It has been appeared since 1979 that the pattern of laver culture changes from household management to entrepreneurial management. The typical entrepreneurial laver culture management (ELCM) can be defined as a management by the floating aquaculturing method and mechanical processing system. Historical studies show that the ELCM could be operated only under the following condintions; \circled1 securing capital, labor and aquaculturing farm. \circled2 Leveling up of technology to combine these resources effectively. \circled3 Realizing its true value of products for good profits. In turning from household mangement to ELCM, there are some obstacles as follows ; \circled1 Uncertainty, which cannot maintein the merit of mass production because the object of laver culture is living in the sea. \circled2 Immaturity of management owing manly to the lower level of technology and scarcity of competent managers. \circled3 Social problems ; lack of aquaculturing farm, overpopulation in fishing villiage, side-job with agriculture etc. For these reasons, there has been household management with overlabor and underconsumption in fishing village. In order that ELCM can enter the stage of maturity, those problems should be solved. Because ef laver industrial inferiority, these can be solved by the support assistance of government. As the required conditions in ELCM are filled by the government policy, ELCM are increased recently in its numbers.
This study was carried out to investigate the actual environmental paddy storage conditions in conventional Korean farm warehouses. The paddy storage conditions by the locations and sizes of warehouses were figured out. The effectiveness of the small insulated box for storing paddy was also examined. Observations were made at sixteen different warehouses located in Moonsan-Myeon, Jinyandg-gun, Gyungnam Province from July lst to September 28 th, the period which was considered to be the worst for storing grains. The results are as follows ; 1. the average temperatures of rough rice and air inside the warehouse were 0.9 and 0.7$^\circ$ higher than the outside air temperature. 2. The average relative humidity in warehouses was 1.5percent higher than that of the atomosphere. This fact resulted in the increased moisture content of grains. Therefore, the ventilation for equalizing the relative humidity of inside and outside of warehouses was required. 3. The dry matter of stored rough rice was decreased by 1.1 percent in average druing the observation period. In order to reduce the dry matter loss, application of new grain storing method ;hermetic storage or filling inert gas storage, was highly recommended. 4. Environmental conditions for storing rough rice in a warehouse located in a sloping site are, in general , better than those of a warehouse located in a flat site. But as far as the dry matter of rough rice was concerned, above situation is not always satisfactory. Because it is fairly frequent to observe the higher rate of moisture absorption by grains stored in a warehouse located in a sloping site. 5. Environmental conditions for storing rough rice in a large-scale warehouse were better than those in a small size warehouse. Therefore, it is advisible for farmers to store their grins in the large-scale warehouses commonly used by villagers. 6. It was undesirable to store rough in a insulated box.

The "leading farms" or "superior management farms" were relatively capable to overcome various limitations in rapidly changing agricultural environment and economic conditions, and quick to adopt agricultural management innovations and accomplish more compared to the other farms in shorter durations. The farmers from these "leading farms" were innovative and dynamic, and endowed with potentials to be the core leaders in rural society. Their adaptability created a difference and worthy of emulations. The purpose of this research was to propose a policy to develop, promote and sustain these leading farms. There were some problems in communication structures and in implementing agricultural policies for upbringing leading farmers. In coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry(MAF) and Rural Development Administration (RDA), this article attempted to come up with workable strategies to solve these problems affecting the leading farms.
This paper proposes an energy management strategy and adaptive control for superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) in a distribution power system with a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) farm. Application of the SMES system can decrease the output power fluctuations of PV system effectively. Also, it can control the real and reactive powers corresponding to the scheduled reference values with adequate converter capacity, which are required at a steady-state operating point. Therefore, the adaptive control strategy for SMES plays a key role in improving the system stability when the PV generation causes uncertain variations due to weather conditions. The performance of proposed energy management strategy and control method for the SMES is then evaluated with several case studies based on the PSCAD/EMTDC$^{(R)}$ simulation.
The liberalization of electricity market and environmental concerns are the major driving forces for the development of Distributed Generation (DG). The mode of grid-connected wind power generation is becoming popular and has matured as a reliable DG technology. The voltage generated by the wind generator is stepped up to the higher voltage by the transformers before connecting to the grid. Operating algorithm of the differential relays for transformer protection used in the wind farms need to be modified to take care of the dynamic nature of fault current caused by the intermittent nature of the wind power. An algorithm for the differential relay is proposed in which dual slope characteristics are adjusted with varying fault level situation according to the wind generator in service as well as with the wind speed. A case study conducted for a typical wind farm shows that the proposed method avoids mal-operation of the differential relay in varying wind power conditions.

