기준물을 이용한 NC 공작기계의 오차규명 및 보상제어 (Error Identification and Compensation for NC Machine Tools Using the Reference Artifact)

  • Methodology of volumetric error identification and compensation is presented to improve the accuracy of NC machine tools by using a reference artifact and a touch trigger probe. Homogeneous transformation matrix and kinematic chain are used for modeling the geo-metric and thermal errors of a three-axis vertical machining center. The reference artifact is designed and fabricated to identify the model parameters by machine tool metrology. Parameters in the error model are able to be identified and updated by direct measurement of the reference artifact on the machine tool under the actual conditions which include the thermal interactions of error sources. A volumetric error compensation system based on IBM/PC is linked with a FANUC CNC controller to compensate for the identified volumetric error in machining workspace.

  • In order to maintain the cutting force at a desired level during peripheral end milling processes in spite of variation of the depth of cut and other machining conditions, a feedrate override. Apaptive Control Constraint (ACC) system are developed. Feedrate override was accomplished by a developed MMC board and PMC interface techniques. Nonlinear model of the cutting process was linearized as an adaptive model with time varying paramrters. Integral type estimators were introduced for on-line identification of cutting and control parameters in peripheral and milling processes. Zero Order Jold (ZOH) type degital control methodology which uses pole-placement concepts was applied for the ACC system. Performance of the developed ACC system was confirmed on the vertical machining center equipped with FANUC OMC for a large amount of experiment

  • In order to minimize turnaround of machining in FMS lines, CAD/CAM/CAT integrated system called MascCAM was developed. Developing enhanced CAM and inspection modules in the MascCAM environment, 2D came, 2 $^{1}$2/ D prismatic parts and 3D free-formed surfaces were able to be automatically designed, manufactured and inspected on the machine tools by using AutoCAM and Z-map. Introducing Z-map technique, the MascCAM was able to be interfaceed with and CAD system. Developed QPPGT module generates a quick and fool-proof inspection work to users. A vertical and a horizontal machining center equipped with FANUC OMC were used for experiments. Performance of the system was confirmed by a large amount of experiments.

Inertia Force Problem and Nozzle Contact Mechanism of Linear Motor Drive Injection Molding Machine

  • This paper presents the inertial force problem of ultrahigh-speed injection molding machine using linear motors, and presents its solutions. To make very thin products by injection molding, very high injection speed is required, and linear motors are used for this purpose. However, direct drive by linear motors may cause brief nozzle separation from the sprue bushing because of the inertia force which is as large as the total output thrust of the linear motors, and this momentary separation can cause molten plastic to leak. In this paper, two solutions are proposed for this inertia force problem. One is the mechanical cancellation of the inertia force, and the other is to increase the nozzle contact force. With the latter solution, the stationary platen bending worsens, so a new nozzle contact mechanism is also proposed, which can prevent the stationary platen bending.

  • In order to achieve computer-oriented control and automation of manufacturing processec, a distributed NC (DNC_) system was developed for FMS under the Windows environment. The DNC system consists of conventional DNC, PMC interface and tool management modules. Real-time system conditon monitoring and control fuctions required for machine tools and machining processes were accomplished by developing a PMC interface module called MMC board. Tool condition monitoring and management was performed by the developed tool management module composed of a tool setting probe and softwares. Performance of the DNC system was confirmed on the horizontal and the vertical type machining center equipped with FANUC OMC for the large amount of experiments.

엔드밀링 공정에서 극점배치 구속적응제어 시스템 (A Pole-Assignment ACC System in the Peripheral End Milling Process)

  • In order to regulate the cutting force at a desired level during peripheral end milling processes a feedrate override Adaptive Control Constraint (ACC) system was developed. The feedrate override function was accomplished through a development of programmable machine controller (PMC) interface technique on the NC controller, Nonlinear model of the cutting process was linearized as an adaptive model with a time varying process parameter. An integral type estimator was introduced for on-line estimation of the cutting process parameter, Zero order hold digital control methodology which uses pole-assignment concept for tuning of PI controllers was applied for the ACC system. Performance of the ACC system wsa confirmed on the vertical machining center equipped with fanuc OMC through a large amount of experiment.

