난지형 마늘의 농업수리학적 재배적지 분류 (Water Balance-based Farmland Suitability for Southern-type Garlic Cultivation)

  • This study carried out farmland suitability analysis for southern-type garlic cultivation considering soil and temperature as well as water deficit conditions. The spatial extent was limited within the area derived by Kim et al. (2012) using just soil and temperature constraints. Daily soil moisture was simulated using a one-layer soil water balance model at a $100{\times}100m$ grid unit, and then annual water deficit was calculated from 2000 to 2010. The farmland suitability was classified as four steps: best suitable, suitable, possible, and low productive. As a result, total area of best suitable or suitable farmland was about 375,900 ha, and Gimje-si and Haenam-gun were appeared as the largest favorable area for southern-type garlic cultivation. The best suitable or suitable area at Haenam-gun, Goheung-gun, Shinan-gun, Namhae-gun, and Muan-gun, major production regions of southern-type garlic, were extracted as 20,187 ha, 13,018 ha, 4,715 ha, 1,319 ha, and 349 ha, respectively. On the other hand, the result showed that the adoption of sprinkler irrigation systems might be critical in cultivating the southern-type garlic at some regions having poor water balance.

  • It is necessary to prepare a stable production base in advance for a change in the global grain market, and it is required to prepare comprehensive countermeasures such as securing technical skills and cultivation technology. Therefore, Korea, which relies on imports of major grains other than rice, could be exposed to a food crisis at any time unless the self-sufficiency rate of grains is improved. In order to respond to this new food crisis, it is necessary to find ways to efficiently utilize rice fields to increase the domestic grain self-sufficiency rate. From this point of view, interest and demand for the generalization of farmland that can be used as paddy fields and returned to paddy fields are increasing, and related research is also being continuously performed. In order to select a multipurpose farmland project site, this study extracted farmland containing 10% or more purchased and stockpiled farmland through spatial analysis (buffer, dissolve, intersect, etc.), and finally presented areas subject to multipurpose farmland projects. The target site for the multipurpose farmland project was finally selected by integrating data onto a point-by-point basis so that the current status of farmland purchased and stockpiled, Farm Manager Registration Records, and the Korean Soil Information System data (drainage classes, surface soil texture, field-suitability classification, etc.) can be used in combination. There are 175 areas where the multipurpose farmland is possible. Incheon 2, Gyeongbuk 40, Gangwon 2, Chungbuk 7, Chungnam 48, Jeonbuk 34, Jeonnam 19, Gyeongbuk 15, Gyeongnam 8. Chungcheongnam-do has the most target site for the multipurpose farmland project, and Gangwon-do is the least. It is expected to contribute to new commercialization and business expansion by deriving business areas by identifying the scale of the farmland multipurpose farmland project using Farm Manger Registration Records and spatial data.

서식지 적합성 평가를 이용한 수변지역 핵심 보전지역 선정 - 수달을 대상으로 - (Selecting Core Areas for Conserving Riparian Habitat Using Habitat Suitability Assessment for Eurasian Otter)

  • In Korea, significant riparian areas have been developed due to river maintenance projects. Introduction of new riparian facilities can negatively affect wildlife in the riparian areas. This study focuses on selecting core conservation areas for Eurasian Otter(Lutra lutra) to support decision making process for development of riparian areas. For the study, first of all, field data of study site were collected by field surveys. Secondly, stream naturalness was assessed to understand physical environments of the study sites. Thirdly, habitat suitability was assessed using occurrence data of Eurasian Otter and environmental data. Lastly, core areas for conservation was selected by comparing and synthesizing stream naturalness map and habitat suitability map. The selected core areas showed several characteristics. The number of artificial facilities is low in the core areas. Rocks which are preferred by Eurasian Otter to eat and excrete are plentiful in the core areas. Also, the ratio of adjacent farmland is high. Based on the analyses, it is expected that this study can contribute to decision making process for environmental spatial plans to better conserve habitats of Eurasian Otter.