The environmental change is affecting the farm products like tomato, and pepper, etc. This affects to lead smart farming yield. What is more, this inconstant conditions cause the farms to be infected by variety diseases. Therefore ICT technology is needed to detect and prevent the crops from being effected by diseases. This article suggests the procedure to help producer for identifying farms disease based on the detected image. This detects the kind of diseases with comparing the trained image data before and after disease emergence. First step monitors an image of farms and resize it. Its features are extracted on parameters such as color, and morphology, etc. The next steps are used for classification to classify the image as infected or non-infected. on the bassis of detection algorithm.
In accordance with the Carbon-Free Island by 2030 policy of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, renewable energy sources are increasing in Jejudo Island. Due to the intermittent output characteristics of wind turbines, one of the renewable energy sources, which can cause unbalanced system conditions between the demand load and the power generation of Jejudo Island. The Korea Power Exchange limits the output of wind turbines for stabilizing the Jeju power system. Therefore, this paper proposes a method to supply a limited output of Sangmyeong Wind Farm in Jeju Power system to Energy Storage System(ESS) and Water Electrolysis Device(WED). The voltage and frequency fluctuation of the Jeju power system is checked accordingly. The simulation results are performed using the PSCAD/EMTDC program.

With recent rapid increases in the power generation capacity of offshore wind power generators, reliable structural analysis of the large-scale infrastructure needed to install wind power generators at sea is required. Therefore, technology for heavy marine equipment such as barges and excavation equipment is needed. Under submarine conditions, rock drilling technology to install the substructure for offshore wind pile excavation is a very important factor in supporting a wind farm safely under dynamic loads over periods of at least 20 years. After investigating the marine environment and on-site ground excavation for the Saemangeum offshore wind farm, in this study we suggest.
In recent years, consumers have recognized the issue of and expressed concern over farm animal welfare. Therefore, worldwide, chicken farms are transitioning from traditional caged breeding systems to welfare-oriented breeding systems. In this study, we further analyzed and compared the prevalence and protection rate of various diseases by challenging chickens under conventional and welfare-oriented breeding conditions with low pathogenic avian influenza. Ten chickens were randomly selected from each farm (conventional and welfare) from which Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) were identified and isolated. Additionally, low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) were challenged to broilers from each farm and samples were collected from these chickens using oral and cloacal swabs to investigate viral shedding and titer. The results showed that Mycoplasma infection did not significantly differ between breeding systems. Initially, LPAI viral shedding and titer significantly differed between breeding systems post-challenge, but as the experiment progressed, there was ultimately no significant difference.
In order to investigate the hygienic conditions of potable water in farm area, we examined the hygienic bacteriological and chemical tests of the 159 waters in the farm areas of Kwangjugun, Namyangju-gun, Yangpyung-gun Paju-gun and Hwasung-gun.The results were as follows: 1. Of the 159 waters, the average numbers of standard plate count and coliform were 920 $\pm$ 250ml and 450 $\pm$ 380/100 ml, respectively. The average pH was 6.74 $\pm$ 0.08, KMnO$_4$ consumption 4.18 $\pm$ 0.23 mg/l, turbidity 0.74 $\pm$ 0.08 degree, NH$_3$-N 0.07 $\pm$ 0.02 mg/l, NO$_3$-N 7.76 $\pm$ 0.48 mg/l, total hardness 101.3 $\pm$ 4.7mg/l, chlorine 18.6 $\pm$ 1.3mg/l, sulfate 12.9 $\pm$ 1.0 mg/l, lead 0.036 $\pm$ 0.003 mg/l, manganese 0.017 $\pm$ 0.003 mg/l, zinc 0.064 $\pm$ 0.005 mg/l, and copper 0.010 $\pm$ 0.001 mg/l, respectively. 2. Of the 159 waters, 84 samples (52.8%) were over 100 per ml of SPC or detected coliform per 100 ml water and 63 samples (39.6%) exceed over physicochemical limited criteria for potable water. NO$_3$-N was the primary item among excess contents of potable water in farm areas. 3. The contents of total hardness, chlorine and NO$_3$-N in Hwasung-gun were higher than those in the other regions, but the numbers of SPC and coliform in Yangpyung-gun and Namyangjugun were higher than those in the other regions. 4. The correlationships among many items were highly significant (SPC, Coliform, KMnO$_4$ consumption NH$_4$-N, NO$_3$-N, KMnO$_4$, Total hardness, Chlorine, Sulfate).