  • Interactive measuring Part Program Generating Tools (IMPPGT) realized on the FANUC 15MA using touch trigger probes and interactive macro functions of the CNC were developed for intelligent measuring and inspection systems on the machine tools. Machine tools. Menu driven measuring and inspection functions of the IMPPGT were studied and implemented on the CNC through the macro executor and ROM writer. In order to automate measurement and inspection procedures in machine shops, measuring G Code system was also proposed. Using the developed measuring G Code system on the machine tool, untended measurement and inspection operation was able to be realized in FMS lines.

  • 중화학공업을 대신하게 될 앞으로의 기술을 생각할 때, 과거에도 그랬듯이 수요와 공급이라는 면을 생각해야 된다. 즉, 앞으로 사람은 무엇을 요구하게 되는가, 라는 문제에 대해서 과학기술이 새로운 가능성이 된다는 기대를 하게 된다. 과연 과거의 공업기술은 양산이라는 하나의 획기적인 생산기술을 개발 함으로써 공산품의 대중화를 이룩했다는 사실은 의미가 깊다. 이것으로 인하여 사람들은 보다풍요로운 생활 에 대한 희망을 가지게 되었다. 또한 오늘날과 같은 평화지향의 추세를 만난 세대는 물질의 풍요만으로는 만족하지 않게 되었으며 가일층 개성적, 인간적인 것을 강력하게 요구하게 되었다. 따라서 생산기술은 이같은 수요에 알맞는 생산기술, 생산체제라는 것이 주목되었고, 새로운 기술, 문화에 대한 욕구가 높아지고 있다. 도표는 최근 10 년간의 생산기술의 발달사라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 이제는 기계단체를 이용한생산효율보다 복합기계에 의한 관련시스템의 합리화로 생산성을 추구하게 되었다는 것을 알 수 있다. 예컨대 구미의 최근 수년간의 합리화동향을 살펴 보면 프랑스의 루노공원과 같이 단계별 교체공정의 단축화라든가 재고감축, 품질향상이 요구되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 미국의 자동차산업에서도 낡은 공장의 폐쇄, 인원감축, 해외생산 확대가 요구되고 있다. 물론 새로운 경영합리시스템이 개발되어 컴퓨터 라든가 ME(Mecro-Electronics) 기기를 이용한 공장의 자동화도 추진되고 있다.

  • Cim realization for the machinery manufacturing plant has several problems such as a lack of the adaptibity for system integration of the production machines, a lack of the flexibility for the information flow and a lack of the interchangeability fot the variety of the interchange information. In the paper the development of VMD for the object oriented machine tool in Cim enviroment is accomplised. FOr this purpose VMD is constructed in PC with NT 3.51/OS enviroment by using the exculsive comunication board and PLC for the conventional CNC machine tool that VMD support is not available. And also RS232 interface between VMD and CNC's and DNC 2 comunication board supplied by FANUC for two types of CNC are used. This developed VMD is very useful for CIM construction in the shop floor having the multi-vendor CNC controllers.

  • The stiffness of multi-articulated industrial robots is very weak, because their structure is an articulated type with some links and joints. Thus it is known that cutting processes for metals are not accepted in machine shop well, but they have a lot of merits for cutting processes, for example. drilling, tapping. and engraving etc., because of the characteristics of their high degree of freedom. The temptation of cutting aluminium was carried out to investigate the feasibility and the limitations or constrains for cutting metals on them. First the mode shapes of 6-axes FANUC welding robot were taken and analysed, and next the cutting processes were practically carried out on it. The results of study were found out to show the feasibility of cutting processes at end-milling under 6mm of tool diameter. as well as to have some limitations and constrains, for examples, surface roughness and feed rate, depth of cut, cutting force etc..
