadaist ready-made expressed a distortion of the material and freedom of expression by creating a collage with ready-made fashion items and daily necessities. Third, a photomontage expressed unique images by printing various images of photos that contrasted in perspective. In addition to this, beauty in dissonance and a new sense of space by a collage of disparate material. Fourth, decalcomanie was expressed by printing methods, giving a stable image of the symmetry of the perfect landscape as well as the unintended effect of coincidence in abstract images and particular textures. Fifth, assemblage as the representative collage technique of pop art introduced the overall object itself or modified form by combining it with fashion to express three-dimensional aggregate structures.
At the outset, surrealism starts from pure art, but surrealism has greatly influenced commercial art and fashion circles, more so than any other genre of art. The critical thinking methods of surrealism and its mode of expression continues to influence fashion theory extensively. Even now, surrealism may be found in the designs presented in fashion circles and is still expected for future lines. Surrealism in modern fashion has been reborn, newly integrated and transformed, based on the features of Surrealism paintings. The characteristics of its forms can be found in a combination of modern material, modern design and new skills and the classical items : bodyform molding context of architecture, experimental and sex-appealing of body. Expression was made by borrowing natural motives and recreating natural fabrics while the existing typical idea about clothes was destructed, with the boundary of patterns changed. Expression was also made by mixing items, uniting future images, and using up-to-date functional techniques. This study is significant that up-to-date technological culture expands cyber-space and increases surrealistic expressions by combined heterogeneous materials, thus arousing much interest. The purpose of this study is to determine interrelationship between how surrealism developed and what formative properties those clothes affected by surrealism obtained in the 1990s.
The purpose of this study is to analyze women's street fashion in Shenyang and to understand the regional design preference. The city, Shenyang is not only known as the one of three major northeastern province in China, but also known as the city where large numbers of Korean fashion companies have launched in. The observation focused mainly on young/young adults and missy in Oe Market and ZungJie(中街) which are the most busy streets in Shenyang. A digital camera or a camcorder were used to take photos of these women. In addition, video captures or photos were analyzed by three fashion experts. Finally, the photos were classified by item and data was coded for statistics and reviewed through frequency and percentage. As a result, it was found that most young women in Shenyang liked to wear a casual style such as easy t-shirt, denim pants or skirt and a feminine style such as a one-piece dress in summer. Top items that were favoured by young women in Shenyang were t-shirts and blouse types, while they favoured to wear denim pants of indigo blue for bottom items. Frequently found colors among these womens' clothing were white, black, vivid blue, red and red purple. I strongly believe this study will provide basic but significant information for the establishment of design and marketing strategies to the Korean fashion brands, who is trying to access Chinese fashion market.
This study attempted to understand current status of overseas virtual fashion brands and analyze attributes of common digital fashion brands. Based on brand analysis criteria of previous studies, digital fashion brands were analyzed for brand concept, price range, characteristic elements, and attributes. Digital fashion design elements of items, colors, materials, patterns, and effects were analyzed by collecting images of brands' digital fashion design products. Digital fashion brands could be divided into experimental and creative digital fashion brands and digital fashion brands aiming for popular brands. This study introduces a creative fashion collection that experiments sustainability and future value. It shares a new way of self-expression and a playful culture centered on the younger generation. In terms of fashion design elements, fashion items were similar to the existing fashion category, but included other accessories that reflected the lifestyle of Generation Z. Silhouette expressed a minimalistic futuristic image centered on straight silhouettes. Color showed a bold and modern color image through black and color contrast. Unique patterns reflecting the concept of the brand appeared, centering on abstract and geometric patterns. Regarding materials and effects, new elements differentiated from existing fashion design area, showing meaningful characteristics. Digital materials are developed and proposed for sustainability. Materials (such as metal, glass, plastic) and effects (such as weightlessness, flames) expand impossible senses in reality and enable new fashion experiences. This is a case study of digital fashion brands. It is meaningful in that it identifies characteristics and discusses their values and meanings.
