Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the essence of disabled parents' experiences of raising children. Method: Five families, which were composed with parents with physical disabilities and children, were participated into this study. One-time interview was conducted with mother of each family and it was recorded, coded, and analysed using method of Giorgi's phenomenological study. Result: Three superordinate themes, nine subordinate themes, and 22 concepts were derived. The essence of disabled parents' experiences of raising children was "disabled parents' growth with their children despite of prejudice." This represented that even though disabled parents faced with diverse kinds of difficulties, they put their heart and soul into raising their children and they encouraged their children to have their feet on the ground firmly. Finally, disabled parents went out into the world with their children. Conclusion: The current study illustrated how those stories about raising children could be interpreted from the perspective of the family relation, and suggested possible ways to support disabled parents for raising children.
Objectives: This study explored the effect of adolescents' sociodemographic variables, parenting rearing styles, resilience, and life satisfaction on adolescents' depression. The resilience as mediating effects of parental rearing styles and life satisfaction on depression was examined as well. Method: The data were from 2,108 middle school freshmen panel of a national sample at the forth year, Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS). Hierarchical multiple regressions and mediation regression analyses, steps for testing mediation by Baron and Kenny, were conducted. Results: Adolescents' resilience had both direct and mediating significant effects, showing that resilience partially mediated the effects of affective parental rearing style and life satisfaction on depression, respectively. Life satisfaction had the most significant impact on adolescents' depression. Conclusions: While some parental rearing styles were significant, adolescents' personal properties including resilience and life satisfaction revealed the most significant explanatory power of adolescents' depression. Life satisfaction was the most powerful predictor for lessening adolescents' depression.

For Chinese-Han, 'balanced group (perceived fairness in decision-making)' showed higher marital satisfaction than 'underbenefited group (husband is more dominant in decision-making)'. For Korean-Chinese, there was no significant difference between the groups. Method: The initial items were selected by reviewing the previous research and literature. To test validity and reliability, 222 middle-aged married couples who were residing in Seoul or the Gyeonggi area were selected. Results: The results of the research are as follows: 1) the scale was the total of 26 items consisting of two sub-factors of 14 positives and 12 negatives from the analysis of content validity, construct validity, and convergent validity, 2) the reliability of Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ were from .90 to .94 which showed a high degree of internal consistency. Conclusions: The intergenerational ambivalence scale developed is expected to serve as a useful tool for those who study the intergenerational relationship and work on the ground to measure people's intergenerational dynamics.