순환토사 재활용에 관한 연구 - 농업성토용 중심으로 - (Study on the Recycling of Waste Soil from Constructed Site - Focused on Agricultural Planting Soil -)

  • 본 연구에서는 순환토사가 농지개량용으로 적용 가능성이 있는지 그리고 채움재로서의 활용 가능성이 있는지 알아보기 위하여 순환토사의 물리적 화학적 성분 분석을 평가하였고, 비교생육실험 및 발아실험 그리고 식생대층 높이에 따른 생육실험을 진행하였다. 물리적 성분 분석결과 SW와 SP계열로 조사되었으며 토성은 양질사토로 조사되었다. 순환토사를 농지개량용으로 사용하기 위해서는 점토 및 미사와 혼합하여 사용하면 될 것으로 사료된다. 화학적 성분 분석결과 pH는 일반 토양보다 높으나 중금속은 토양오염우려기준의 1지역 기준치 이내로 나타났다. 발아실험결과 순환토사를 75% 미만으로 혼합하여 사용했을때 영향이 거의 없는 것으로 조사되었고, 원예용 상토에 순환토사 40% 미만을 혼합하여 사용하면 생육장해가 미비한 것으로 나타나 일반적인 토양과 차이가 없는 것으로 확인되었다.

Simulation of Urban Expansion Causing Farmland Loss and Sprawl Phenomena with Cellular Automata Technology

  • A spatial simulation model for rural and urban sprawl phenomena was developed with GIS and cellular automata techniques. The model finds out built-up areas invading toward rural areas required for development of existing urban area. Probability of land use change for optimizing the development area was determined using a land suitability analysis method interfaced with GIS methods, based on several criteria in terms of geographic and accessibility factors such as slope of land and distance from city center. Weighting values of the criteria were quantified by an analytic hierarchy process method. For model applicability test, the parameters of criteria were calibrated based on the changes in time series land use data of the test city for 1986, 1996, and 2000, which were classified by remote sensing techniques. Simulated and observed areas in land use maps for city shape of 1996 showed good similarities with each other through a morphology verification method. The model enabled us to evaluate the spatial expansion phenomena of cities considering boundary conditions, and also to simulate land use planning for rural areas in urban fringe.

Comparison of terrestrial insect communities associated with the crabgrass (Digitaria ciliaris) community, Korea

  • Background: Crabgrass (Digitaria ciliaris, Poaceae) is a globally distributed weed, including in Afro-Eurasia, America, and Australia. As a highly gregarious plant, crabgrass is an important habitat for a diverse array of insects, and a potential habitat for agricultural pests. To compare the insect communities associated with the crabgrass community, insects were sampled using sweep sampling (100 sweeps per sample) at five sites, including Daejeon (Daejeon and Gap rivers), Anseong, Namhae, and Inje, with a focus on the Daejeon River. Results: A total of 5,888 individual insects belonging to eight orders, 42 families, and 115 species were collected from the five sites. Both the number of species and individuals of Hemiptera were the highest at all of the sites. In the present study, 73% of the insect population fed on D. ciliaris as a host plant. The dominant species in the D. ciliaris community was Laodelphax striatellus (Delphacidae), being ubiquitous at all the sites which showed a high abundance of rice pests in the communities and the suitability of D. ciliaris as an alternative host plant for them. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index was highest in Inje on 17 September (2.88), and the Chao1-bc diversity index was highest in the Gap River on 5 September (80). The sampling efficiency of 100 sweep samples (sample coverage) was calculated to be as high as 90%. The results of the samples taken from September to November in the Daejeon River showed that the number of species and individuals decreased gradually over time, and the number of dominant species decreased sharply between September and October. Similarity analysis indicated that sampling dates that were closer together yielded sampled assemblages with higher faunal similarity. In addition, in each sampling, the difference in the minimum temperature during the two-week period prior to sampling and faunal similarities were negatively correlated. Conclusions: This study provides foundational data that could enhance our understanding of insect diversity in D. ciliaris. The data can facilitate ecological conservation and management of Korean grasslands generally, as well as identification of potential pests that may disperse from D. ciliaris communities to nearby farmland.