In the middle of economic and mental riches in the 21st century, the importance of well being and the pursuit of happiness are emerging as the new trend. Thus the lifestyle that values comfortable and practical naturalness and intrinsic merits has come to influence the human life rather than the old showing-off and formal desire. In addition to this, the spread of the five day week has given more leisure time, which has led to the increasing interest in health and leisure. The interest in sports has skyrocketed since the successful holding of the 2002 Korea and Japan World Cup event. All these changes to the lifestyle have contributed to the fusion of luxury wear and sports wear. As the result of the consumers in the 21st century having more classified and upgraded way of living thanks to the settlement of the above-mentioned lifestyle and the enlargement of the leisure sports culture, there has appeared the wellness kin, who value the importance of life and the nature and believe in the idea that they can reconstruct the environment in the way they can enjoy their lifestyle and pursue happiness. They favor healthy fashion items and think much of exercise, nutrition, and rest. They pursue the natural and comfortable style, whose ideas came from simple exercises such as health training and yoga and the easy and comfortable look observed at resorts. Their fashion style can be divided into three of fitness fashion, yoga fashion and resort fashion. First, the boxer fashion is characterized by the relaxing design and practicality. The major items of the fashion include running shirt-styled upper clothes, training pants, hooded shirts and sneakers. Simple and comfortable look should be induced from the combination of the items. Second, the yoga fashion was motivated by the comfortable yoga wear. It advocates stress-free spirit and comfortable and stable naturalism. Along with the advantages of the good feeling to wear and the functionality to help exercise better, the yoga fashion gives the wearer enough room to move around in, using the unique lines. Third, the resort wear refers to the kinds of clothes you tend to wear at the beach and the park. There are various kinds of the resort look; bathing suits, the beach wear you can wear with the bathing suit, the resort evening wear, the full-side look that you try on top of the bathing suit and is made of the same material of the bathing suit, and the marine look, the symbol of the summer. In short, the study attempted to investigate many trends occurring as the result of human recent increasing interest and concern in the quality of life, and the impacts of them on the fashion world. This kind of research that examines the background of the times and society will help to grasp with the fashion trends of the present and the future. And more studies should be conducted on the development of new and original design in clothes fashion, which reflects the characteristics identified in this kind of research.
With the recognition of YouTube as an information search tool, YouTube creators have subsequently become sources of information to consumers. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the consumers' response of famous fashion YouTubers in Korea, and to identify differences in consumer response based on the gender and generation of YouTubers. During the period from the opening of fashion creators' YouTube channels, we collected postings on blogs and Internet cafes using textom. As a result of preliminary investigation, six fashion YouTubers were selected. First, all the selected fashion YouTubers were well recognized by consumers as fashion informants. However, Milanonna has been shown to act as a life advisor and as an informant for luxury brands at the same time. Second, female fashion YouTubers were perceived with themes related to daily life, beauty, emotions, and mood rather than fashion itself; whereas, male fashion YouTubers appeared to be more interested in fashion accessories, especially with respect to the basic style. Third, Generation Z fashion YouTubers used the most non-fashion keywords, and their Millennial counterparts used keywords related to fashion items and product purchase properties. However, consumer response to OPAL fashion YouTubers have emerged with items such as life experiences, wisdom, and advice. Moreover, OPAL fashion YouTubers showed a variety of consumer assessments and the YouTuber's personal background. This study's analysis of the differences in the consumer response to fashion YouTubers based on gender and age enables the establishment of an appropriate strategy to attract target consumers and identify their appeal points.