MaxEnt 모형과 고라니의 이동행태를 고려한 수변지역 이동통로 적지선정 (Selecting Suitable Riparian Wildlife Passage Locations for Water Deer based on MaxEnt Model and Wildlife Crossing Analysis)

  • 최근 우리나라는 하천정비사업으로 인해 수변생태계는 큰 위협을 받고 있으며, 수변의 야생동물은 고립되고 이동의 영향을 받고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 수변지역을 대상으로 이동통로 적지를 선정하는 것이다. 목표종은 고라니를 대상으로 하였으며 Maximum Entropy 모형과 눈길위흔적조사 자료를 이용하여 최소비용거리에 따른 야생동물의 행동생태학적인 관점에서 수변지역의 이동통로 적지를 선정하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 수변인접서식지 분석에서 고라니의 잠재서식지 영향을 주는 중요요소는 수계와의 거리, 영급, 토지피복, 경사, 향, 고도, 밀도, 도로와의 거리순으로 나타났으며, 수변에서는 토지피복, 수변면적, 지류와의 거리, 시가지와의 거리가 주요 변수로 나타났음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 적지선정 지점은 수변과 인접지역의 각각의 서식지에서 적합도가 높은 지점과 이동경로를 고려하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 판단된다. 적지선정 지점들은 수변의 산림, 초지 및 농경지가 고라니의 주요 서식지이나 도로나 제방으로 인해서 연결성이 저하된 곳이었으며, 이동에 영향을 받아 우회하는 것을 눈길위흔적조사를 통해 확인하였다. 마지막으로 고라니는 수변지역에서 지류를 통해서 수변과 인근의 좋은 서식지를 선호하는 것으로 유추되었다. 본 연구에서 제시한 적지 선정 방법은 구조적이고 기능적인 분석을 통합한 방법으로 적지선정에 적용한다면 시간적 경제적인 소모를 줄일 수 있을 것이다.

인공신경망 기법을 이용한 청미천 유역 Flux tower 결측치 보정 (A point-scale gap filling of the flux-tower data using the artificial neural network)

  • 본 연구에서는 청미천 유역에서의 플럭스타워에서 산출되는 증발산량의 결측값을 보완하기 위해 인공신경망(Artificial Neural Network, ANN)을 사용하였다. 비교 평가를 위해, Mean Diurnal Variation(MDV), Food and Agriculture Organization Penman-Monteith(FAO-PM) 방법들을 이용하여 증발산량을 산정하였고, ANN 방법을 이용한 결과와 비교하였다. 비교 평가 방법으로 시계열 방법 및 통계 분석(결정계수, IOA, RMSE, MAE)이 사용되었다. 각 gap-filling 모델의 검증을 위해 2015년의 30분 단위 데이터를 이용하였으며, 121개의 결측값 중 MDV, FAO-PM, ANN 방법 순으로 각각 70, 53, 54개의 결측값을 보완하여 모든 데이터가 관측되지 않은 36개의 데이터를 제외하면 각각 82.4%, 62.4%, 63.5%의 성능을 보였다. 결정계수(MDV, FAO-PM, ANN 방법 순으로 각각 0.673, 0.784, 0.841)와 IOA(MDV, FAO-PM, ANN 방법 순으로 각각 0.899, 0.890, 0.951)를 분석한 결과, 3가지 방법 모두 양질의 상관성을 보여 활용성이 충분하다고 판단되며, 이 중 ANN 모델이 가장 높은 적합도와 양질의 성능을 나타내었다. 본 연구를 기반으로 기계학습방법을 이용한 플럭스 타워 자료의 gap-filing 연구에 보다 적절하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