This study classifies types of fashion victims and identifies an internal value system that works for their fashion selection. This study reviewed the definition of 'fashion victim' by tracing similar terms such as fashion terrorist, fashion loser, and worst dresser. We classified fashion styles of fashion victims into four types based on an analysis of articles that pertained to Korean celebrities' fashion and image data. The first type is the fashion style of those who dress without any consideration of body shape. The second type is the style for those who have little consideration in regards to personal image. The third type is the style of those who choose a fashion with excessive decoration. The fourth type is the style for those who use too many fashion items at the same time. Based on a consistent analysis of fashion styles, this study identified the internal value system believed to be working in fashion victims' fashion selection. This study presents three internal value system characteristics. The first is the fetishism that is revealed when fashion victims wear expensive clothes or fashion items that are believed to reveal their personal identity and social status. The second is the blindness which becomes apparent when they follow a fashion in vogue indiscriminately without considering a personal image or body shape. The third is an excessiveness shown when individuals select clothes with too many beads or feathers that are decorative and rich in volume.

Unlike a still body in a photograph, the concept of time applies to a moving body wearing clothes. Clothes change shape according to movement, and multidimensional formative observation elements are required to perceive this. Thus, the purpose of this research is to develop a system for observing body movements and clothing. This experimental study was designed based on embodiment research. The first stage of the study derived body movement and clothing observation items from theory. In the second stage, 11 fashion personnel participated in experimental research to verify the observation items and identify those that needed correction or supplementation. The results showed that body movement and clothing observation items can be classified as follows: large moving bodies, moving clothes, body and clothes movement, and body and clothes space. The observation system for body movement and clothes presented can be used to construct the formation of moving clothes.
This study researched the needs of smart fashion items using energy harvesting for outdoor wearers and surveyed the application areas and design preferences for energy-harvesting systems based on outdoor activities. A total of 217 subjects were surveyed. Subjects who had at least 3 years of experience in outdoor activities were selected in order to increase the reliability of the research results. The survey investigated lifestyles based on outdoor activities, outdoor clothing and electronic equipment usage, purchase style, utilization plan, and design preference for energy-harvesting clothing and supplies. The results showed that 62.7% of the respondents had experience in outdoor activities for more than five years. 96.3% of the subjects carried electronic equipment, and 179 participants(82.5%) experienced discomfort due to battery consumption/dead batteries during outdoor activities. 78.4% were interested in smat fashion items using energy-harvesting technology, and the energy-conversion technology that was useful for outdoor activities was "kinetic energy"(74.7%). Participants showed a high preference for a detachable type(30.9%) and a city type(69.1%) that can be worn in outdoor activities as well as in general life. The preferred location of the electric power-charging device was the "Hem area of top garment"(35.9%), and the reason for this selection was that it was easy to operate and did not interfere with movement. The data from this paper can be used as a basis for product planning and product design for energy-harvesting apparel designers and supply developers for outdoor clothing.
The purpose of this study is to analyze consumers attitude toward PPL (Product Placement) of fashion products on TV, with regarding PPL as a new-communication sphere of marketing. This study used a questionnaire method, and the results of the analysis are as follows. First, as for the information availability of PPL related to fashion products on TV, it was shown to be higher in order of trend, brand, color, practicability, price and material. Second, as a result of analyzing, through 11 items, the attitude on PPL experience of fashion products on TV, there were many positive responses as to 5 items (The commodity with PPL is the product of a renowned brand, The commodity with PPL is the expensive product, An image of the product with PPL becomes good, The product with PPL is suitable to the mood in a drama, I try to think whether the product with PPL matches with myself), and there were more negative responses as to 6 items (Because of desiring to know a brand of the product with PPL, I look for it, The product with PPL is practical, The product with PPL is same as the real situation, I will also buy the product with PPL, Because there are too many commodities with PPL, I become angry, In case of facing PPL, I change a channel). Third, it was shown that the purchase experience and purchase intention as to the product with PPL on TV, have a positive correlation with TV viewing time and with whether or not re-approval as to PPL of a specific company. Also, the purchase experience as to the product with PPL on TV was shown much in the group of viewing TV via internet and in the group of using the digital TV broadcasting. The purchase intention as to the product with PPL on TV was shown higher in the group of using much cable TV broadcasting and general TV broadcasting, while the group of viewing TV via internet had purchase experience, but the response of not having intention of repurchasing was the highest.
